This auction is for a 2001 Ford F250 4x4 Superduty Crew Cab Truck with only 75,129 miles. It has the V10 Triton engine and Automatic Transmission. This truck listed for almost $35K when new. Options include (see picture of the window sticker) Preferred Equipment Package 607A, V10 Engine, Electronic Automatic Transmission, Limited Slip Axle, Cab Steps, 8800# GVWR Package, Electronic shift on the fly, Sliding Rear Window, Snow Plow Package, Trailer Hitch Receiver, Privacy Glass, Remote Keyless Entry. Includes the owners manual packet. This truck was my dad's pride and joy. He used it as a Gentleman's truck. As a result the interior is a 9.8 out of 10. It looks like a 10K mile truck from inside. He only hauled his tractor back and forth for service work with the truck, and used it to go to yard sales. He had another truck that he used to go to the dump and put dirty stuff in. It also includes an A.R.E truck cap, that is painted to match the truck. I hauled a trailer with his tractor from his house to my house (about 3 hours away), and all I can say is this truck goes down the road real nice. There is some rust around the rear wheelwells and the tailgate is rusty on the inside lower seam. There are a couple of small scrapes in the clearcoat, and dings. I've left the truck in its original state, so you can see that it hasn't been all patched up. I'm not sure what the next owner would do with the truck, so I'll leave it up to them to decide to keep it as is, fix it, or maybe a contractor would want a different type of body on the back. I'd list the exterior as an 8.5 out of 10. The truck is really roomy inside, and is very quiet going down the road. If you would like to see the truck, I'm available to show it by appointment. Please ask questions before bidding, and please make sure you have the funds and you want the truck. Also keep in mind this truck is 13 years old, and will need some unforeseen items along the way, and thus is sold in "as is" condition with no expressed or implied warranty. Thanks for your interest.

Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k
Tue, 07 Oct 2014Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.
V6 engines will outpace V8s for the 2015 Ford F-150
Wed, 23 Jul 2014How times have changed. Even five years ago, who would have thought the mighty V8 would be just another engine choice for buyers of the 2015 Ford F-150?
Ford is projecting about 28 percent of the next-generation trucks will have the 5.0-liter V8. That's nothing to sneeze at, but consider this: Ford figures its two EcoBoost truck engines - the new 2.7-liter V6 and the existing 3.5-liter V6 - will also each account for about 28 percent of the F-150's sales (56 percent total). That leaves only 15 percent of the pie for the 3.5-liter (non-EcoBoost) V6. The new F-150 goes on sale late this year.
Ford figures its two EcoBoost truck engines will each account for about 28 percent of the F-150's sales.
Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid nab five-star ratings from NHTSA
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Ford's Fusion and Fusion Hybrid have both received the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The rating is a big upgrade for the Fusion, which was completely redesigned for 2013. The previous model fell one star short of the top rating, after scoring only three stars in the frontal crash test and four stars in the side crash test and rollover evaluations. The 2013 Fusion received four stars in side crash and rollover testing and a full five stars in the front crash test.
Test results for the 2013 Fusion and Fusion Hybrid were greatly improved at least in part due to Ford's Personal Safety System. The system utilizes smarter sensors to gather crash data and tailor the car's restraint systems to the occupants. Seatbelt usage and seat position are taken into account to ensure airbags deploy with less pressure for smaller drivers, more for larger drivers.
The 2013 Fusion twins also received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick+ designation. Read the official press release below.
