This is a very nice 64 Fairlane with over $15,000 invested when it was restored. The follow are a list of what’s with the car: Summit Racing aluminum headed 347 stroker motor TCI C-6 tranny with stall converter Sport coupe interior with factory bucket seats and console This is a Georgia car with very little rust; it’ll make a killer car. It was restored about ten years ago with new paint, wheels, tires, interior and drive line. It has been driven less than 1000 miles since then. It’s also been sitting in the sun, so the sun has damaged some of the interior. The front end needs some work and everything just needs to be gone over. I had big plans for the car but they have changed so my loss is your gain. You can buy the car for much less than the total of just the parts. $1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.
