I am listing this truck for a friend. It was his shop truck. It is in excellent condition and drives out very nice, I drove it today and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it did drive. All maintenance has been done on schedule and oil and filter replaced every 5,000 miles. The oil and filter where just changed last week at 129,700 miles. It has no leaks. Has a factory AM-FM and cassette player in the dash, and the air conditioning blows ice cold. All 6 tires where replaced early this year and are in excellent condition. Also has power steering and brakes. See photo below for the complete option list on the original window sticker. New battery was installed December 2012. Has the manual telescoping rear view mirrors, and a day/night mirror inside. Also has cruise control. The rear truck flat bed was covered with "TUFF COAT" coating and should last forever. Has front tow hooks and a trailer hitch built in if you need to do any towing. The shop never towed anything with it. This truck is ready to drive anywhere.     The bad:  The "gates" on the back have rust on them as you can see in the photo's. That happened in storage because they where never in use on the truck. The passenger side windshield has a crack in it, and their is a rust spot on the roof. Both should be visible in one of the photo's below.     If you are new to eBay, than you may not be aware that your bid means you are buying what you are bidding on.   If you have zero feedbacks you must contact me to let me know that you are serious about completing the sale.   Please, please do not bid unless you really want it.  The auction costs time and money.    A $500.00 deposit is due at the auctions end via PAY PAL.   PAY PAL is O.K. for the deposit, but not the final payment.  Final payment will be made directly to my friend, the owner of the truck.  I will assist with shipping, but you must make the arrangements and pay for shipping.  If you are picking it up cash is the only way to pay for it.   Checks are O.K., but they must clear the bank before the truck departs.   The bike is located in Livonia, Michigan between Detroit and Ann Arbor

Ford Explorer Jackson Pollock Edition results in trip to hospital

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

Among the many useful pieces of driving advice we've taken to heart over the years, "Safely secure all cargo" is etched pretty high on our personal stone tablets. We've had a couple of frustrating moments over the years (numerous wonky cupholders and too-tall lidded cups; a radar detector that released its suction cups and dashed itself below the dashboard, etc.), but never anything like the scene above.
These photos above come courtesy of the Washington State Patrol, and they show the unfortunate aftermath of a driver, his dog, and his Ford Explorer after it crashed near the town of Belfair last week. According to reports, the man was schlepping five-gallon containers of paint inside his vehicle when he was involved in an unexplained accident. It's not clear what triggered the crash, but the impromptu abstract painting covered the whole of the interior, including the driver and his faithful companion.
The man was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries, and his dog was cleaned and later taken to a humane society.

2017 will be the year the connected car becomes a reality

Fri, Jan 13 2017

2016 was full of talk of autonomy, but little action beyond crazy, futuristic concept cars and announcement after announcement from automakers. If this year's CES is any indication, 2017 is going to focused on connectivity. More than that, CES showed that traditional barriers between automakers are breaking down in favor of universal and open source technology standards that will benefit both consumers and developers. CES, traditionally a showcase for the latest and greatest technology and gadgets like flat-screen refrigerators or televisions that broadcast in the fifth dimension, has become so intwined with the auto industry that we at Autoblog cover it like any other auto show. At every CES event I attended and nearly every booth I went to, there was some talk, display, or demonstration of how cars will connect to your phone and your home, and eventually each other. It seems we're heading toward the tech singularity where all devices work under one cohesive ecosystem – the Internet of Things, if you like. The difference between autonomy and connectivity is how real the latter feels because so much of the connected tech on display at CES is either here already or will be here by the end of the year. There were dozens of demos, both big and small, that allowed us to test and explore what's on the horizon. Bridging the gap between home and car, Ford is integrating the Amazon Alexa personal assistant straight into its vehicles. That means you'll be able to talk to Alexa in your car just like you would through an Echo or Dot at home. It also means you can shop on Amazon by voice while you're driving (since that wasn't convenient enough already). Samsung is developing smartwatch applications for Ford, BMW, and others. Toyota is adopting Ford's SmartDeviceLink smartphone connectivity system for its vehicles. That means developers can have one app that works across multiple infotainment systems. The Linux Foundation is developing an open-source operating system that will be free to use, making it easier for developers to connect smartphones and apps across multiple manufacturers' systems. Automotive Grade Linux, or AGL, is available for download right now. Major automakers like Toyota and Daimler (who usually are set on competing with one another) are partnering to further the development of the project. Bosch, Hyundai, and Chrysler showed connected car concepts at CES that preview the future of automobiles.

Mustang pinball game will feature art by Ford GT designer

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

To celebrate 50 years of Mustang, Ford and Stern Pinball are collaborating on a new pinball machine that will feature the muscle car in all its glory, Polygon reports. Even better, Camilo Pardo, the guy who designed the Ford GT, will provide art for the table; Tanner Foust, Top Gear USA host and professional driver, will handle narrating duties; and a Sony Music soundtrack spanning five decades will provide the tunes.
"The Mustang is one of the most iconic, American cars ever made... What better way to celebrate 50 years of Mustang than with the launch of the Ford Mustang pinball game?" says Stern Pinball CEO Gary Stern.
Watch the promotional trailer for the upcoming Mustang pinball machine below, which will have to hold you over until pricing and availability are announced in early 2014.
