1931 Ford Model A Oil Well Truck 1938 Chassis Good Running - Hot Rod/rat Rod Pto on 2040-cars
Berlin Center, Ohio, United States
Vehicle Title:Clear
Make: Ford
Drive Type: manual
Model: Model A
Mileage: 0
Trim: Truck
This 1931 Ford Model A Truck with original Model A engine in excellent running condition was placed on a 1938 Ford 1 Ton chassis many years ago and used for swabbing oil wells here in central Ohio until about 1962. The cab of this truck has the rare indented firewall and the full metal top. These cabs were only produced for a short time and they are quite desirable. This one is in very good shape. The truck starts and runs very well with no smoke, noises or overheating issues. The truck stops very well, and it is a lot of fun to drive. It is still the original 6 volt and I believe the transmission is an original Model A truck transmission with low, first, second and third gear. The shifter has the lever you hold up when you put it into reverse. It also has an original power take off for the winch on the back, that also works. The fenders are solid but dented and some rust through in spots. The radiator shell also has a dent on the passenger side. The wheels appear to be original 1938 1 ton wheels and they are in exceptional condition for the age. This truck has great history and could be used as is or whatever you desire. My reserve is less than what I've seen just the cab's advertised for. The truck comes with the title it was registered with here in Ohio. It is a 1938 title and shows registration stamps from the 1950's on it. It was signed on the back by the previous owner many years ago but never transferred. Available for your inspection prior to bidding. If you have a zero rating or excessive negatives, please contact me before bidding or your bid will be removed. Feel free to email me or call me with any questions you may have. 412-952-3239. Full payment due within 5 days of auction's end by bank wire transfer, cashier's check with 10 days to clear, or cash.

Watch live as Mark Fields is officially named Ford's next CEO
Thu, 01 May 2014We've heard rumblings of a changing of the guard at Ford, and this live stream from The Blue Oval itself is set to confirm the rumors: Alan Mulally will be succeeded by the automaker's current Chief Operating Officer, Mark Fields.
Mulally, who is 68 years old, has served at the head of Ford for eight years, and his official retirement date will be July 1st, 2014. Fields, who is 53 this year, has been with Ford for 25 years and has been groomed to take the helm from Mulally for the last several of those years.
There's an official press release that you can read, but if you're more of a visual person, you're welcome to watch the live video feed of the announcement down below.
Ford says utility vehicles are key to global growth
Tue, 26 Nov 2013While most of us believe that small, fuel efficient cars are the key to global expansion for US automakers, Jim Farley, Ford's vice president of Global Marketing, thinks otherwise. Last week, we attended an exclusive sneak preview of the Ford Edge Concept in advance of the Los Angeles Auto Show, and Farley told us that it's actually utility vehicles that will help the Blue Oval gain market share overseas. "There is no other segment in our industry that is growing like utilities," he said. "We expect over the next five years this full family of [utility] vehicles to really drive our growth as a company."
And Farley has the numbers to back it up, too. Ford projects overall automotive sales to grow 23 percent from 2012 to 2017, but the company's utility vehicles are expected to boom by an impressive 41 percent during that same period. Much of that growth will be in China, where Ford estimates its utility sales will explode. "The biggest opportunity for us globally for utilities is in China," Farley said. "China utility growth is expected to more than double from where it is today to 2017, which isn't that far away." Most astounding is that Ford projects its own utility sales in China will eventually increase by more than 2,000 percent when smaller crossovers, such as the EcoSport and Kuga (sold as the Escape in North America), and the Edge and Explorer, are factored in.
Ford's VP also expects utilities to lead the way in the struggling European market. "With all the difficulties of the European market, there is one segment that has actually expanded in volume over the last several years even though the market is way down, and that's utilities," Farley told us. Ford estimates that their utility sales will grow 65 percent in Europe from 2012-2017. "The utility segment is projected to grow we think about thirty percent between now and 2017 in Europe, and we think we are going to grow twice that rate as a brand," Farley continued.
