Up for Auction is a 1931 Ford Model A Coupe Deluxe. This car was restored in the 1980's and went on to win an AACA Junior, Senior, and Grand National First Prize in the mid 1990's. I am a classic car broker and I am selling it for the elderly gentleman that owns it. I pulled this car out of storage back in June and got it back up and running. I have put roughly 350 miles on it since it has been in my possession and I really don't have any complaints. I adjusted the brakes, installed new spark plugs, rebuilt the carb, and put a new battery in it.

The only slight down side of this car is the paint. The car was painted with lacquer in the 80's and there are a few spots where touch up's have been done and a few cracks have appeared. Other than that, its a great car. I have taken it to a handful of car shows this summer and it really draws a crowd.

Mechanically the car is a 1931 Model A. Manual Drum brakes and a 3 speed trans. Anyone who has ever driven one of these, it drives exactly as it should. I would personally convert it from a generator to an alternator for more efficient battery charging, but that's up to the next owner.

This is a "Coupe Deluxe" meaning that the vehicle has a dome light, cowl lights, a moto-meter, mohair interior, and a rumble seat. The interior is in unbelievably good shape! No fraying, tears, flat spots, etc.

The car was appraised at $26,500 even with the state of the paint (which is a 7/10 for old paint - I just had to make it known so I don't get crucified if someone comes to see it) back in June for insurance purposes.

The price listed above is with no reserve and being sold "As-Is." The owner can no longer drive and has asked me to find this wonderful car a new home.

This car comes with a fitted car cover and a few boxes of spare parts.

Please ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them!

THANK YOU AND HAPPY BIDDING!

Ford celebrates 1 millionth Mustang built at Flat Rock

Thu, 18 Apr 2013

Yesterday, the Ford Mustang turned 49 years old, and Ford didn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the one millionth version of the Mustang rolling off the assembly line at the Flat Rock Assembly plant. Production of the Mustang at Flat Rock coincided with the fifth-generation design launching in 2004, and the one millionth car was the car shown above, a 2014 GT convertible painted in Ruby Red.
In total, Ford has sold more than 8.5 million Mustangs since the original car went on sale, but some of the key milestones over the car's nine years at Flat Rock include the Shelby GT-H, Bullitt, Boss 302 and, of course, the 662-horsepower Shelby GT500. Scroll down for a press release celebrating Flat Rock's milestone Mustang.

Ford celebrating 80 years of Aussie utes as it prepares to shutter Oz manufacturing

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

Ford is ending Australian production after 90 years in 2016, and with it may go perhaps the most iconic vehicles in its auto market - the ute. Car-based pickup trucks like the Ford Ranchero and Chevrolet El Camino were always more of a curiosity than a true market force here, but in Australia, they have long proven hugely popular.
As the legend goes, Ford invented the niche after a farmer's wife had asked Ford Australia's managing director for a more utilitarian car. Her request was simple: "My husband and I can't afford a car and a truck but we need a car to go to church on Sunday and a truck to take the pigs to market on Monday. Can you help?"
Ford's design team came up with a two-passenger, enclosed, steel coupe body with glass windows and a steel-paneled, wooden-frame load area in the rear. The sides of the bed were blended into the body to make it look more unified, and to keep costs down, the front end and interior were based on the Ford Model 40 five-window coupe. Power came from a V8 with shifting chores handled by a three-speed manual. Within a year, the new vehicle was ready, and production began in 1934. Lead designer Lewis Bandt christened it the coupe-utility.

Ford, Volvo top 2014 EyesOn Design awards

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

Each year at the Detroit Auto Show, the top vehicle designs are recognized with the prestigious EyesOn Design award for production and concept vehicles. This year, the 32 EyesOn Design judges (comprised of current and former vehicle designers including Chrysler designer and SRT president Ralph Gilles, Kia designer Peter Schreyer and retired General Motors designer Wayne Cherry) handed out three awards for the Best Concept Vehicle, Best Production Vehicle and Innovative Use of Color, Graphics, and Materials.
Beating out the Mercedes C-Class and Ford F-150, the 2015 Ford Mustang was named the Best Production Vehicle as the top auto show debut at this year's Detroit show. The 2014 Volvo Concept XC Coupe took home awards as the Best Concept Vehicle and for its Innovative Use of Color, Graphics and Materials.
Considering the Volvo's primer grey hue and subtle orange accents, it was a rather surprising winner for Innovative Use of Color, Graphics, and Materials over flashier concepts like the Toyota FT-1 and our Editors' Choice top pick, the Kia GT4 Stinger. Other vehicles in the running for the concept car award include the GT4 Stinger and Audi Allroad Shooting Brake
