2004 FORD F250 LARIAT
WATCH THE VIDEO IN 720 HIGH DEF! WATCH TO THE END FOR A TEST DRIVE! When you're looking for a truck that will get the job done and still be able to go through a drive-thru, you look no further than the legendary Ford F250 Super Duty. This particular '04 Super Duty is the Lariat model so it's not a stripped-down work truck. It's optioned out just exactly like you want one including polished 16" wheels, tinted windows, power leather seats, ICE COLD A/C, and more!
It's loaded with all the power goodies including keyless entry and keypad among many other items. It has a FRESH bedliner plus we removed the crack-prone running boards and added big 5" chrome nerf bars. The
leather seats look great and have no rips or tears in them. The
windshield has no cracks in it either. The tires are big 285-series
units that give the truck a great stance plus they're practically NEW. With no blowby and only 214k on the truck, it's barely broken-in!!! We've had similar
trucks with over 600k on the original engine. It starts right up hot or
cold and runs great the whole time. Doesn't use any coolant or smoke
either best of all it has NO BLOWBY. The paint is extra shiny plus the
seats have no rips or tears. It also has a good pair of batteries that
cranked it no problem hot or cold! We've
put alot of miles on this truck ourselves and wouldn't hesitate to get
in this truck and drive it ANYWHERE. Feel free to fly in and drive it
home to whereever home may be. We'll be glad to pick you up at the
airport at no extra charge or we'll work with the shipper of your choice
to have it transported. Best of all, we got a great buy on it that
we're passing along to you in the form of a LOW RESERVE that is
THOUSANDS BELOW the book value of nearly $20,000!!!
Yes,
it's powered by the 6.0 diesel, but no worries because it runs PERFECT.
We've run a balance test on the injectors and they're all in spec plus the coolant/oil temps are
right where they should be idling or pulling. I had the 6.0 guru at my
local Ford dealer go over it top to bottom and it has ZERO ISSUES! Once
you get one of these 6.0 engines set up properly they are really the
only way to go. Buy a 6.4 and you'll be replacing the radiator every
50,000 miles or more at $1200/apiece or you'll have to worry that if the
previous owner didn't change the oil every 5,000 miles then thanks to
the DPF you wind up with 5 extra quarts of fuel in the crankcase
thinning out the oil and causing rocker box issues. 7.3s are nice but
they're all miled out or if you find a lower mileage one they'll ask you
$20,000 and it won't have nearly the option list this one does. NADAguides.com Price Report
2007 FORD F250 ROAD TEST (same as our '04) IntroductionAlthough most consumers will find that a regular half-ton pickup truck like the F-150 meets their day-to-day requirements, those with bigger towing and hauling tasks may need something more substantial. The next step up the ladder is a three-quarter-ton pickup truck, and Ford's entry in this class is the 2007 F-250 Super Duty. Square-jawed, big-rig styling distinguishes the F-250 from its half-ton sibling on the outside, but the most important differences are underneath where a stouter frame and larger engines give it the strength to carry heavier payloads and pull heavier trailers. Three-quarter-ton buyers have plenty of options to consider when equipping their trucks. For starters, you can go with a Regular cab, Extended cab (SuperCab in Ford speak) or Crew Cab. Regular cabs have an 8-foot-long bed, while SuperCabs and crew cabs can have the 8-footer or an easier-to-manage 6.75-foot bed, depending on what size loads you plan to carry. Engine options include a 5.4-liter gasoline V8, 6.8-liter gasoline V10 and a 6.0-liter diesel V8 known as the Power Stroke. The Power Stroke offers more low-rpm torque than the gas V10, as well as a higher Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) -- up to 26,000 pounds. It's the best choice for buyers with serious towing requirements and is the most popular engine in the F-250 lineup. Although the truck received a mild refresh for 2005, the 2007 Ford F-250 is one of the older designs in the three-quarter-ton pickup class. Compared to the offerings from GM and Dodge, the Ford's interior looks and feels dated, with mediocre seat comfort and minimal storage. And, although smooth, the Power Stroke diesel V8 does not perform as well as competing diesels when pulling heavy loads. That said, the Super Duty pickup's refined ride, handling and braking characteristics should still be appealing to buyers who don't need the strongest or newest three-quarter-ton truck on the market. Bear in mind, though, that a fully redesigned F-250 Super Duty is set to arrive next year as a 2008 model. Body Styles, Trim Levels, and OptionsThe 2007 Ford F-250 Super Duty comes in Regular Cab, SuperCab and Crew Cab body styles. SuperCab models have small rear-opening doors, while the Crew Cab has four full-size swing-out doors. SuperCabs and Crew Cabs are available with a short or long bed; regular cabs are long-bed only. There are three trim levels available -- XL, XLT and Lariat; note that regular cabs are available only in XL and XLT form. XL models are meant
to be work trucks, and as such come with a vinyl bench seat in front;
manual windows, mirrors and locks; a basic AM/FM radio; and no
air-conditioner. Additional comforts can be purchased as options or you
can move up to the XLT, which adds cloth upholstery, a 40/20/40 front
bench, air-conditioning, a CD player, cruise control and a full set of
power controls. High-line Lariats come with features like leather
upholstery, a power driver seat and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Numerous options and
packages are available for the Ford F-250. In addition to the packages
mentioned earlier, there are the Harley-Davidson and King Ranch
Packages, which provide ritzy leather interiors, while off-roaders can
pick up an electronic transfer case, heavy-duty shocks and skid plates
in the FX4 Off-Road Package. Buyers interested in towing should get the
Tow Command system option, which provides an integrated controller that
synchs up the brakes on the trailer with those on the truck.
Powertrains and PerformanceThe F-250 is available with two- or four-wheel drive and three different engines. The base engine is a 5.4-liter V8 that generates 300 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque. An optional 6.8-liter V10 generates 362 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. The best choice for those who do serious towing and hauling, though, is the 6.0-liter Power Stroke diesel V8 rated at 325 hp and 570 lb-ft, as it provides a 26,000-pound Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) when combined with the optional 4.30 rear axle. A six-speed manual transmission is standard with all of these engines and a five-speed automatic is optional. Properly equipped, an F-250 can tow up to 12,500 pounds. SafetyFour-wheel antilock disc brakes are standard; side airbags are not available. Automatic transmission-equipped XLT and Lariat models can be equipped with power-adjustable pedals. Rear parking sensors are optional on XLT and Lariat crew cabs. There is no NHTSA or IIHS crash test data on the F-250 Super Duty. Interior Design and Special FeaturesInside, the Ford F-250 pickup truck is beginning to show its age. It's plenty roomy up front, but the seats aren't very comfortable even with the King Ranch treatment and there isn't enough storage space. Crew cabs offer ample room for two or three passengers in back, and when you fold the rear seats up to make way for cargo, a utility tray flips out from underneath to keep the load floor flat. Driving ImpressionsThe F-250 Super Duty is actually quite civil on the highway, as it soaks up heavy ruts and bumps with ease while providing a quiet ride. Although the truck feels big from behind the wheel and has a large turning radius, handling is generally surefooted and the brakes perform well during panic stops. Acceleration is smooth and linear with the Power Stroke diesel V8, while the five-speed automatic transmission upshifts cleanly and holds gears when necessary, such as when there's a trailer hitched to the back. Be sure and take a look at the book values on this vehicle (or any other we have for sale) before you bid. We stopped offering a built-in BuyIt Now option due to ebay's policy of letting anyone with an email address register a username. We had half a dozen de@dbe@t bidders in a row hit the BIN with no intention of paying. We do have a BuyIt Now price so give us a call if you're interested. Make sure you call us for more information on this vehicle. As always though, our reserve is THOUSANDS less than NADA value so bid early & bid often so you don't miss out!

Ford using robot drivers to test durability [w/video]
Sun, 16 Jun 2013In testing the durability of its upcoming fullsize Transit vans, Ford has begun using autonomous robotic technology to pilot vehicles through the punishing courses of its Michigan Proving Grounds test facility. The autonomous tech allows Ford to run more durability tests in a single day than it could with human drivers, as well as create even more challenging tests that wouldn't be safe to run with a human behind the wheel.
The technology being used was developed by Utah-based Autonomous Solutions, and isn't quite like the totally autonomous vehicles being developed by companies like Google and Audi for use out in the real world. Rather, Ford's autonomous test vehicles follow a pre-programmed course and their position is tracked via GPS and cameras that are being monitored from a central control room. Though the route is predetermined, the robotic control module operates the steering, acceleration and braking to keep the vehicle on course as it drives over broken concrete, cobblestones, metal grates, rough gravel, mud pits and oversize speed bumps.
Scroll down to watch the robotic drivers in action, though be warned that you're headed for disappointment if you expect to see a Centurion behind the wheel (nerd alert!). The setup looks more like a Mythbusters experiment than a scene from Battlestar Galactica.
Creations n' Chrome Top Notch Mustang is a one-of-a-kind fox
Thu, 07 Nov 2013Is there a cooler car from the 1980s and early 90s to mod than a Fox-body Ford Mustang? No, there isn't. If you disagree with us, we suggest you have a look at this 1990 Mustang Coupe, which just might change your mind. Although considering just how extensively modified this car - the Top Notch Mustang from Creations n' Chrome - is, we wonder just how much Ford is left in this old pony.
It rides on a custom race tube chassis that weighs a scant 700 pounds, while carbon-fiber bits and bobs help lower the overall curb weight to a mere 2,400 pounds. When paired with supercharged, 5.0-liter, Aluminator V8 from Ford Racing, the results are, doubtlessly, exciting. 855 horsepower at the rear wheels and 667 pound-feet of torque are available from that force-fed V8 should be just plenty for this car's intended purpose of running in standing-mile competitions.
The Top Notch Mustang is more extreme than just weight savings and a big engine, though. That 5.0-liter is essentially in what's known as a front-mid layout - where the engine is actually behind the front axle. In this case, the 5.0-liter V8 is 17 inches further back than a factory Fox-body, for better weight distribution. As a result, the cabin has been completely overhauled. An SLA front suspension, wheels from HRE, Wilwood brakes and Sparco interior items round out the extensive list of mods.
