2000 F350 7.3l Turbo Diesel Monster Truck 46" Tires on 2040-cars
Bradenton, Florida, United States
This truck is a beast! 12-14MPG! When I got this truck it was in rough shape, the lift was built right but it was only 2wd. I put a new Transmission, Transfer case, transmission wiring harness, engine, harness, and dash Harness. Put a solid axle Dana 60 in the front (has a Dana 80 in the rear!), regeared it from the original 3.73 to a massive Yukon performance 5.38 with a Detroit conical locker in the rear. Both axles were blown out during the regearing and refitted with all new seals and bearings. And this truck has NOT BEEN MUDDED since the rebuild! The tires are a massive 395/85/R20 which comes out to 46 1/2" tires! The flatbed on the back has been boat tailed for a better look. The truck came with a 5" stack that I removed but will come with it. The paint on the truck is faded and could use a respray or spend $500 and get a crazy wrap. I changed the front end with 2005 headlights, grille, bumper, and upper valance to give it a fresh look. the seats on the inside are in perfect shape, just put in there last month, AC WORKS!! The ride can get bumpy but what can you expect from 46 1/2" tires? for what it is this truck actually drives great. Due to the fact that this truck is lifter over 14" and has such large tires I have an old set of rims and tires that can be used to trailer the vehicle. I just had this truck towed to Clearwater and back to have a new fuel injector and fuel tank installed. the old tank liner went bad. I am selling this because I have a 1949 Chevy 3100 that I'm wanting to restore and my wife told me one or the other, so the big girls gotta go!

Ford shows off V8-powered Ranger headed to Dakar Rally
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Avert your eyes now if you're jealous that the global version of the Ford Ranger is not offered in the US. Ford's midsize pickup is being tuned up to take on the 2014 Dakar Rally, and the result is a truck that is probably even cooler than any F-150 SVT Raptor we've ever seen in the States. Ford is actually building two versions of the truck for Dakar, which will run from January 5 through January 18, covering more than 5,000 miles from Argentina to Chile.
Starting with a fully composite body and a 5.0-liter V8 plucked from a Mustang, nearly every aspect of the trucks have been purpose built to take on the grueling race. This includes things like the six-speed sequential gearbox, liquid-cooled rear brakes and the 132-gallon fuel tank. As proof that Dakar is more about endurance than speed, the engines used in these race trucks will be limited to around 350 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and will max out at a top speed of just 105 miles per hour. Scroll down for Ford's official press release offering more information about the trucks and teams being prepped for Dakar.
2015 Ford Mustang invades SEMA, led by King Cobra
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Ford showcased more than a dozen customized 2015 Mustangs at its sprawling 20,000-square foot display this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center as the iconic pony car's 50th anniversary celebration continued at the SEMA Show.
While Mustangs are always a hot commodity at SEMA, the new generation brought increased attention from the aftermarket, as builders like Galpin Auto Sports, Richard Petty's Garage and Vaughn Gittin Jr. offered their takes on the new 'Stang.
The extensive display included a range of Mustangs from mild to wild, with everything from a 600-plus horsepower King Cobra pictured at the top, to paint-and-wheel packages. The new regal Cobra, which we spied early in our SEMA adventure this year, may not be the replacement for the Cobra Jet as we speculated, but it does seem to point the way forward for the next iteration of a supreme Ford dragster. Fat drag slicks out back make it's reason for being abundantly clear, and for tells us that modded car is good for a 10.97-second quarter-mile run.
Bill Ford op-ed argues we can't just build and sell more of the same cars
Thu, 10 Jul 2014It's hardly a secret that the auto industry is undergoing an enormous, tectonic shift in the way it thinks, builds cars and does business. Between alternative forms of energy, a renewed focus on low curb weights and aerodynamic bodies, the advent of driverless and autonomous cars and the need to reduce the our impact on the environment, it's very likely that the car that's built 10 years down the line will be scarcely recognizable when parked next to the car from 10 years ago.
Few people are as able to explain the industry's many upcoming changes and challenges as clearly as William Clay Ford, Jr., better known as Bill Ford. The 57-year-old currently sits as the executive chairman of the company his great-grandfather, Henry Ford, founded over 110 years ago.
In an op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal (subscription required), Ford explains that the role of automakers is, necessarily, going to change to suit the needs of the future world. That means changing the view of not just the automobile, but the automaker. As Ford explains it, automakers will "move from being just car and truck manufacturers to become personal-mobility companies."
