This is a beautifully restored 1928 roadster pick up. This is all steel body, not the repro cab, the original cab. There are alot of powder coated parts. The black is OEM, Its just a shade under the real shinny black. I payed close attention to every little detail on the car. The body and paint was done professionally. The rear end was disassembled and parts that were needed were replaced. Also the transmission was gone through as well as the brakes. The radiator was re cored . Tires have a little over 2,500 miles on them. The king pins and front wheel bearings are also new. The steering column was not taken apart and is a 1930/31. The engine was purchased from a friend, cant say exactly how many miles is on it, he thought it had over 10,000 after an engine re builder in Ashland, Oregon went through it. It runs, and shifts good. The engine doesnt use oil and doesnt heat up on the hottest of days. The brakes work real good considering they are the original style mechanical brakes. The top bows are original, the top is a LE Barron Boney. The back window center rolls up for nice cooling in the summer. The seat and door panels are the original style and color. The seat has had extra padding installed for more comfort. The lights all work,it has a drum tail light in the rear and fluted head light lens. The dog rode in the car and put a few small scratches on the seat. I didnt build this car to sell it, but do to unfortunate circumstances I am selling it.If you like the pictures, the pick up is even more attractive when seen in person. If sold out of the state of Oregon I would like to keep the 1928 license plates. If you would like to drive and inspect the pick up you are welcome to.The vehicle is sold in as is condition. I would like $200.00  deposited in PAY PAL  very shortly after end of auction. Within 7 days after end of auction, I would like a check sent to me for the balance of the amount. When the check clears the car can be picked up.Also I will store the car for you for a month or possibly longer after auction. If you would like more information, call me at 541 899 7176. Also I can give you a number of a reputable model a engine re builder in this area who rode in and looked the car over. Please dont bid unless you are serious. Buyer is responsable  for shipping.Thanks.

Ford GT gets sexy shape and EcoBoost power [w/videos]

Mon, Jan 12 2015

American automakers make vehicles of all shapes and sizes, but the one thing they almost invariably share in common is their front-engine layout. Niche offerings from the likes of SSC, Saleen and Vector (and the almost anecdotal Pontiac Fiero) aside, the most notable exception has been the Ford GT. And now it's back. Launched on the floor of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the new Ford GT picks up where the last one left off the better part of a decade ago – similarly taking its cues from the original, Le Mans-winning GT40, but in a less retro, more modern form. Instead of the atmospheric V8 in the original or the supercharged one in the retro revival, the new GT packs a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 nestled in the middle of its wheelbase and driving "more than 600 horsepower" to the rear wheels. Although Ford hasn't revealed the specific output or performance figures, it says the engine – derived from its Daytona Prototype unit and mated to a seven-speed DCT – is its most powerful production EcoBoost ever. Fortunately it's got carbon-ceramic brakes to keep it all in check, packed into 20-inch wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 rubber. The discs aren't all that's made from carbon on the new Ford GT, though: it's built around a carbon monocoque with structural carbon-fiber body panels, but with aluminum sub-frames front and back. Ford designed the new GT with a narrower canopy than its predecessors, cutting the frontal aerodynamic profile and tapering towards the back. It's also equipped with active aero elements including an active rear wing. Upwards swinging doors ought to make ingress and egress easier to and from the cockpit that's fitted with fixed seats, adjustable pedals and F1-style steering wheel and a fully digital instrument cluster. The new GT is set to enter production next year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the GT40's famous 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. By the time it does, we're sure Ford will let us know just how fast America's newest supercar will be.

Ford not backing down on MPG-based marketing strategy

Thu, Jun 26 2014

The Blue Oval may have to back off a bit from the green messaging. Ford has had to lower fuel-economy ratings on a number of 2013 and 2014 model-year vehicles, namely its hybrids. And that may force the US automaker to rethink some of its marketing strategy, Automotive News reports. Ford has spent much of the year pushing its fuel-efficiency improvements, with everything from a Super Bowl ad saying its Fusion Hybrid gets "almost double" the fuel efficiency of an average vehicle (after the recalculation, it's now more like 75 percent better) to claiming the Fiesta is the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid in the US (it's actually the Mitsubishi Mirage) to stating the C-Max Hybrid gets better fuel economy than the Toyota Prius V (it doesn't). Nonetheless, Ford doesn't plan on changing its mpg marketing emphasis anytime soon, the company said in an e-mailed statement to AutoblogGreen. "Providing customers great fuel economy is a key part of our Ford vehicle DNA." "Providing customers great fuel economy is a key part of our Ford vehicle DNA," the company said. "We will continue to highlight our vehicles features and attributes in our advertising and marketing, which includes fuel economy and fuel-saving technologies like EcoBoost and hybrids." Earlier this month, Ford said it would lower the fuel-economy ratings of models such as the C-Max, Fusion and Lincoln MKZ Hybrids as well as most of the Fiesta line because of mistakes in the company's internal testing data. It was the second change for the C-Max Hybrid. The good news for Ford is that its fleetwide fuel economy is up almost 40 percent from a decade ago, compared to an improvement of around 23 percent for Toyota. Still, while sales of Ford hybrids and plug-ins are about even with last year through the first five months of 2014, C-Max Hybrid sales have plunged 49 percent from a year earlier. Earlier this year, Ford admitted that the first fuel economy downgrade had a negative effect on sales and we can find proof in the numbers. Before that the change was announced, in August 2013, Ford was consistently selling over 2,000 – and sometimes over 3,000 – C-Max Hybrids a month. In September, it dropped to 1,424, then to 1,438 in October. It didn't climb back above 2,000 until May 2014. The second mpg adjustment was announced in June.
