2002 Ford Focus Svt Hatchback 3-door 2.0l on 2040-cars

I am selling my 2002 Ford Focus SVT. It is a 4 cylinder, 6 speed manual. Currently approximately 124,000 miles on it.
Upgrades and repairs: - Cold air intake - High flow exhaust (just replaced the catalytic converter with a $500 aftermarket high flow converter to re-position the O2 sensors so they don't get beat up by the bottom of the motor. - The O2 sensors were replaced with the cat - Aftermarket rims - Sunroof - Custom fiberglass hood w/ hood scoop - Brand new front sway bar links - Brand new rear motor mount - Replaced valve cover seal and spark plugs - Replaced driver's side window mount and motor - New alternator - Replaced PCV gasket - Have new timing belt, pulleys and water pump that will come with the car Everything I replaced was replaced within the last couple months and I have put less than 500 miles on it since, so all those parts are brand new. I hate to sell it, but I have too many cars and not enough time, money or space for all of them. I'm trying to go back to school in the fall so I could use the money. Overall, it is in good shape. It runs and drives very well and with a few tweaks could be an excellent car. There is minor body damage (dents, dings, etc...) but not bad for a 2002. The engine light is on, but it is not a major issue (possibly a short somewhere). The inspection was renewed this month. |

1964 Ford GT40 prototype sells for $7M
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Seven-figure Ferraris are not horribly rare. Heck, an eight-figure Ferrari isn't a rare occurrence. Between modern masterpieces like the Enzo and more classic offerings, cracking the million-dollar mark isn't a particularly tall order for the cars from Maranello. For a Ford, though, it's a big deal.
Now, this is not just some rare Mustang. This is a GT40, the car that Henry Ford II commissioned to whip Enzo Ferrari around a track in France. As far as the Le Mans-winning racers go, they don't get much rarer than this one. Sold at the Mecum Auctions in Houston, this is one of the prototypes, meaning it's one of the very first GT40s ever built. That makes its $7 million winning a bid, a record for on-air coverage of the auction, a pretty darn impressive figure.

Watch how Ford torture-tested the 2015 F-150
Wed, 09 Apr 2014The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in the United States for the past 37 years, and the best-selling vehicle outright for the past 32. That's quite a legacy, and thus, it's no surprise that Ford worked super-duper-extra hard on creating the all-new, aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
During an event at the company's headquarters in Dearborn, MI this week, we were able to see all of the ways that Ford endurance tests, not just the new F-150, but all of its vehicles. From examining things like light exposure to interior materials and paint finishes, to making sure that corrosion absolutely does not happen when steel components come in contact with aluminum panels in the new truck. The goal: ensure that the new F-150 is nothing short of "Built Ford Tough."
But that's only a small part of the story. Of course, the new F-150 has to be able to withstand whatever a pickup buyer might throw at it - and truck buyers arguably demand the most from their vehicles. So in an effort to convey just what the new F-150 had to go through before being given the final go-ahead, Ford has released a series of videos, showing how its new halo truck was indeed torture tested.
Ford Escort returns, just not for US
Sat, 19 Apr 2014Ford is set to give the burgeoning Chinese market its very own C-segment model, while also reviving one of the brand's more notable nameplates. The new Escort, which will make its world debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show will be built in the People's Republic at the Changan Ford joint venture facility.
The Escort's exterior is best thought of as a mix of the finer points from the US market Focus and Fusion, with the Aston Martin-ish grille and narrow, wraparound taillights presenting a clean look at either end of the car. It's all fairly true to the concept car from last year's Shanghai Motor Show. That said, this exterior job is almost too clean. There doesn't seem to be a lot of character or substance beyond the typical Ford looks.
There's a similar issue in the cabin - it all looks pretty nice, but the design is rather plain, particularly when viewed alongside the display-filled cabin of a US-spec car. Still, there looks to be a fair amount of space in both the front and back seats, and the trunk isn't exactly tiny, either.
