Up for auction is my 1964 Sprint convertible.  I have owned and driven this car for over 20 years and have decided to let it go.  The paint is ok for a 18 year old paint job but has flaws and chips consistent with its age.  It's still nice but far from show quality.  The interior also has flaws consistent with its age.  The autometer gauges work great.  The stereo system works great too but could use an upgrade.  The driver's side seat has a tear in the carpet under the seat back.  Has a nice Flaming River tilt steering column and a real wood steering wheel with billet trim.  All the chrome around the windshield has been replated and looks great.
Engine is a 5.0 liter removed from a wrecked 93 Mustang Cobra with around 35K on it.  It has around 40K now.  This engine comes stock with a better cam and intake and Roller Rocker heads.  It has BBK headers exiting into 2.5 inch exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers.  The transmission is a 5 speed manual shift removed from a 93 Mustang with around 30K.  The rack and pinion front suspension is a crossmember kit from Street Rod Engineering in Arizona and has tubular upper and lower control arms.
Underneath the car is clean.  Floor pans have been replaced.  Also has welded in tubular frame connectors.  Rear is an 8 inch with an Auburn posi unit and 3.80 gears.
This car is fast, handles great and is fun to drive!  I just don't have the time or money to continue to work on the car.  Lots of new parts...too much to list.  Thanks.

Ford Escort is ready to focus on the Chinese market

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Ford officially revived the Escort name in China, showing of the new, four-door compact at the Beijing Motor Show. Painted in a stylish brown-bronze, the new sedan wears a number of global Ford styling cues while sharing its platform with the Ford Focus.
Power for the new model comes from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder, although Ford doesn't specify just how much power is on offer, simply saying that the fuel economy of the new mill will be "outstanding." It's unclear what transmission will be distributing the engine's power, although based on the images we've seen, the Escort will definitely offer a two-pedal setup.
The layout of the cabin is fairly clean, although as we mentioned in our initial post on the new Escort, it's a decidedly sparser environment than we've grown use to in US-spec Fords of late. If anything, it's like a weird blend of current Ford switchgear with an overall look that reminds us of older Ford layouts. Still, it looks like a comfortable way of moving five people about without too much fuss. There's ample space both front and rear, and a rather spacious trunk.

Ford Fiesta becomes UK all-time best seller

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

We may regard Ford as an American automaker, but ask a Brit and they may tell you otherwise. The Blue Oval has, after all, been selling cars in the UK since 1903, and started manufacturing there as far back as 1911 when it began local production of the Model T in Manchester. Last year Ford ended 100 years of vehicle manufacturing in the UK when the last Transit van rolled off the assembly line in Southampton, but it's still the biggest-selling automotive marque in Britain.
Ford has led the British market for 34 out of the past 45 years, selling more Fiestas than any other company sells any other car in the UK since 2009... when it overtook the Focus. In fact the Fiesta has now become the best-selling car in British history, topping 4,115,000 units since its introduction in 1976. The previous record was held by - you guessed it - another Ford: the Escort sold 4,105,961 units over the course of its 32 years on the British market.
Although the Fiesta is no longer manufactured in the UK (previous versions having been built at Dagenham until 2002), engines are: the EcoBoost line was developed at the company's R&D center in Essex and are built at the factory in Dunton, while its diesel engines were developed at Dagenham in East London. Even the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine in the Fiesta ST is built in South Wales.
