The box was salvaged from a 1975 parts truck. There is a new side panel for the box that has been primed and POR-15 on inner surface. Inside of box and underside of box have been coated with POR-15. Doors, hood, fenders, inner fenders, hood and cab are all original steel. They have been sanded cleaned and primed with high build primer. Some body work has been done, Minor work left to do. The original bench seat was shot, and the dash pad was cracked and falling apart. Do not have replacements. Have two of everything for AC and Heater. Parts truck was a 1975 F250 4x2 supercab with damaged passenger side"

I have a 1973 Ford F250 4 x 4 factory highboy restoration project for sale. This was a California truck that started out as a utility service vehicle. It is currently being put back together from a frame off tear down. The utility box was removed and sold, I then purchased a 1975 F250 supercab 4 x 2, for the full size bed box, and to use as a parts truck. The frame, axles, transfer case, and all suspension parts have been sand blasted. The frame and all suspension parts have been primed and painted with epoxy paint. The body parts for the cab to my knowledge are all original to the cab, and have been sanded and primed with high-build primer, ready for what little faring is necessary. The box was blasted and coated inside and under with POR-15, and has a new tailgate, (still have tailgate from parts truck) and a new side panel for passenger side that is ready to install, being POR-15 on inner wall and primed on outside surface. I have taken many pictures of every move I made on this project. I have every piece that was taken off of both vehicles. The original inner fenders, radiator support, and headlight parts are ready for priming. This was a rust free cab! Literally only one through hole on drivers side floor as big as a dime, and filled with a quarter sized patch, and I photographed it's repair. The truck came from the factory with a 360 motor, but had been replaced with a big block 460, that had a recent rebuild on it. I drove this truck onto the trailer and around before it's tear down. It drove from California to southern Wisconsin. It has the original 4 speed manual transmission, and I have a ZF 5 speed with overdrive and "granny" low, from a 1987 F350 that needs to get cleaned up, but works and is ready to ease the pain of the fuel economy
of the 460. With very little body filling to do this is ready for paint and reassembly. All of the hard parts of the project are done. I was going to strip down the motor and paint the block and other parts, so that needs to be done
as well. This is not your run of the mill Midwest mudding truck that is being re-done. It had good bones with zero cancer! The frame was blasted just to clean it, it had no rust or scale, other than surface oxidation.

Ford C-Max Commercial Brings Cadillac 'Poolside' Ad Down To Earth

Thu, Mar 27 2014

If we had tried to predict the first video response to the controversial Poolside video for the Cadillac ELR, we would not have thought it would center on compost. But, hey, it's always nice to be reminded that the real world is sometimes better than fiction. Instead of the chic swagger of 'Poolside,' 'Anything Is Possible' is all about getting dirty. The new short in question is called Upside: Anything Is Possible and it promotes two things: Detroit Dirt and the Ford C-Max Energi. As in the ELR ad, Ford's plug-in C-Max only makes an appearance at the tail end of the spot, but instead of the chic swagger of Poolside, Anything Is Possible is all about getting dirty. The ad stars Pashon Murray, co-founder of Detroit Dirt, which takes natural waste from around Detroit, composts it into soil and then spreads that around "forgotten parcels" of Detroit to create urban farms. Detroit Dirt gets its bio-waste from a lot of sources, including the Detroit Zoological Society (all that herbivore manure has to go somewhere), Ford and General Motors, but this particular ad was the idea of Ford's PR agency, Team Detroit. It was a frenetic shoot, filmed with an LA-based director right after a big winter storm blew through Detroit, and Murray couldn't be happier with the result. "This was Ford Motor Company pushing my story, letting me tell the story that I believe in," Murray tells AutoblogGreen. "I get to help push this car and I get to tell my story." She says that the Team Detroit and Ford had to agree on the message, "from my understanding, [YouTube] is where they wanted to start, not where they wanted to finish." The ad is already getting a positive response on Twitter, so we won't be surprised if it shows up in more places soon. "It's not saying Ford is better than GM. It's telling the story of a black woman who's working hard in Detroit." As Detroit Dirt has off-screen support from both GM and Ford, it's unsurprising to hear Murray say that the video "is not a rivalry thing." She notes that the ad agency Team Detroit came to her and offered to tell the Detroit Dirt story using the framework of the GM ad. "It's a parody on this commercial, but it's not saying Ford is better than GM," she said. "It's telling the story of a black woman who's working hard in Detroit." What is that story? It's about urban farming, recovery and recycling. Murray tells us that for the last seven or eight years, she's been dedicated to sustainability.

Ford F-Series Super Duty prototype reduced to smoldering mess of aluminum and steel [UPDATE]

Mon, 04 Aug 2014

The most important bit of information you need to know after looking through our high-res gallery of images depicting a prototype 2016 Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup truck burning to the ground is that nobody was hurt. There were two engineers inside the vehicle when it caught fire, and both exited to safety.
That's the good news. The bad news is that the truck, which appears to have been testing in Death Valley, appears to be a total loss, minus, of course, whatever information Ford can glean from the conflagration - particularly tracing it back to its root cause. Besides that, we're also expecting the body of the next Super Duty to be hewn from aluminum, as is the case with its smaller brother, the brand-new F-150. Note the little aluminum droppings littering the roadway as apparent proof of that.
Our spy photographers report that it took just 21 minutes for the F-Series Super Duty to burn completely to the ground. The fire appears to have started in the driver-side front wheel well, spreading to engulf the entire front end in three minutes. We can't confirm the source of the blaze, but we're curious if the car's black vinyl cladding, meant to obscure the secrets within, contributed to the fire.

Ford and BraunAbility team up for wheelchair-accessible Explorer

Fri, Jul 24 2015

BraunAbility, a creator of wheelchair-accessible vehicles that are usually based on minivans, has teamed up with Ford to create the MXV, a vehicle the company hails as the first of its kind. In addition to the obvious exterior modifications that include sliding doors, this Explorer-based mobility vehicle has removable driver and passenger seats and a powered ramp that nestles into the vehicle's floor. Modifications to the regular Explorer platform will allow wheelchair users to operate the MXV from the driver's position with the normal seat removed, ride along as a front passenger, or enjoy 56 inches of cabin height in the middle row, which is large enough to accommodate most power wheelchairs. Best we can tell, there are no changes to the Explorer's powertrain, which means a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque will provide motivation, not to mention 5,000-pounds worth of towing capacity. Fuel economy from the MXV matches that of the Explorer, with 17 city, 24 highway, and 20 combined. The twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 isn't available. Unfortunately, all-wheel drive also isn't available from BraunAbility due to the lowered floor necessary to make the vehicle large enough to work as a proper mobility vehicle. Even so, the Explorer looks like a pretty nice platform with which to build such a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, with good looks, good driving manners, and the kind of rugged looks you can't find in a minivan. Expect to see the MXV at BraunAbility dealers this fall, but don't expect to be first in line. Vehicle No. 1 has been promised to wounded veteran Mike Delancey, a United States Marine paralyzed by a sniper's bullet while serving in Iraq in 2006. Take a look at the images above, and feel free to peruse the press release for all the details below.
