Year:1931 Mileage:14
Location:

Williams, Minnesota, United States

1931 Ford coupe. Body was pretty rough and has been stitched back together and is now solid. The doors open and close nicely(bear claw latches). Windows are plexi glass. The windshield frame was fabricated out of alum channel and is in place until I could find/fabricate something a little better. Floor, braces and top are all metal. 32 Ford grille shell is fiberglass. Early SBC with vintage Offenhauser 2 x 4 intake with early AFB carbs(I'm told Vette). The valve covers are real Corvette(1963). Engine has approx. 54000 on rebuild - I might still have the paperwork to verify this. 1 wire alt. Headers have muffler ends. Auto trans. 68 Plymouth 8 3/4 rear. SW gauges - speedo, oil press. & water temp. Lokar shifter. Velour bench seat. New Chrome rims/tires. Super Bell dropped axle. Disc brakes front. Reversed Corvair box. Many new parts. Could probably use about an inch longer driveshaft. Gas pedal needs adjusting to obtain full throttle.

This is a nice running, fun car that needs very little to be blasting the street or maybe dragstrip. Keep in mind it is not perfect and will need tweaking here and there. I haven't had the time to work the bugs out, I've only got about 15 miles on it since finishing the build some months ago. I'm on other priorities and don't have the time to devout to this an the other items I'll be listing on Ebay, therefore the reserve is low considering the work and time that had been done so far and to other comparable cars. The title is 31 Ford and is clear in my name. Has collector plates.

This is being sold as is. This is being offered at different venues and auction will be ended if sold elsewhere, unless reserve is met. Please have transportation set up as I need this out of here within 2 weeks of auction end, I need the shop space.

Ask questions early in the auction - I'm on the computer randomly. Please read payment instructions and follow them after auction. Bidders with less than 10 feedback, please contact me before bidding or bid will be cancelled.

On Sep-06-14 at 13:39:06 PDT, seller added the following information:

Top is chopped approx. 2 1/2". Body has been channeled over frame approx. 4". Entire front end(axle, shocks, brakes, spring, perches, radius rods, tie rod, drag link and hardware) is new, just not painted. Rear shocks, spring plates, driveshaft, taillights, aluminum radiator, gauges, steering wheel, bear claw latches, fuel cell, alternator, wheels, tires, peep mirror, Wilwood brake pedal/mc and starter are new.

Engine was rated at 325hp. Trans has shift kit. Trans pan has slight leak.

USPS releases hot rod stamps to speed up your delivery

Sun, 08 Jun 2014

After one of the worst winters in recent memory for much of the country, summer is finally here. It's time to drop the top, open the sunroof or at least put down the windows and take a long drive. The United States Postal Service is celebrating the season's sun in automotive style with two new hot rod Forever stamps.
Both stamps depict classic '32 Ford hot rods. One shows the car from the front at a low angle in red (pictured above), while the other depicts the car from the back in black with flames running down the side.
To introduce the new stamps on their first day of availability, the USPS went straight to the source at the National Street Rod Association Street Rod Nationals in York, PA. They were unveiled by Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe, Car Crazy host Barry Meguiar and NSRA Special Events Director Jerry Kennedy.

Ford's Explorer-based Police Interceptor to get 365-hp EcoBoost option

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

Speeders beware, the police are going to be getting quite a bit faster. Ford has just announced that it will be offering its 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged, EcoBoost V6 in the Explorer Police Interceptor. The new engine will be joining the existing 3.7-liter V6. The 365-horsepower, 350-pound-foot mill should be familiar to consumers as the powerplant that's found in the Ford Taurus SHO (and its LEO equivalent, the Taurus Police Interceptor) and the Ford Explorer Sport. It should also provide quite a kick in the pants to officers used to the naturally aspirated 3.7 and its 304 ponies and 279 pound-feet of torque.
The move to the more potent powerplant was born out of all the equipment officers need to carry on a day-to-day basis. These days, there's so much stuff that police need on a regular basis, that there's a genuine market for a faster Police Interceptor Utility, as it's known officially. The Explorer-based cruiser has already accounted for 68 percent of Ford's LEO sales in 2013, and that's with just the 3.7, and we'd only expect that number to increase once the twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V6 is available. Ford won't offer up any indication of what the take rate will be on the new engine, but we're guessing it'll be fairly high.
The success of the Explorer PI couldn't have come at a better time for Ford. The decision to end Crown Victoria production was not a popular one with police, and combined with Chevrolet and Dodge diving into the LEO market feet first, Ford hasn't been performing as well as it's wanted to. The Explorer has been helping it turn around, though. And with the inclusion of the EcoBoost, Ford also has a legit competitor for the Chevrolet Tahoe on the big utility side of the police market.

2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost

Fri, 09 May 2014

I'll be honest; when Ford first unveiled its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, I was skeptical. Past attempts at building turbocharged American cars were almost universally awful, I reasoned, so why would Ford's latest effort be any different? This may seem foolish today, considering the success that the growing EcoBoost range has achieved - particularly the 2.0-liter and 1.6-liter mills. Yet I once again found myself questioning Ford.
It's the makeup of the 1.0-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder slotted into the compact engine bay of this Fiesta that has a way of breeding doubt. Three-cylinder engines remain an extreme rarity in the US. What's more, they earned a less-than-desirable reputation for applications in the 1980s and 1990s, and my trepidation about this latest three-pot as a result.
As I found out, though, history is a poor informant of modern technology. The thrust available in other cars with the EcoBoost badge on the back has not gone missing here; something the International Engine of the Year committee has lauded. That august body named the 1.0-liter Ecoboost the best engine of 2012 and 2013. After a week of driving, it didn't take long for my fear of threes to get turned into something like that line of thinking.
