2013 FORD F250 Super Duty Platinum Edition 4X4, 12,770 miles, mint condition inside and out. Tuxedo Black Metallic with black leather interior. This truck is absolutely one of the sharpest trucks around, I always keep it shined up and I have got a ton of compliments from others. The metallic paint really stands out and looks awesome. Has 6" Rough Country lift kit, new springs and rear lift, added Fox Shocks. I have the factory suspension and shocks boxed up and will go with the sale. Tires are 295/65/20 Nitto Trail Grappler and rims are Gear Alloy Nitro. I have the original rims and tires with 400 miles on them, they are not part of the auction but can be purchased by buyer if an agreement on price can be reached(unless you use Buy It Now, see below for details) As you can see from the window sticker, this truck was loaded with every option, off the lot it has over $10,000 in options. Additionally, I had the dealership install an engine block heater and also install the headrest DVD players in the back. They ordered the DVD players from the factory with a remote and a set of headphones, these are not the cheap add on players. The upgrades for the block heater and DVD Players were an additional $2600, the suspension and rims/tires were an additional $4600. Includes all factory manuals, window sticker, navigation disk, etc. I am selling because I bought an all wheel drive BMW and another truck from Texas. Once purchased, the buyer has to send a deposit of $500 through Paypal. Deposit is non refundable if you cannot get financing or obtain funds to complete the purchase. Only serious buyers please. If you wish to come inspect the vehicle you may do so at any time. Any questions please ask. Thank you. **If buyer chooses Buy It Now, I will add the factory rims and tires to the sale of the truck. They are 20 inch polished aluminum with black powder coated insets. The tires are Michelin LTX A/T 2 in a 275/65/20. Please see below for a picture. Detroit automakers mulling helping DIA avoid bankruptcy looting

Tue, 13 May 2014

It's not really a secret that the city of Detroit is in lots and lots of trouble. Even with an emergency manager working to guide it through bankruptcy, a number of the city's institutions remain in very serious danger. One of the most notable is the Detroit Institute of Arts, a 658,000-square-foot behemoth of art that counts works from Van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin and Rembrandt (not to mention a version of Rodin's iconic "The Thinker," shown above) as part of its permanent collection.
Throughout the bankruptcy, the DIA has been under threat, with art enthusiasts, historians and fans of the museum concerned that its expansive collection - valued between $454 and $867 million by Christie's - could be sold by the city to help square its $18.5-billion debt.
Now, though, Detroit's hometown automakers could be set to step up and help save the renowned museum. According to a report from The Detroit News, the charitable arms of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler could be set to donate $25 million as part of a DIA-initiated campaign, called the "grand bargain." As part of the deal, the DIA would seek $100 million in corporate donations as part of a larger attempt at putting together an $816-million package that would be paid to city pension funds over 20 years. Such a move would protect the city's art collection from being sold off.

Ford Explorer is America's new favorite police car

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

There is a new vehicle that you should keep an eye out for when you're going a little too fast down the Interstate. Ford's Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility was the bestselling new law enforcement model in the country last year, and signs show that won't be changing anytime soon.
Ford sold 14,086 Interceptor Utilities in 2013, up 140% from the year before, and 10,897 Interceptor Sedans, up 31%, according to USA Today. Overall, the brand's police sales were up 48 percent, and they were enough to boost the company's law enforcement vehicle market share by 9 points to nearly 50 percent.
The success comes just a few years after it made the decision to finally retire the long-serving Crown Victoria-based cruiser for two more modern vehicles. "We had to reinvent the category," said Chris Terry of Ford Communications to Autoblog. The automaker had to convince police departments that a unibody chassis without a V8 could perform better than a model that had been a law enforcement staple for years.

Ford F-150 RaptorTrax is Ken Block's ultimate snowmobile

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Even when Ken Block isn't starring in the latest Gymkhana video or tearing up Global RallyCross courses, he's finding new ways to redefine "awesome" as it applies to motorsports. For evidence of this, look no further than Block's latest Monster-badged creation, the Ford F-150 RaptorTrax.
Billed as the "world's fastest snowcat," the RaptorTrax started life as a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, and then a set of Mattracks were put in place where the truck's bead-locked wheels and meaty rubber once resided. The goal was to create a truck that made it easier - and presumably more fun - for Block and his buddies to hit the slopes on their snowboards. Aside from the obvious track upgrades, this truck also received a Whipple supercharger, full roll cage, Recaro seats, an in-bed snowboard rack, a roof basket and a rear-mounted winch - you know, just in case something or someone actually manages to get this truck stuck.
The RaptorTrax will be on display later this week at the Winter X Games in Apsen, CO, but we'll have to wait until next winter for a full Block-worthy video of the truck. A full press release from Hoonigan Racing Division is posted below, and a high-res image can be found by clicking above.
