Very rare 1966 Ford F250 Camper Special truck. This truck was factory made by Ford to haul heavy loads. Has original factory toolbox built in bottom passenger side of bed. Automatic on the column with transmission cooler. Has towing hitch on rear. Custom cab with built in travel panels in doors. All the chrome, grill, and emblems are intact and in good shape. Interior solid. Have recently rebuilt factory 352 motor, rebuilt carb, replaced transmission seals, new starter, master cylinder, plugs, wires, left wheel seals, and I'm sure more that I have forgotten. After rebuilding, I am seeing small amounts of white smoke periodically from tailpipe, but still runs smooth. THIS TRUCK IS NOT RESTORED! After spending way more than I intended on this truck, I have decided to sell and get something more economical. I have started sanding the hood and front fenders of truck. Cranks and runs very smooth, but would not call it a daily driver yet. For a 1966, this truck is VERY solid. Great candidate for someone to restore. Please do not come look at this truck thinking it's a cream puff ready to take to cruise in. It is simply a great START to a classic truck that you really don't see much on road. This truck will be sold as is to the highest bidder and must be picked up in Dobson, NC.

Ford C-Max Solar Energi takes a recharging station wherever it goes
Wed, 08 Jan 2014Companies ranging in size from small startups to major automakers have been experimenting with solar-powered charging stations for EVs and plug-in hybrids. And, of course, people have been powering vehicles with onboard solar panels for quite some time, too. Still, Ford's new C-Max Solar Energi Concept shows the promise of a truly practical implementation of solar on a production vehicle, and it may not be as far off in the future as we had thought.
As we reported a few days ago, the Solar concept makes use of a "concentrator lens" that focuses sunlight onto the Ford's roof-mounted solar panels. The special lens follows the rays of the sun to maximize the amount of charge being fed to the batteries of the car, taking about a day to fully charge the 21-mile, all-electric range of the C-Max Energi. Ford data suggests that combination might be enough to power 75 percent of all trips made by a statistically average driver. In turn, using the sun to power a vehicle could reduce yearly C02 emissions by up to four metric tons when compared with the driver of an average gasoline-powered sedan.
We've got live images of the C-Max Solar Energi Concept, jauntily tilted on its display to best present it's signature solar panels, straight from the CES floor.

This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum
Tue, Aug 27 2019Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles. The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.
