Up for auction we have a 1967 Ford Galaxie 500 Full body custom car .
This car has been beautifully done with top notch metal and body work . Every panel on this car has been modified and yet the body is laser straight , no waves or ripples present when the body is sited down the side . The car has been done for 23 years and yet the 2 stage urethane paint is perfect , the body work shows no signs of cracking or of any work coming apart this is the true sign of the welding and body work being done correctly so no worries . This is a quality custom.
Let's move onto what Mods have been done .
1) A 1968 XL nose was added to the car , a Custom grill from a Mercury Marauder was added to that . The scoop on the hood is a Fox body Mustang Cobra scoop opened to allow for air flow under the hood . The front bumper mounting bolt heads have been smoothed into the bumper for a seamless look .

2) The original mirrors were removed from the doors and sport aero mirrors were added .
The exterior mount door handles and locks were removed and flush mount door handles were frenched in.

3) The quarter have been lengthened and the lower accent line removed , bubble cruising skirts were then sunk into the panels and blended smooth (these are removable for tire and brake service) . The taillights are 1968 Ford Custom and are tunneled into the ends of the quarters .

4) The rear end of the car has had extensive work as well , first the trunk lid was smoothed and the external lock removed . A decorative continental kit has been added to the top of the deck lid . The rear bumper was cut apart and new ends were formed to cradle the taillight tunnels ,the gaps are perfect . the rear bumper like the front has had the attaching bolts welded in and the heads smoothed off .

5) A full Black padded top was added along with color keyed top moldings .

6) All of the trim has been fully sanded , etched and painted in body color . All of the emblems and side trim has been removed and the holes filled .

7) The glass has been beautifuly etched and colored in . This includes the rear Quarter windows and the back window . All other windows are perfect and scratch free .

8) The interior was left untouched by major modification and instead was detailed with green accents including lighting that glows green when the doors are opened.
A mahogany and polished aluminum steering wheel was added along with a premium radio and EQ . There is a Pro style shifter stand alone mounted on the floor complete with T handle . Gauges are mounted on the bottom of the dash to keep track of vital engine pressures and temps . Also note worthy , there is a quick release handle mounted on the rear package shelf to open the trunk .

9) The mechanicals of the car are in perfect condition and will require no work ,just normal maintenance .
The engine was replaced 5000 miles ago and upgraded from a 240 six cyl one barrel to a 300 Six with a offenhouser manifold with a 390 cfm 4 barrel holley and faux dual exhaust which features a custom head pipe splitting the exhaust into 2 pipes with dual turbo mufflers and tailpipes ending in chrome tips tucked nicely under the rear bumper .                                                                                                                        ,   Disc brakes were added to the front to replace the standard drums with all new rotors ,pads , lines , master and adjustable proportioning valve .                                                ,The Steering was upgraded as well from manual to a power set-up . Front end serviced with all new parts and was then properly aligned .
The radiator was replaced with a larger unit to keep temperature balance to the increase in engine power .A elelectric cooling fan was also added for those extra hot summer nights .                                                                                                                 All the belts and hoses ,have been replaced along with heater lines and heater core .
Transmission and rear end were also serviced with new seals and fluids and adjustments as well. They function normally , the trans shifts cleanly and the rear end is quite and vibration free .

In closing I will state this is a turn key custom Ford needing nothing but normal care and maintenance to keep it trouble free.

I encourage you to ask questions , all will be answered to the best of my and the owners ability .

I am selling this car for a friend of mine he is the owner and builder of the car .

Thanks for viewing my auction !

Galpin Ford GTR1 supercar debuts in Monterey

Fri, 16 Aug 2013

Galpin Auto Sports has finally taken the wraps off the car we first previewed back in December, the Galpin Ford GTR1. A few weeks ago, we posted the first hints of just what the GTR1 would be capable of, with Galpin teasing that its 5.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 would produce in excess of 1000 horsepower, with a top speed of 225 miles per hour. Package all that in a coachbuilt body, and you have the recipe for one wicked supercar.
The price for the carbon fiber-bodied car is $1,024,000.
Now, we have all the glorious details. Galpin is targeting a production run of six cars, but if interest is strong enough, will expand its initial quote to 24 vehicles. The price for the carbon fiber-bodied car is $1,024,000. Opting for the aluminum bodywork could lower that, although it's not immediately clear by how much.

What car should James Robertson buy to drive his famous 21-mile commute?

Thu, Feb 5 2015

The Internet has been abuzz this week with the story of Detroit resident James Robertson, the 56-year-old factory worker who has walked some 21 miles to work for the last 10 years. The Detroit Free Press brought Robertson's story to the fore, helping an online fundraising campaign to generate more than $275,000 (as of this writing). The original goal was just $5,000, or about enough to replace the used Honda that died on Robertson back in 2005, and left him walking. So, newly flush with funds, what's the perfect car for Robertson to buy? Let's look at the specifics of his situation, and try to pick out the best options. Here's what we know: Robertson's commute is (famously) 21 miles; he lives in downtown Detroit (for now) and seems pretty humble, so something very flashy is probably out; former Honda aside, his ties to the city (and statements about being a Ford fan) seem to indicate a Detroit Three company product is best; he's a single guy with a girlfriend; he's got to deal with Michigan weather, and the sometimes fickle snow removal processes in The D. Here are some choices: Ford F-150 Robertson is on record as being a Taurus fan, and after a decade of walking I've no doubt that the big sedan would offer a cozy respite. Still, as a car guy and a student of the industry, I'd have a hard time recommending a sedan so clearly in need of replacement. Especially when The Blue Oval has such great stuff within the rest of its roster. The 2015 F-150 seems almost perfect for Robertson. Opting for either of the new EcoBoost V6 engines should help keep fuel bills in reasonable check, while healthy ride height and four-wheel drive will get him to work on time even during the snowiest of snow days. Better still, with a fat options sheet and car-like ride quality, Robertson can have just about every amenity he might want, in a package that won't disrespect his blue-collar roots. Chevrolet Colorado You guys saw this one coming, right? The smaller footprint of the midsize Chevy pickup, relative to some of the other options here, should be an advantage for urban parking and driving. And again, 4x4 is an option for the nasty weather, the running costs should stay pretty low and there aren't many tech/luxury features that can't be had in-cabin. I'd go ahead and splash out on the Crew Cab bodystyle, too, just in case Robertson feels like starting a carpool.

Ford celebrating 80 years of Aussie utes as it prepares to shutter Oz manufacturing

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

Ford is ending Australian production after 90 years in 2016, and with it may go perhaps the most iconic vehicles in its auto market - the ute. Car-based pickup trucks like the Ford Ranchero and Chevrolet El Camino were always more of a curiosity than a true market force here, but in Australia, they have long proven hugely popular.
As the legend goes, Ford invented the niche after a farmer's wife had asked Ford Australia's managing director for a more utilitarian car. Her request was simple: "My husband and I can't afford a car and a truck but we need a car to go to church on Sunday and a truck to take the pigs to market on Monday. Can you help?"
Ford's design team came up with a two-passenger, enclosed, steel coupe body with glass windows and a steel-paneled, wooden-frame load area in the rear. The sides of the bed were blended into the body to make it look more unified, and to keep costs down, the front end and interior were based on the Ford Model 40 five-window coupe. Power came from a V8 with shifting chores handled by a three-speed manual. Within a year, the new vehicle was ready, and production began in 1934. Lead designer Lewis Bandt christened it the coupe-utility.
