PLEASE READ....This exact listing was originally listed on ebay nearly one week ago. It was viewed by more then 1000 persons and being watched by nearly 75 ebay accounts. After two persons recently sent messages to me stating that the discription was not in English I contacted ebay @9 a.m. on the morning of 4/10 to inquire what was happening with my listing (item #121090207684). Ebay acknowledged that my listing / account had been Hacked and that the bulk of the discription was converted to a foreign language. All I can say is that the internet is a Very Cruel Place and that Fact Is Stranger Than Fiction. Ebay immediatly terminated the listing at 6:08 (PST) and sent an email explaining such to all persons who had bid on the car. A copy of the ebays correspondences confirming this unauthorized atltering is shown at the very bottom of this discription. I requested that Ebay send a similar email to all accounts who were "watching the ad" but they refused to do so. If you want to see the hacked verbiage compared to the below listing (original prior to Hacking) go to ; Preferences...Search Option...And click on the "Completed Listings tab". Quite frankly there is no one more disappointed than I am! With that being said the following is the ad as originally generated ;

This car was purchased new by my wife and I from Chapman Ford in Lancaster Pennsylvania in early November of 2005. Soon thereafter the car was shipped to our home on Long Island. As you can imagine the car driven and thoroughly enjoyed. The car was always maintained through Sayville Ford in Sayville, New York (Long Island). All of our service records will come with the vehicle. As detailed below and as shown in the ads photos we have every document, brochure, letter, tag, sticker, invoice, build-sheet, bar-code, parer work, etc.etc.etc. related to this car. We are selling the car due to us having two children entering college with another in her third year of college. Although this was to be "Our Forever Car" life is full of disappointments and the unexpected! (I.e. Hackers) Always having placed family as the paramount priority in life leads us to this juncture wherein we are letting go of our beloved Ford GT #593.

The car was involved in a accident in June of 2009.While driving at 40 mph I successfully avoided a very deep pothole but unfortunately lost control of the car despite my best efforts. The car spun 180 degrees and then hit a 3" high curb with a bias edge. The car continued over the curb an slid across a flat 16' wide grass median before stopping on the opposite side of the road. The car never hit another car nor any other object other then the curb. Having little to no confidence in local companies and/or dealers to re-mediate the car, I did extensive research and ultimately contacted The GT Guy in South Rockwood Michigan. After speaking with them I knew that they were/are the frontrunners in Ford GT know how, technology, experience, ability and a reputation that is second to none. I then put the GT in my enclosed trailer and personally delivered it to The GT Guy. The work was preformed to the highest standard and there is absolutely NO sign of the previous incident.The mileage on the car at this time was 10,406.

The parts that were replaced are as follows; two front rims/one rear rim/three tires/RF hub and bearing assembly/half shaft/RR hub and bearing assembly/RR knuckle/RR upper & lower control arm/RR toe link/RR shock assembly/front fender/front fascia/splitter/diffuser/marker light. The total for these parts was $19,129.45. There was no structural damage, no deployment of air bag(s) and all things considered minimal damage (if there is such a thing) .  ALL RECIEPTS FOR THE WORK have been retained however no pictures exist unless taken Geico (On a personal level I have always had something against taking/keeping photos of things or events that were undesirable).

While the car was at The GT Guy we had them install a Heffner Pulley & Engine Tune (with the spark plugs being properly gaped), a GTG X-Cat Back Exhaust (see pictures) and a GTG Clam Shell Release Hooks (this allows you to engage both engine hood releases at once from one side of the car or the other-see pictures). The car was Dyno'd at Baseline HP and also after performance upgrades to verify HP increase. The car Dyno'd at 550 HP and 640 HP respectively. The following is a summary of flaws which currently exist on the car; rear tires need replacement, the flapper valve on the stem leading to the gas tank allows gas intake at a slower then usual rate, three small paint chips within the engine bay on the frame reinforcing members ( see pictures of engine bay...difficult to see),one 1/8"paint chip on the front passenger fender (see picture) and minor abrasions to three rims.

I will honestly answer any questions that may arise once you have looked at the ad. Thank-you for your interest and can only hope that the car goes to someone who will enjoy it as much as we did.

Gods Blessing's to you.

New Ford Escape spied inside and out

Fri, Jun 26 2015

For the 2016 model year, the Ford Escape receives the Blue Oval's latest Sync 3 infotainment system and some minor tweaks to the color and trim options. Based on these new spy shots, it would appear that the crossover is due for some much bigger changes not too far into the future, as well. The thorough refresh isn't just an exterior styling update, either. Ford's designers are giving the future Escape a front end that's a bit more in the style of the latest Edge, at least based on these shots. Peek behind the mesh obscuring the grille, and the styling there now appears to have a hexagonal shape with horizontal slats and a smaller, lower intake. At the same time, the headlights are narrower and come to a sharper point as they wrap around the fender. The heavy camouflage makes the changes at the back harder to spot, although the taillights seem subtly tweaked with a similar overall shape but a clear stripe cutting through the center. The Escape also seems to be receiving a completely different center stack inside, but the area is still well concealed. The gearshift moves down between the seats, and that allows physical controls for the radio and HVAC to take that real estate. It's possible that the infotainment screen might pop up from the mesh-covered area you can see at the top of the interior photos. Take a look through the gallery for some detailed shots of Ford's camouflaged crossover.

James May picks 13 most significant cars ever for London Classic Car Show

Fri, Jan 2 2015

James May tends to be the most pragmatic of the Top Gear UK hosting crew. Jeremy Clarkson obviously likes his vehicles loud, brash and preferably British, and Richard Hammond seems to have a thing for American muscle. May appears to find joy just in the mechanical nature of things, whether high performance or simply made for getting around. He's getting a chance to put that appreciation on display by curating a 13-car collection at the London Classic Car Show called The Cars That Changed The World. May actually wants to provoke debate from visitors about the exhibit and is separating his choices into two categories: The Halls of Obviousness and The Chambers of Bloody-mindedness. The first bunch includes the usual important vehicles you expect to see, but the other group has the really interesting picks. As May explains these selections in the event announcement, "I believe they are just as significant historically but they've simply been forgotten or misunderstood." The obvious choices are: 1886 Benz Motorwagen 1908 Ford Model T 1938 Volkswagen Beetle 1959 Austin Mini 1964 Ford Mustang 1997 Toyota Prius And the more eccentric ones are: 1901 Waverley Electric 1906 Cadillac Model K 1933 Standard Superior 1972 Honda Civic 1980 Lada Riva 2009 Bruno ExoMars Rover If you notice, there are only 12 vehicles listed above. That's because the final one is being kept secret for show attendees, but May considers it the most significant car ever made. The London Classic Car Show runs at the ExCeL in London's Docklands from January 8-11, 2015. In addition to May's exhibit and the other vehicles there, Formula 1 designer Adrian Newey is also curating a display from his own collection. May is hoping to spur conversations with his choices. Let us know in Comments if you notice any glaring omissions that should be among the 13. Read the full announcement below, along with a brief explanation for each choice from May. GET READY FOR A CLASSIC ARGUMENT 30/12/14 James May has chosen the 13 most significant cars of all time for The London Classic Car Show... but is he right? It's bold, controversial and bound to cause arguments... and that's just the way BBC Top Gear's James May wants it. May has stuck his neck on the line and has chosen what he regards are the 13 most influential cars of all time. The result is The Cars That Changed The World and it's one of the star exhibits at the London Classic Car Show taking place at ExCeL in London's Docklands from 8-11 January 2015.

FCA UConnect fiasco could set over-the-air updates back years

Fri, Feb 16 2018

Since cars have become more software dependent, most major automakers have been inching toward enabling over-the-air updates to keep vehicle electronics, ranging from infotainment systems to safety features, current. But there are only two car companies — Fiat Chrysler and Ford —± currently doing OTA updates, and on a limited basis. GM CEO Mary Barra announced last summer that the automaker will launch a new EV architecture and infotainment system capable of over-the-air updates "before 2020." The one exception, per usual, is Tesla. Since the release of the Model S almost six years ago, the maverick EV automaker has made routine OTA software updates a core part of its vehicle platforms and value proposition, and has sent out updates for everything from adjusting ride height to enabling Autopilot, largely without incident. When I've asked automakers why they can't do the same thing, I've heard reasons ranging from running afoul of their dealers (and archiac regulation) to security concerns. Automakers like Ford and General Motors say they want to act like tech companies, which routinely send out OTA updates for a wide range of devices, but overall the car industry still moves at a very cautious snail's pace. And when automakers do try to move faster and take more risks — unlike with a smartphone update, which people bitch about but live with — the consequences can be significant when things go wrong. That's the case with Fiat Chrysler America and its recent public-relations nightmare when an OTA update went awry. The update went out at the end of last week for the Uconnect system in late-model vehicles, and it made head units go into a near continuous reboot, which caused owners to not only lose access to entertainment features, but also critical functions like emergency assistance. Almost immediately, owners took to Twitter to express outrage, and FCA was caught flatfooted. A tweet went out on Monday on the UconnectCares Twitter account that read, "Certain 2017 & 2018 Uconnect systems may experience a reboot every 45-60 seconds. Our Engineering teams are investigating the cause and working towards a resolution.
