Catonsville, Maryland, United States

Selling my 1970 Ford F250. I purchased this truck from the second owner around 2008 with the intentions to restore. I need the garage space back and I know I will never find the time to work on it. A little history on the truck, The original owner Mr Beegle purchased this truck brand new from Will Stuckey Ford in Holidaysburg Pa. I was told he purchased the truck to go camping with his wife after his retirement.   Around 1990 Mr Beegle passed away and a family friend that always admired the truck purchased it from his estate. I do not believe the truck was used that much after that. It just sat in his barn in storage. Unfortunantly the barn roof leaked causing much of the bed rust. The last time the truck was tagged was around 2005. The truck does run and drive but has no brakes, so it must be trailered. I put some fresh gas in it and a battery and the 360 started right up. It does smoke when running and smells like old gas. It should clear up after all the old gas is run out of the tanks.  Please look at all the pictures, this truck is not perfect and is not something that you can get in and drive home.  Heres some of the bad.... Needs brake work, the passenger side window regulator will need replaced, has body rust, drivers side mirror is broken, passenger side mirror was removed but will be included, the air horns shown in the engine compartment pics are not included with the truck. also keeping the stainless steel hub caps. Now the good..  The interior of the truck is near mint with no tears or cracks in the seat, still smells new. cab is near perfect with exception to the door bottoms that have some rust, other than that there is no rust in the cab mounts or rain gutters etc. Please examine the pictures and ask questions. Just realize this truck is not perfect and should be gone through before putting it on the road Sold AS-IS!!

In the one picture I have of the windshield, There appears to be a crack. It must have been part of a leaf or something because all the glass is good with no cracks.

Ford announces free brake pad offer if customers stop by dealers

Mon, 04 Aug 2014

These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers.
"We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts.
Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1.

Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.

2013 Ford F-150 Limited

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

The Ford F-150 received yet another new model for the 2013 model year, the Limited trim, bringing the ways you can order this country's most popular vehicle to a grand total of 10. There really is an F-150 to suit any need now, and the Limited variant slots in at the very top of the range, above the already pampering Platinum model.
While normally I would admit that I'm the least-appropriate person to test a pickup, the fact that this particular trim places a much higher premium on luxury than anything with a bed and Blue Oval badge before it means that I don't need the workman chops of a skilled tradesman to judge how well this truck meets its true aim.
