1961 ford falcon

302 v8

c4 automatic with B&M megashifter

great piece of american muscle. turn key daily driver. and shes a 61!

get in and drive her home.

all lights work, highs, lows, signals, brakes.

very minor signs of rust

mustang rear end

5 lug conversion

all new front end, bushings, ball joints, shocks and struts and tie rods installed by a real mechanic followed up with a four wheel laser alignment.

candy red metal flake paint

has loads of power, runs drives and shifts and stops as she should, no issues.

dual glass pack exhaust

pushbutton start, front bucket seats from a 91 mustang

fresh oil, tranny service, radiator flushed...for proper maintenance

with all of this being said, the negative things everyone wants to know are as follows:

-floor pans have been patched, they are fine as they sit...just wanted to point it out.

-some rust bubbles on the driver door as pictured

-headliner is newer but previous owner obviously did it themselves, never bothered me.

-its an old car so the windows need a little help rolling up and down, it vibrates, its loud, the radio is only an old school amfmtape.

-has some wear along the front lower part of the hood..been there since I got her. its covered with tape, see pics.

-gas guage is moody. wipers work but are slow(its a 61)

-the candy apple metallic flake paint has a few imperfections but overall is great. holds a nice shine and the flake looks great in the sun

.thats all the bad I can really say about her. she gets attention every where and I am always asked...what year is that falcon? what size engine, what?!?! a 302, awesome! admired by many

I have the original steering wheel and full size spare.

clean title in my name in hand

Ford CEO Mark Fields takes home $18.6 million

Fri, Mar 27 2015

Sitting atop the throne at Ford Motor Company is, as it turns out, a fairly lucrative gig. We make that statement after learning, through SEC filings, that FoMoCo's Mark Fields raked in $18.6 million in compensation during his first year as CEO. Now, as is so often the case, Fields' earnings weren't just straight salary. Only $1.7 million of that sum was from his salary, while another $3.2 million came from cash bonuses. The remaining $13.7 million, though, came from what The Detroit Free Press called "long-term stock options, performance equity awards and compensation for items such as security and travel," according to the SEC filing. That makes for a significant raise for Fields, who made $10.1 million in 2013, but it still doesn't match his predecessor, former CEO Alan Mulally. The 69-year-old Mulally earned $23.2 million in his final year as CEO, while bringing in $1 million last year as part of a $22 million compensation package. Fields' earnings may ruffle some features for a few reasons. First, while the Freep reports that Ford hit 91 percent of its performance goals, 2014's earnings were down $4 billion, to $3.2 billion, compared to the $7.2 billion the company made in 2013. On top of that, the CEO's take-home might be sour grapes for hourly employees, who were only treated to checks worth $6,900, as part of a profit-sharing plan. To that, Ford said in a statement that, "We remain absolutely committed to aligning executive compensation with the company's business performance and to tying a significant portion of executive compensation to long-term shareholder value." Shelby Cobra, Mercedes 300SL and 1947 Woodie from Petersen Museum headed to auction

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

The changes happening at the Petersen Museum have been making the rounds in major press, but it probably won't be until August 18, during Pebble Beach, when we get the full story on what's happening; that's where and when museum reps plan on announcing the way forward for the SoCal institution. In the meantime, the museum is still reorganizing its collection, and that means auctioning some of its showpieces at this weekend's Auctions America event in Burbank.
Three of the stars are a 1964 Shelby Cobra 289, one of less than 20 produced with a three-speed C-4 automatic transmission, a 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300SL owned by actor Robert Stack and the last 1948 Ford Sportsman 'Woodie' ever produced. The Cobra, now restored to its original white exterior and red leather interior, was a factory demonstrator that first sold for $5,250. Showing just 38,950 miles on the odometer, its pre-sale estimate is $800,000 to $1 million.
The 300SL is actually a 1957 model but wasn't titled until Robert Stack took possession in 1960. The lead actor in the The Untouchables TV series used to drive by the Sunset Boulevard Mercedes dealership to ogle the car, but couldn't justify spending the money to buy it. When he and the producer of The Untouchables won Emmys for the show, the producer, who happened to be Desi Arnaz, bought the car for Stack. He owned it his whole life, it has been left as Stack drove it and still bears the California license plate "UNTCHBL."

Ford Escort is ready to focus on the Chinese market

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Ford officially revived the Escort name in China, showing of the new, four-door compact at the Beijing Motor Show. Painted in a stylish brown-bronze, the new sedan wears a number of global Ford styling cues while sharing its platform with the Ford Focus.
Power for the new model comes from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder, although Ford doesn't specify just how much power is on offer, simply saying that the fuel economy of the new mill will be "outstanding." It's unclear what transmission will be distributing the engine's power, although based on the images we've seen, the Escort will definitely offer a two-pedal setup.
The layout of the cabin is fairly clean, although as we mentioned in our initial post on the new Escort, it's a decidedly sparser environment than we've grown use to in US-spec Fords of late. If anything, it's like a weird blend of current Ford switchgear with an overall look that reminds us of older Ford layouts. Still, it looks like a comfortable way of moving five people about without too much fuss. There's ample space both front and rear, and a rather spacious trunk.
