1930 Ford Model A Coupe Hot Rod ( Rat Rod) Automatic V8. We found this 1930 Ford Model A California built Hot Rod Hiding in a barn for the last 15 years in the Arizona Desert. We brought it back to the shop and showed it a little love swapping the wheels & tires for some classic 15" Steelies with 205/75 15 & 225/15 15 American Classic White Walls. We then turned the Ignition & fired the Chevy 350 right up! The original builders of this Hot Rod started with a very good, clean, solid Original steel body with very minimal rust (look at the lower body & inner door pics).Sprayed in a Period Correct Matte Gray with custom hand pinstriping the exterior is developing a nice patina as it starts to show its age. The Interior was also well done at the time with VDO Classic gauges,Tilt Steering Column,Lokar billet accessories,a very nice gray tweed upholstery & a Pioneer Super Tuner AM/FM Cassette Stereo installed(got to have some cool tunes in such a cool ride!)To make it fast they installed a Carter AFB Competition Carb on a Weiand Stealth intake manifold and to make it loud its exhausted through a set Hooker Super Competition Headers. The engine was dressed with an assortment of Lokar Billet accessories & Moroso Chrome Valve Covers. After a short drive we came to appreciate the long low stance of this Classic  Model A Hot Rod as the ride is solid & the Automatic transmission means a more enjoyable drive to your local cruise night hangout. This 1930 Ford Model A will be seen on an upcoming episode of the hit show Fast N Loud and the winning bidder will have the option of taking delivery on the show! This is a good candidate for Advertising/Promotional use,a Classic Restoration( super solid body),Hot Rod/ Rat Rod build out(we left the way we found it so you can finish it the way you like!) or just drive it like it is until you decide. We sell Internationally as well as locally & will end the Auction when it sells. See all pics & ask any questions.

The big dune jump and the damage done

Mon, 20 May 2013

The Silver Lake sand dunes see their fair share of well-built trophy trucks executing impressive jumps. Drivers build insane pieces of machinery for the express purpose of sailing through the air like mad men and women.
Mike Higgins is no stranger to the area. His heavily modified Ford trophy truck has gone flying through the sky on more than one occasion, but he recently bit off more than he could chew. After hitting a particularly lofty dune, Higgins went airborne for a ridiculous 180 feet before becoming intimately familiar with the finer points of gravity.
While Higgins nailed the jump, his landing fell short of wowing the judges. The impact very nearly broke his truck in two. Despite the mechanical mayhem, the driver walked away without a scratch, proving that occasionally miracles really do happen. You can check out the jump and the subsequent destruction below for yourself. Be warned: there's a fair bit of foul language.

Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang is a lean, mean, Z/28-fighting machine [w/video]

Mon, 17 Nov 2014

If there's one thing you can count on, it's that the renewed rivalry between the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro will never, ever cease. For every version of Ford's pony car, there's an equally potent Chevrolet. And so with the debut of the Camaro Z/28 earlier this year, Ford has responded with a track-focused 'Stang of its own, resurrecting the Shelby GT350 name.
It looks to be a fine piece of work, this Mustang, with power coming from a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V8 that will produce "more than 500 horsepower" and "above 400" pound-feet of torque. That grunt runs to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, and a Torsen limited-slip differential keeps everything in line.
But that's hardly the most impressive piece of the GT350 puzzle. Ford has increased the Mustang GT's chassis stiffness for duty here in the Shelby, and the coupe employs MagneRide damping which automatically adjusts based on road conditions and driver inputs. It's a first both for the Blue Oval and for the segment. And speaking of firsts, the GT350 uses a flat-plane crankshaft - something Ford has never included in a production V8 before.

USPS releases hot rod stamps to speed up your delivery

Sun, 08 Jun 2014

After one of the worst winters in recent memory for much of the country, summer is finally here. It's time to drop the top, open the sunroof or at least put down the windows and take a long drive. The United States Postal Service is celebrating the season's sun in automotive style with two new hot rod Forever stamps.
Both stamps depict classic '32 Ford hot rods. One shows the car from the front at a low angle in red (pictured above), while the other depicts the car from the back in black with flames running down the side.
To introduce the new stamps on their first day of availability, the USPS went straight to the source at the National Street Rod Association Street Rod Nationals in York, PA. They were unveiled by Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe, Car Crazy host Barry Meguiar and NSRA Special Events Director Jerry Kennedy.
