for sale is a very clean and very nice f-250 ford diesel 7.3 liter engine pickup truck with an extended cab. it has never been abused. jacob wanted a power stoke pickup when he turned 15.5 and got a driving permit, so this is the truck he chose. he has had it one year. he has now decided he wants a cummins diesel dodge ram.. we agreed to get him one when he sold this truck and got a summer job. at any rate, he does not have a summer job nor has he sold this truck, but guess what? we bought him the dodge ram with a cummins engine today. it is a very nice truck, one owner etc and a much newer and a lot more money. needless to say he is spoiled. the truck was purchased new by a fella that did some yard work. it has a towing reese hitch on the back and he pulled a 12 foot utility trailer with it from time to time to haul his lawn mower. it has never had a goose neck ball or has never pulled a heavy load. jacob had a strait pipe put on it so it would make more noise. what is up with that? it has a 5 speed automatic transmission. it has an edge juice digital chip and gauges. the first owner thought he might at some point pull a large camper trailer but never did, so he said he did not think the chip was ever functional. it has a nice toolbox and far above average tires. mechanically it is very sound with no issues whatsoever. the engine is as clean as a hound tooth and looks brand new. the exterior is quite nice with no issues i am aware of except a small ding in the bumper which i am going to have fixed this week hopefully. the interior is in mint condition or as near mint as it can be. it might be a bit dirty but there are no damages. i would never have sold it and would not be afraid to take it coast to coast and would just as soon have it as the newer one we just purchased which we paid more than twice what i am asking for this one. it has a clear title and can be picked up at time of purchase. i would consider taking an older small 4 wheel drive pickup in on a portion of the cost. i would prefer it to be a nissan or toyota. i would like one mechanically sound, if there is some rust or body issues, i would expect that in an older truck. we took several pictures and would be glad to send any additional ones if anyone would like them. if you have any questions please ask. you make call me at 573 453 4844 as well. the truck is located in salem,mo. 65560 i am going to start it at what we paid and that is the figure kelly blue book says it would be priced at in a dealers lot. i would however entertain respectable offers and consider a trade for what i mentioned. thanks for looking. in looking over this listing, it has payment methods, i can also accept paypal. also personal checks are fine but would need to clear or my bank can call your bank and get an ok on your check. it has shipping expenses listed at 200.00. that is an ebay thing. i did not add that. it may be picked up at my home whick i prefer or you may have it shipped at your expense. i have no idea what it would cost to ship a pickup. whatever the cost however should you decide to ship it, would be the buyer's responsibility. it has a radio i forgot to mention and a cd player and maybe something else with it. the 4 wheel drive engagement is on the dash board and it a switch you turn to what you desire so i assume it is electronic. i can't think of much else, again any questions feel free to ask or call.

Ford made three big mistakes in calculating MPG for 2013 C-Max Hybrid
Tue, Jun 17 2014It's been a rough time for the official fuel economy figures for the Ford C-Max Hybrid. When the car was released in 2012, Ford made a huge deal about how it would beat the Toyota Prius V, which was rated at 42 combined miles per gallon, 44 city and 40 highway. The Ford? 47 mpg across the board. How did Ford come to this place, where its Prius-beater turned into an also-ran? Well, after hearing customer complaints and issuing a software update in mid-2013, then discovering a real problem with the numbers last fall and then making a big announcement last week that the fuel economy ratings of six different 2013 and 2014 model year vehicles would need to be lowered, the C-Max Hybrid has ended up at 40 combined, 42 city and 37 highway. In other words, the Prius trumps it, as daily drivers of those two vehicles have known for a long time. The changes will not only affect the window sticker, but also the effect that the C-Max Hybrid (and the five other Ford vehicles that had their fuel economy figures lowered last week) have on Ford's compliance with greenhouse gas and CAFE rules for model year 2013 and 2014. How did Ford come to this place, where its Prius-beater turned into an also-ran? There are two technical answers to that question, which we've got below, as well as some context for how Ford's mistakes will play out in the bigger world of green vehicles. Let's start with Ford's second error, which is easy to do since we documented it in detail last year (the first, needing to do a software update, was also covered). The basic gist is that Ford used the general label rule (completely legally) to test the Fusion Hybrid and use those numbers to figure out how efficient the C-Max Hybrid is. That turned out to be a mistake, since the two vehicles are different enough that their numbers were not comparable, despite having the same engine, transmission and test weight, as the rules require. You can read more details here. Ford's Said Deep admitted that the TRLHP issue is completely separate from the general label error from last year. Now let's move on to last week's announcement. What's interesting is that the new recalculation of the MPG numbers – downward, of course – was caused by a completely separate issue, something called the Total Road Load Horsepower (TRLHP). Ford's Said Deep admitted to AutoblogGreen that the TRLHP issue had nothing to do with the general label error from last year.
Leno recalls '90s showdown with Tim Allen and his mullet
Wed, Oct 7 2015Not many of us have buddies with garages full of classic cars, but that isn't the case for Jay Leno and Tim Allen. Of course, one of the advantages for two guys with such vast collections is occasionally getting to pit their cars against each other. The two comedians did just that in the mid-'90s with a burnout battle on The Tonight Show between Allen in a race-prepped Mustang and Leno in a drag racer. After some time away from regular television, Leno is returning to the airwaves with a Jay Leno's Garage series premiering on Oct. 7 (tonight) at 10:00 p.m. ET on CNBC. Let this clip serve as another taste of what to expect for the new TV show's mix of comedy and cars. After reminiscing about the old days in a gorgeous garage, the comedians get into two modern machines to reprise the classic challenge – after a little trash talk anyway. Don't worry because the YouTube series isn't going anywhere, though.
Watch Vaughn Gittin Jr. hit the ice in his 2015 Mustang RTR
Thu, Mar 19 2015There's more than one way to get a car to drift. You can set up a purpose-built drift car. Or you can put a car on a slick surface. But in this case, Vaughn Gittin Jr. has done both. In this latest video, the driftmeister extraordinaire reveals the new livery for his 2015 Ford Mustang RTR, and put it on a frozen track, flanked by snow banks. It's the perfect place to drift any car, and this custom pony car could very well be the perfect drifter. Call it a match made in heaven. A cold, frozen-over slice of heaven where rear-drive muscle cars put on one heck of a show. Gittin, for those unfamiliar, is one of the drifting scene's foremost showmen, and like Ken Block or Tanner Foust, he competes primarily in Blue Oval machinery. Vaughn will be challenging the Formula Drift series once again in the Mustang RTR, but whether the sideways-driving championship is coming to a circuit near you or not, you can scope out a piece of the action right here.
