1928 Ford Model A Tudor "Rat Rod"

2013 New Orleans World of Wheels Best in Class Winner

Someone might ask, "Why would someone sell this car?"

It was not an easy decision. Growing Family.....

I love this car. Theres alot of blood, sweat, and tears in every inch of it. This car comes with a complete pictorial log of when it was picked up from a farm in Missouri, built by the previous owner, when I bought the car, the work I put into it, and all receipts for parts and material. As you all know, this is rare to have such a history on a car but when you have a passion for something "Like a child" thats what you do.

Now about the car.

This car is a 1928 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan Rat Rod.

Original frame has been boxed with 3/16"plate for strength and Zee'd with 2"x4"x3/16" tubing to tuck the rearend. The body was knotched to "Hide the Rails" for a cleaner stance. Body has new patch panels and was chopped 5" and channeled 4" for lowering. Car sits about waist high when air bags are lowered.

Roof and sides were reinforced with 1" steel tubing. Side and back glass are tinted brown laminated safety glass and front windshield is clear laminated safety glass. Doors have working window regulators and latches. Roof was topped off with oak ribs and snaps were installed for adding a canvas top.

Engine, stearing column, peddle assembly, and dash came from a 1967 Ford F100. Engine was completely rebuilt with new bearings, rings, oil pump, pins, pistons, and seals. Crank was polished and oil holes chanfered. Has great oil pressure. Heads were machined surface, new seats for springs, valve guides, polished intake and exaust, new Thumper Comp Cam w/matching springs, and Stainless Steel High Flow Valves. Intake is a single plane aluminum with a 3 duece adapter and correct Ford 3 Duece Holley set up. Motor has a solid looping sound.

Front end is a 4" drop Super Bell "I"beam front axel with original split wishbone suicide frontend. New reverse eye slider spring. Frontend complete hub to hub from Speedway.

Transmission is a T-5 5 speed. This transmission came from a 86' Mustang and was completely rebuilt.

Rear end can from a 89'Lincoln Mark 7 with 327 gears with new calipers and pads. Parking brake also works. Triangular 4-link with air bags that are manually fill from an old brass fire extinguisher air tank mounted in back.

Plenty of custom touches.

Air Horn and Oogha Horn.

Original Spare Tire.

Master cylinder is a Corvette style with added front brake lock on "10 Ball" shifter.

Copper trim on front end, motor, interior, and around top.

LED lighting on interior and LED in motor scope that is tied to coil so the light dances with motor. Very cool when you see it.

I know theres some things I forgot but with a car like this its easy too.

If you have any questions please contact me. Buyer assumes all responsiblity for shipping. I can assist with loading.

Car is for sale locally so sale may end early.

I hope the person that wins this car loves it as much as the previous owner and myself. This is a head turner and a car show winner with multible awards. So you will not be disappointed. Just make sure you spend extra time when traveling because getting gas normally last around 30 min. "People love to talk about it"

A payment for $500 is due at end of auction.

Thanks for checking it out ...... Happy Biding.

Shelby GT350 stars in 2015 Monterey Motorsports Reunion

Sun, Aug 16 2015

Scoping out classic racing machinery sitting at Monterey Car Week is a lovely experience. We're always stoked to see some of these priceless pieces of metal wherever we can, up close and personal. But we all know that where they really belong is on the racetrack. That's where the Monterey Motorsports Reunion comes in, and this year's event was a thrilling spectacle. Sponsored as always by Rolex and held at the legendary Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, this year's reunion brought together a wide array of tantalizing machinery from the annals of racing history. There were Can-Am racers – some of the fastest and most powerful competition equipment ever devised – of every color, and more racing Porsches than you could shake a titanium connecting rod at. But the biggest part of the spectacle was the Shelby GT350. That most venerable of classic Mustangs served as the featured marque this year as it celebrated its 50th anniversary. Auspicious timing, considering that Ford has now brought it back. But fans of the original will want to check out the dozens of snake-bitten pony cars doing their thing on one of America's finest racing circuits. Check out the GT350s, captured through the lens of our own master shutterbug, Drew Phillips, in the gallery above, and the full array of reunited vintage racers in the second gallery below the video.

Uber hopes facilities in Detroit will help shape its autonomous future

Mon, Sep 19 2016

Hot off the heels of unleashing its fleet of self-driving vehicles in Pittsburgh, PA, Uber announced plans to open a new facility in the Detroit, MI area, reports Automotive News. The new facility was announced at an event hosted by Society of Automotive Engineers in Detroit, MI. Uber's vice president of global vehicle programs Sherif Marakby revealed the news, reports Automotive News. The facility is meant to help the ride-sharing company collaborate with suppliers and automakers in the area. There's no word on where Uber will build the new facility or how big it will be, as those factors have yet to be determined. Just like Pittsburgh, PA, Detroit, MI could become another testing ground for the ride-sharing company. The latest move to open a facility in the Detroit area comes after Uber offered users in Pittsburgh the chance to ride in one of its autonomous vehicle as it looks to gain vital real-world testing. Uber is utilizing a fleet of modified Ford Fusions. Earlier this year in April, the automaker announced a partnership with Google, Lyft, Uber, and Volvo to develop autonomous cars. A new facility in Detroit would strengthen the partnership and help Uber, as well as Ford put autonomous vehicles on the road faster. Weekly Recap: Hackers demonstrate auto industry's vulnerability

Sat, Jul 25 2015

There's always been a certain risk associated with driving, and this week cyber security came into focus as the latest danger zone when researchers demonstrated how easily they could hack into a 2014 Jeep Cherokee from across the country. The incident raised concerns over the vulnerability of today's cars, many of which double as smartphones and hot spots. During the now-infamous experiment, Chris Valasek and Charlie Miller infiltrated the Jeep's cellular connection and were able to control the infotainment system, brakes, and other functions. The hackers told the Jeep's maker, FCA US, of their findings last year, the company devised a software fix. Though Valesek and Miller hacked a Cherokee (like the one shown above), several FCA products, including recent versions of the Ram, Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango, and Viper were also affected, illustrating potentially wide exposure that could reverberate across the sector. "For the auto industry, this is a very important event and shows that cyber-security protection is needed even sooner than previously planned," Egil Juliussen, senior analyst and research director for IHS Automotive, wrote in a research note. "Five years ago, the auto industry did not consider cyber security as a near-term problem. This view has changed." Hours after the Cherokee hacking incident was publicized on Tuesday, Sens. Ed Markey (D-Mass) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn) introduced legislation to direct the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Federal Trade Commission to establish national standards for automotive cyber security. The bill also would require vehicles to have a cyber-rating system to alert consumers how well their cars' privacy and security are defended. "Drivers shouldn't have to choose between being connected and being protected," Markey said in a statement. "We need clear rules of the road that protect cars from hackers and American families from data trackers." Though FCA and its Jeep Cherokee were in the spotlight this time, they were just the latest to showcase how automotive technology has advanced faster than safety and regulatory measures. IHS forecasts 82.5 million cars will be connected to the internet by 2022, which is more than three times today's level. "Cyber-security will become a major challenge for the auto industry and solutions are long overdue," Juliussen said.
