2002 Ford F350 4x4 FX4 Lariat Crew Cab, Single Rear Wheel, Short Bed

Legendary 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel engine with automatic transmission.

Shift-on-the-fly four wheel drive (2WD, 4H, and 4L) with auto-manual locking hubs.

Excellent mechanical condition with approx. 121,750 miles.

Accident free, one-owner, well-maintained, and a clear title in hand.  This is an Arizona and Pacific Northwest vehicle that's never seen East Coast salted roads.  It's incredibly clean, reliable, and safe.  It’s never been abused off-road or performance “chipped.”  We ordered this truck from the factory and have driven and maintained it with the intent of keeping it forever.  We simply have too many vehicles and don’t drive “Big Red” much anymore.

The exterior is in excellent condition.  Absolutely beautiful Toreador Red with Arizona Beige 2-tone paint.  Deep rich color, great shine, and no oxidation in the paint.

The tan leather interior is in excellent overall condition.  There are no tears or damage to the seats and we are a non-smoking family.  Dual heated front captain’s chairs are fully power adjustable.  Rear bench seat has incredible leg room, a folding arm rest, and a storage tray behind the seat.

We ordered this pickup fully loaded with nearly every option available, including:  FX4 Off-road package, PS, PB, PW, PDL, manual telescoping power mirrors, privacy glass, overhead console, intermittent wipers, cruise control, sliding rear window, AM/FM with USB and CD player, driver and passenger front and side air bags, four wheel ABS disc brakes, fog lamps, carpeted floor mats, chrome tubular side steps, roof clearance lights, and full size spare tire.

Other features and upgrades include:

·         Goodyear MT/R Kevlar tires (35-inch, LT285/75R18, load range E) and 18-inch Dick Cepek chrome wheels.  Full-size matching spare wheel and tire.  Tires were installed in 2009 (at 99,500 miles) and have with approx. 12/32 inches (or 65%) of tread depth remaining

·         TJM steel bull bar with 12,000 pound Warn winch & 10” Hella driving lamps

·         Color-matched ARE CX-series canopy with carpeted liner, Thule rack/channels, and rhino-lined bed

·         Viper long-range remote start system, which includes a timed glow plug delay, a 2-way key fob remote, and a one-way key fob remote

·         Banks Monster exhaust with 4-in pipe from turbo back and 5-in chrome tip

·         K&N high flow air intake

·         New factory upgraded 4R100 transmission with a larger transmission cooler and external spin-on filter.  Mag-Hytec transmission sump with increased capacity and drain plug

·         New DieHard Platinum batteries installed in December 2012

·         Mag-Hytec front and rear differential covers with increased capacity and separate drain and refill plugs

·         Inline spin-on coolant filter with bypass valve

·         ProComp Suspension 2-inch lift, professionally installed

·         Heavy service payload group (9,900 lb GVWR)

·         Engine block, oil pan, and transmission pan heaters

·         Dana 60 front axle and Ford 10.25-in rear axle with 4.10 ratio limited slip differentials (came from factory with 3.73 gears, but we changed to 4.10s)

·         Dual 115 amp alternators

·         Upgraded to Kenwood AM/FM radio with USB and CD player and Kenwood speakers

·         Tow package, including factory 12,500lb trailer hitch receiver, trailer plugs, and Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller

This is a one-owner vehicle with ALL service records.  Major services or repairs include:

·         Transmission and transmission cooling system replaced in 2012 (at 115,000 miles) – transmission is under full Ford factory warranty until June 2015 (unlimited mileage)

·         Repairs in 2012 (at 111,600 miles) included tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, fuel filter housing, fuel drain valve, and glow plug control relay

·         Speed control module replaced under recall in 2010 (at 104,200 miles)

·         Cam positioning sensor replaced under recall in 2008 (at 91,600 miles)

·         Brakes redone in 2007 (at 82,000 miles)

·         Transmission and engine fluids changed as recently as July 2013

Vehicle had VHF/UHF amateur radios mounted in it and it’s hard-wired for roof-mounted antennas and direct battery power.  There is minor damage to the center console carpet from the radio mounts, but it is concealed by all-weather floor mats.  There are some mounting holes in the knee panel above the center console and on the dash near the A-pillar.  Steering wheel shows usual wear.  There is a paint rub along the rear of the canopy on the driver’s side (see photo).  Otherwise, the interior and exterior are in perfect shape, especially considering age and miles.

How Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra will take on the Ford F-150 profit machine

Fri, Aug 10 2018

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — When General Motors engineers were developing the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, some of them joined public tours of Ford's Dearborn, Mich., factory to watch aluminum-bodied F-Series trucks go down the assembly line. The redesign of the Ford F-Series trucks, launched in 2014, set a new standard for fuel economy and lightweight vehicle construction. But armed with stopwatches and trained eyes, the GM engineers believed they saw problems. "They had a real hard time getting those doors to fit," Tim Herrick, the executive chief engineer for GM truck programs, told Reuters. His team did more intelligence gathering. They bought and tore apart Ford F-Series doors sold as repair parts. Their conclusion: GM could cut weight in its trucks for a lower cost using doors made of a combination of aluminum and high-strength steel that could be thinner than standard steel, shaving off kilograms in the process. These pounds-and-pennies decisions will have major implications in the highest-stakes game going in Detroit: dominance in the world's most profitable vehicle market, the gasoline-fueled large pickup segment. What's more, GM is banking on strong sales of overhauled 2019 Silverados and GMC Sierras to fund its push into automated and electric vehicles — a business many investors see as the auto industry's long-term future. The risks are high given the hits automakers have taken from U.S. President Donald Trump's trade policies. Rising aluminum prices spurred by Trump's tariffs are driving up costs on the Ford's F-Series, while rising steel and aluminum prices likewise drag on GM results. GM also has a significant risk should the United States, Mexico and Canada fail to agree on a new NAFTA trade deal, given GM trucks built at its Silao, Mexico, factory could face a 25 percent tariff if NAFTA collapses. Major profit per truck Interviews with GM executives and a tour at its factory here in northwest Indiana provide a detailed look inside GM's plan for the most important vehicles in its global lineup. These big pickups are everything Tesla's Model 3 or Chevy's Bolt electric car is not. The mostly steel body is bolted to the truck's steel frame, rather than the one-piece body and frame electric vehicles. The majority of trucks will have a V-8 gasoline engine powering the rear wheels — like the classic GM cars of the 1950s. Some Silverados will have new four-cylinder engines, but there is no electric or hybrid offering as of now.

Ford spills SEMA all over its Expeditions

Sat, 01 Nov 2014

If you're going to this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas, it's going to be tough to miss the Ford booth, simply for its size. The Blue Oval is bringing over a dozen customized examples of the 2015 Mustang and a quintet of modded Transits. The latest announced addition is a trio of upgraded 2015 Expeditions showing different takes on the recently refreshed SUV.
Any vehicle tuned by Dub Magazine needs to ride on massive wheels, and the Expedition (pictured above) that it has for SEMA is no exception. The SUV has 26-inch Dropstars wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires, and, making them look even larger, the suspension is also lowered. The rest of the custom has some mild upgrades like mesh grilles in front, tinted windows, an integrated radar detector and new upholstery inside.
Tijn wants to boost the performance of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 for its take on the Expedition. The company claims to add 40 horsepower to bring total output to a claimed 405 by upgrading the engine with a charge cooler from Vortech Engineering, a custom side exhaust and a custom tune. To match the extra grunt, the SUV also gets bigger brakes, an Air Lift suspension and 24-inch, copper-colored wheels with custom fender flares.

Ken Block's 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR and CR Supercars Villain are retro done right

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Gymkhana king Ken Block has had a pretty simple car history in his trademark videos, starting out with Subaru Impreza rally cars before moving into Ford Focus racers for the past four installments. His next video, though, Gymkhana Seven, kind of goes back in time.
Rather than the cutting-edge rally racers of past videos, Block will pilot a heavily modified 1965 Ford Mustang, called the Hoonicorn. How heavily modified is it? Well, Block's Hooligan Racing Division, ASD Motorsports and Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s RTR, spent two years working on it, ditching the standard engine and rear-wheel-drive layout and replacing it with a 410-cubic-inch Roush Yates V8. Yes, that's a NASCAR engine, and it produces 845 horsepower.
A NASCAR-powered Mustang would be news in itself, but it's the other powertrain changes made by Block and Co. that really makes headlines. Power is channeled through a one-off Sadev transmission and all-wheel-drive system, meaning that Block has basically married a NASCAR stock car with a WRC racer. ASD also developed the customized suspension, tubular chassis and roll cage. The wide Mustang body is the work of RTR and Block's own Hoonigan Racing Division, while the 18-inch fifteen52 wheels are shod in Pirelli Trofeo R tires that use a specialized compound exclusive to Block.
