Restored 1974 Ford F250 Pickup. Only about 2,000 miles put on it since the rebuild/restoration. Over $17,000 in receipts not including paint and labor (receipts included). We purchased this truck in late 2014 from a retired mechanic who restores vehicles to keep busy. All restoration work was done in 2013-2014. We purchased it for use around our ranch but have used it very little. We are simplifying our lives and need to move it along. This truck has a completely rebuilt Ford FE 390 with Edelbrock aluminum 428cj heads, Sanderson ceramic coated block hugger headers, hi output digital ignition and rebuilt C6 tranny. Modern air conditioning compressor and comp cam. Runs smooth but strong. All new exhaust (the sound is a low rumble) and electric fuel pump with regulator. The interior was redone, all new glass in cab front, side and rear sliding window and a new custom stereo that fits dash. Exterior paint is gun-metal grey and has faint ghost flames on the sides. (Note: the paint has faded in some areas and there are several rust spots coming up underneath the paint in places.) Old logo is airbrushed on the tailgate. (Note: there are some small holes in the bed of the truck, but the bed is still structurally sound. The previous owner had covered it with a heavy rubber mat.) I am not a motor head, but have been told that this engine configuration is worth quite a bit of money on its own. This is not a show truck, but could be a daily driver and a good buy for someone looking for a nice older Ford.

Ford tumbles to second worst in Consumer Reports reliability survey, list dominated by Japanese [w/video]
Mon, 29 Oct 2012It's no secret that MyFord Touch has had its share of problems since being introduced, but the most recent reliability survey from Consumer Reports shows just how much this infotainment system has affected Ford. Just two years ago, the automaker was in the top 10 for the institute's reliability rankings, but since then, it has tumbled to the second-lowest rung just above dead-last Jaguar. In addition to MyFord Touch, CR also attributes a handful of new products that have had issues right out of the gate.
Compiled from 1.2 million subscriber surveys, this year's auto reliability survey heavily favors Japanese automakers, with eight of the 10 spots hailing from Japan. Toyota brands grabbed the top three spots (Scion, Toyota and Lexus - in that order) with Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Acura filling the next four spots. The only non-Asian automaker cracking the top 10 was Audi at number eight.
Audi climbed a total of 18 spots from last year, and Cadillac and GMC round out this year's top gainers breaking into the top 15. Helping Cadillac's upward movement, the CTS Coupe was named the most reliable domestic car. Lincoln, Volvo and Chrysler join Ford on this year's biggest loser list.
2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost
Fri, 16 May 2014Earlier this week, Ford invited us to Charlotte, NC, to ride in an all-new 2015 Mustang fitted with its turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder. It's the first forced-induction, four-cylinder ponycar for the Blue Oval since the sun set on the 1986 Mustang SVO. We jumped at the opportunity, as only a handful of people have ever been in the passenger seat of this new car, and most automotive media won't get as close as we did until this fall.
As we revealed in our Deep Dive, Ford will slot this new turbocharged four as premium powerplant between its naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V6 and the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. At last mention, the automaker said the direct-injected, all-aluminum engine will develop 305 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, returning the best fuel economy of the three powerplants in the process. History buffs will note that those figures are appreciably stouter than the 200 horses and 240 lb-ft that the '86 SVO realized out of the same displacement, and the latter's figures were hugely impressive at the time. On paper, the new EcoBoost four looks to be a good fit for most owners who want to balance performance with efficiency - we were eager to see how it felt from the passenger seat.

Driving the Lincoln Aviator and flogging Abarths at Laguna Seca | Autoblog Podcast #593
Fri, Aug 30 2019In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by West Coast Editor James Riswick and Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale. To begin, Greg takes a moment to remember the fastest woman on four wheels and former host of Autoblog's "The List," Jessi Combs, who died this week. Then our editors turn their attention to the cars they've been driving, including the Lincoln Aviator, Ford Ranger and Nissan Frontier, as well as Joel's recent stint in the Fiat 500 Abarth and Fiat 124 Spider Abarth, including track time at Laguna Seca. Finally, they turn their attention to a listener in Germany who is looking to replace an aging Volkswagen Eos with a newer convertible in this week's "Spend My Money" segment.
