i purchased this car a month ago from gas monkey garage as a barn find, i gave it a bath, tuned it up where it starts up just as fast as a new car, previous owners installed 5 new white wall firestone tires and 5 new rinms that cost $3000 total, the car has juice brakes on all 4 and stops very well , they look to be 1940 ford brakes including the master. car was restored a lonnnng time ago and showing age everywhere , body has some bubbles on the drivers side (see pictures) , i removed the kick panels to take a look inside and all original metal, no patches . doors are nice, interior is good, the rear corner panels below the headliner are warping (see pictures ) , the fenders are fiberglass , boards are all metal, hood is original and so on , it is a rumble seat coupe, and that seat is nice also , i have put about 200 miles on it since going through it and it runs great, it does leak oil when you shut it off, rear seal somewhere , but i havent had to add any in the 200 miles. it will leave a hand size spot . coolant has a drip here and there but nothing to worry over. its a fun driver but needs restored again or keep it like it is. my intentions were to hot rod it but its too complete to booger up, so im looking for a shell instead. will come with a clear title in my name, clear texas tags and inspection wich are current for almost a year. lights work , brake lights work, has new glass lenses, new hoses and coil and condenser, plugs. i will be driving it 40 miles to the decature texas swap meet sept 14th where it will also be for sale . ask questions, local buyers come take a look and lets go for a drive, car is old and sold as is, payment must clear befor car leaves me ! please look at the pictures , its an old car that needs tlc but a good driver the way it is , it does have minor exhaust leak and the engine does make some tick noises sometimes when full timing is advanced. i wouldnt be afraid to drive it anywhere . and lucky me buying it from the monkeys , it will be on tv in a month or too . please blow up the pictures, car does have old paint, flaws , rust spots , peels, and so on , its a great 20 footer , drivers glass has a crack in the corner also , all the rest of the glass is good, ALSO HAS AN AUTOLITE HEATER WICH SITS ON THE MANIFOLD that is included and does have the hole in the firewall for it and a swinging plate to open and close it like a stove. if you are wanting to purchase and only use paypal im ok with that but i do not want to pay the 3% fees, good luck bidders.
On Sep-08-13 at 16:09:12 PDT, seller added the following information:
for all rat rod , hot rod builders, you could purchase this car and sell the driving chassis for 3-4k depending on what you kept. (cough cough trade) i would be interested in a 1935 -1936 ford coupe that is complete minus eng/trans , with minimal rust roller . . i figured i throw that out there for options.

2015 Ford F-150 named Truck of Texas, Lincoln and Jeep also awarded at Truck Rodeo
Tue, 14 Oct 2014The Ford Motor Company has a lot of reasons to celebrate after winning eight categories in this year's Texas Auto Writers Association's annual Truck Rodeo. Most important among them, the Blue Oval's latest 2015 Ford F-150 earned the prestigious Truck of Texas award, ending the Ram 1500's two-year winning streak. The 2015 Lincoln MKC also grabbed the honor as the CUV of Texas, and Ford was named Truck Line of Texas.
FoMoCo even took trophies for best technology with its extensive use of aluminum on its latest F-Series and best commercial vehicle for the new Transit 250. It wasn't a total sweep, though, because the Jeep Grand Cherokee grabbed the title of the SUV of Texas for the fifth straight time.
This year's event put 60 auto writers in 75 pickups, SUVs and crossovers and challenged them to find the best in a plethora of categories. All of the winners are listed below, and scroll down to read the full announcements from the Texas Auto Writers Association and Ford.
Ford says utility vehicles are key to global growth
Tue, 26 Nov 2013While most of us believe that small, fuel efficient cars are the key to global expansion for US automakers, Jim Farley, Ford's vice president of Global Marketing, thinks otherwise. Last week, we attended an exclusive sneak preview of the Ford Edge Concept in advance of the Los Angeles Auto Show, and Farley told us that it's actually utility vehicles that will help the Blue Oval gain market share overseas. "There is no other segment in our industry that is growing like utilities," he said. "We expect over the next five years this full family of [utility] vehicles to really drive our growth as a company."
And Farley has the numbers to back it up, too. Ford projects overall automotive sales to grow 23 percent from 2012 to 2017, but the company's utility vehicles are expected to boom by an impressive 41 percent during that same period. Much of that growth will be in China, where Ford estimates its utility sales will explode. "The biggest opportunity for us globally for utilities is in China," Farley said. "China utility growth is expected to more than double from where it is today to 2017, which isn't that far away." Most astounding is that Ford projects its own utility sales in China will eventually increase by more than 2,000 percent when smaller crossovers, such as the EcoSport and Kuga (sold as the Escape in North America), and the Edge and Explorer, are factored in.
Ford's VP also expects utilities to lead the way in the struggling European market. "With all the difficulties of the European market, there is one segment that has actually expanded in volume over the last several years even though the market is way down, and that's utilities," Farley told us. Ford estimates that their utility sales will grow 65 percent in Europe from 2012-2017. "The utility segment is projected to grow we think about thirty percent between now and 2017 in Europe, and we think we are going to grow twice that rate as a brand," Farley continued.
Ford Gets The Aluminum F-150 Ready For Prime Time
Wed, Nov 12 2014Russell Barnett, a Ford dealer in Tennessee, is ready for aluminum. Ford is using the metal almost exclusively in body of the 2015 version of its best-selling F-150 pickup, which starts arriving at dealerships next month. Barnett is already answering customers' questions about the truck. And he's updated his repair shop not only for the F-150, but in anticipation that other Ford brands such as the Mustang will eventually make the switch from steel. But, just in case, he ordered some extra steel-bodied 2014 pickups. "There will be some people who won't want to change for a while," says Barnett, who says pickups make up around half of the annual sales at his dealership in rural Winchester. Ford is doubling down on aluminum, which is lighter - and more expensive - than steel but just as tough. The new truck is the company's response to customers' requests for a more fuel-efficient and nimbler pickup. Fordhopes the advantages outweigh customer doubts about the durability of aluminum or potential repair costs for the pricier metal. It's a big risk. So far this year, one out of every three vehicles Ford sold in the U.S. was an F-Series pickup. Morgan Stanley estimates F-Series trucks account for 90 percent of Ford's global automotive profit. On Tuesday, it kicked off production of the new truck at its Dearborn Truck Plant, four miles from the company's headquarters. "Yeah, this is a risk, but it's one well worth taking." said Bill Ford, the company's executive chairman, as he stood alongside the assembly line. "For our customer, this is a big, big leap forward." The trucks have been the best-selling vehicles in the U.S. for 32 straight years; last year, Ford sold nearly 100,000 more full-size pickups than General Motors. Aluminum isn't new to the auto industry, but this is the first time it will cover the entire body of such a high-volume vehicle. Ford made 647,697 F-150 pickups at its two U.S. plants last year; that's one every 49 seconds. If Ford's bet pays off, it could pad its lead in the lucrative truck market. More importantly, aluminum "future proofs" the truck - and the company - in an era of rising fuel economy standards, says Karl Brauer, a senior analyst with Kelley Blue Book. Ford will announce the truck's fuel economy figures later this month. That could determine if it steals customers away from the Silverado or Ram. Truck buyers are among the most loyal in the auto market.
