Selling our 1969 Ford Galaxie 500. It has the 351w, automatic transmission, front disc brakes 2 door sports roof model. It has 100727 original miles. Car drives nice and stops nice too. Sounds good and healthy. interior: black in color. newly upholstered seats front and back with cloth not vinyl. very nice carpet no tears or rips in it. door panels nice and un-warped. original very nice headliner (has a few holes no bigger than id say a 50 cent piece). dash is very very nice no cracks or anything. gas gauge works to half a tank, I just keep it full all the time. glass is all good no cracks. has the original left hand side radio that still works, also has a new aftermarket installed on the floor CD player. heater works. has the original AC with belt still attached, just needs charged. wipers work. horn works. lights all work (high and low). signals work. exterior: blue in color. no dents. a few minor bubbling spots, mainly behind the front or rear tires (not a lot). behind back window is rust free and NO bubbles. chrome is all nice and present except for front pass. side bumper has a bit of peeling going on. all stainless trim is present and in nice shape. door jambs are nice and solid. has cragar ss wheels on it. fronts are 235 60 15 and rears are 275 60 15. All tires are in nice shape except front pass. side needs replaced as it is maybe 40% tread. has the original Hi-Jacker air shocks on it. cragars I was told are period correct. has extra set of new coil springs for it. drives fine the way it is. cragars have a bit of rust but nothing horrible. still very presentable. nice car overall. I have had it since July of last year. We are wanting a wagon now for the extra room. I have drove it from Boise Idaho to the Oregon coast and back within a 2 day period. Very reliable, drive it anywhere. Used no oil and about 1 quart of tranny fluid. has a bit of a leak but no worries as long as I keep it full. I do have a new filter and gasket for it but never installed it yet. I found the car in Eastern Washington state. It was in a barn and had been for the past 15 years. It was really nasty and dirty. I knew I could see past the dirt and grime and have a diamond. I had it detailed and it looks very nice. Has few engine upgrades like, edelbrock intake, edelbrock carb, headers, dual exhaust and electronic ignition. has a spacious trunk with no rust issues at all. underneath of car is nice and solid too. If any questions feel free to ask me.

Shelby GT350 stars in 2015 Monterey Motorsports Reunion

Sun, Aug 16 2015

Scoping out classic racing machinery sitting at Monterey Car Week is a lovely experience. We're always stoked to see some of these priceless pieces of metal wherever we can, up close and personal. But we all know that where they really belong is on the racetrack. That's where the Monterey Motorsports Reunion comes in, and this year's event was a thrilling spectacle. Sponsored as always by Rolex and held at the legendary Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, this year's reunion brought together a wide array of tantalizing machinery from the annals of racing history. There were Can-Am racers – some of the fastest and most powerful competition equipment ever devised – of every color, and more racing Porsches than you could shake a titanium connecting rod at. But the biggest part of the spectacle was the Shelby GT350. That most venerable of classic Mustangs served as the featured marque this year as it celebrated its 50th anniversary. Auspicious timing, considering that Ford has now brought it back. But fans of the original will want to check out the dozens of snake-bitten pony cars doing their thing on one of America's finest racing circuits. Check out the GT350s, captured through the lens of our own master shutterbug, Drew Phillips, in the gallery above, and the full array of reunited vintage racers in the second gallery below the video.

This is what a 3D-printed liquid metal Ford Torino looks like

Sat, 12 Oct 2013

Artist Ioan Florea has encapsulated a 1971 Ford Torino with 3-D-printed liquid metal transferred onto the car using technology that he developed, and the result is a stunningly shiny, seamless design.
"The surface has the highest coefficient of reflectivity never achieved before," Florea told us in an e-mail, using "nano-materials and nano-pigments that create an internal three-dimensional structure and dictate the polymer how to behave." Sure... We'll leave it to him to make any more 3-D-printed liquid metal-transferred art pieces.
Florea grew up in Romania, and the motivation behind picking the old Ford as his canvas came from his childhood memories of what an American car is - "big and wide and fascinating," he says - and the European name of the car itself, which it shares with an Italian city.
