F-350 Crew Cab Xlt Long Bed 7.3l Powerstroke Diesel 4x4....nice! on 2040-cars
Woodbridge, Connecticut, United States
Thanks for looking! Up for sale is my 2001 FORD F-350 XLT WITH THE 7.3L POWERSTROKE DIESEL ENGINE. I am the original owner and the truck has served me very well over the past 13 years! The truck has ONLY 158500 MILES, has always been a NON SMOKING vehicle, has NEVER PLOWED, and has ONLY OCCASIONALLY TOWED a small 4000 lb. boat trailer. The exterior of the truck is in very good condition with minimal rust at the bottom of the cab (see pictures) and underneath where the running boards attach. There are only a few minor dings in the body. The entire box bed I had replaced and painted two years ago and is perfect! The chrome bumpers are original and in excellent shape. The interior seats have been covered since new and are literally like new underneath. The cup holder trim on the dash snapped off years ago but the holder is still functional. The power windows all work and the power locks work from the inside of the truck but only the driver's side front and rear work from remote. I do have both keys and remotes. The front windshield has a chip near the rearview mirror, but I will have that replaced before the successful bidder takes the truck. The front tires are decent but the rears will need replacing within 5000 miles. The ball joints were replaced at 130000 miles and the front end is tight and the truck is a pleasure to drive. Batteries were replaced 1 1/2 years ago and the alternator was replaced last year. 4 wheel drive works well but the hubs need to be locked and unlocked manually.
Overall a great truck I hate to see go, but I have to make room for the new 2014 I drove home last week! I have a reasonable reserve on the truck and please note that the vehicle is available for sale locally as well. Any local sale will take precedent over this listing. Thanks again, and please contact me with any questions you may have. |

NHTSA closes probes on Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey
Wed, 09 Jan 2013The Detroit News reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially closed its investigations into 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2004-2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey models. The separate probes found no issues that pose safety concerns. NHTSA began investigating certain Grand Cherokee SUVs over complaints that power steering hoses could detach during operation, thereby increasing the risk of a vehicle fire. Of the 24 reports of failure, none alleged smoke or fire in the engine bay, and Chrysler has since modified the power steering cooler assembly to reduce the likelihood of the failure.
Meanwhile, certain Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey vehicles garnered a government probe after receiving complaints that the models were equipped with faulty scissor jacks. The agency had received six reports of the jacks failing or causing injuries, including one incident that resulted in a fatality. But NHTSA says the jack failure rate is similar to those found in other vehicles. In those six cases, the government agency found the jacks were being used for something other than changing a tire, and investigators could not determine whether the emergency brake was set or the rear tires were properly chocked.
Ford turns Navistar from truck business customer to rival
Mon, 19 May 2014There is a showdown brewing in the medium-duty truck segment next year as Ford prepares to launch its all-new, in-house engineered 2016 F-650 and F-750. It finally marks the end of the Blue Diamond joint venture between Ford and Navistar and, making the two entities direct competitors instead of partners.
Ford announced the end of the joint venture in an investor report in 2011, but it didn't reveal the new F-650 and F-750 until the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, IN, in March. Unlike the current, Mexican-built models, the new generation will be built in Avon Lake, OH, starting in mid-2015.
The challenge from Ford comes during a rough patch for Navistar. The company had a $248 million loss in the first quarter, according to The Wall Street Journal, and its medium-duty truck market share is currently down to 26 percent, from 36 percent in 2011. Building the previous-generation Fords brought in about $400 million a year to Navistar, according to the WSJ. To take on its former partner, Navistar plans to offer its International brand of medium-duty vehicles with more engine and transmission options to customers. It even struck a deal with Cummins to put its diesels in some of the models.
Carfection looks for the ultimate pocket rocket
Fri, Mar 18 2016If there's one thing we love, it's a good showdown. Especially when it's on video, done by some Englishmen, and involving some manner of performance machinery. Like this latest clip, for example, from Carfection. The team formerly known as Xcar have assembled three very compelling supermini hot hatches: two we can get on our side of the pond, and one we can't. One American, one Frenchman, and one Brit. One cheap, one expensive, and one somewhere in between. They all pack turbo fours, of course, but placed in entirely different packages. There's the evergreen favorite Ford Fiesta ST, the Renault Clio RS 220 Trophy that should have the rest licked, and the retro rocket that is the Mini JCW. And there's only one way to find out which is the best. It's a tough contest, to be sure, but lest you think it all comes down to specifications or which one's the newest, you'll want to think again. Because when it comes to hot hatches, all the electronic gizmos and power boosts in the world can't show up a perfectly dialed-in chassis that lets you hug the curves and feel like you're going a lot faster than you actually are. But don't take our word for it – see what our British friends have to say about it in the Queen's English in the seventeen-minute clip above. Related Video:
