1986 Ford F-150 4x4 Short Bed

Custom Show Truck Straight Axle!

This truck started life as a 300 6 cylinder 4x4 XL model.

It had the twin I-beam suspension from the factory.

Custom Diesel Ford F-150 photo Custom-DieselFordF-150-7_zps4b2e0145.jpg

This is a list of the modifications:

Engine, 302 mustang 90’s model roller cam engine

Aluminum intake manifold

March aluminum pulley system, with serpentine belt and low mount mustang style polished ac compressor

Holley 480 avenger off road carburetor, this carb was tuned specifically for this application, it is a high angle no flood off road version.

The engine has stainless steel shorty headers with srp locking header bolts.

All this flows through flowmaster exhaust system

Ford motorsport valve covers and air cleaner

Complete msd ignition system, including billet distributor, 6al box and msd blaster coil, msd custom plug wires with Kevlar boot covers.

 Air Conditioning

The air conditioning has been completely rebuilt with all new parts including

Condenser, dryer evaporator, and custom lines for the low mount compressor.

The radiator has a be-cool electric fan that is thermostatically controlled; it also comes on as the a/c system requires it.

Suspension

The suspension is a custom build

The axles are 1979 ford bronco axles

Ford 9 inch rear

Dana 44 front axle with lock-outs

Custom diesel f150 hi-lift coil springs in the front

Rancho shocks and boots

The rears are custom diesel re-arched 6 inch lift leaf springs

The truck has a complete suspension lift of 8 inches allowing for 37 inch pro-comp tires.

Custom driveshafts were built for the truck front and rear

Power Front disc brakes and rear drums, all brakes are new including calipers and wheel cylinders as well as rotors, pads drums and shoes.

  Transmission

Transmission is a 4 speed manual, with low low first gear, granny gear, bulldog whatever you want to call it.

Transfer case is 2hi, 4hi, and 4 low

This truck runs and drives great the suspension was done correctly and it drives with two fingers on the steering wheel at 80 mph, just the way I like all of my 4x4’s to do.

Moto metal 18 x10 wheels chrome with painted to match accents

Pro comp 37 inch tires.

The truck was a rust free truck from the south to begin with the body is absolutely straight and has high end base clear BASF paint on it raven black and calypso green from the new Camaro, paint is new truck was painted in the last six months. The truck has been driven less than 150 miles since completion and is stored inside.

The bottom of the bed of the truck is a little bumpy, I did not replace the floor, and it is flat black in the bed, no rust but has dents in it from the previous life of being used as a pick-up truck.

The center of the  tailgate and front bumper were ground to bare metal & clear coated as an accent, it is something we tried just to see how it would turn out, we ended up thinking it looked cool.

The rear bumper is a complete custom-diesel.com fabricated piece; we have a complete fab shop and built one off pieces to whatever my head comes up with. The bumper and side step/rock bars were built here and cannot be purchased anywhere, so you will always have something different.

The Interior

Xlt trim has been installed

The seat is custom, it was an original 90’s ford bench seat that has been covered to match the interior with embroidered logos in the headrests. Strictly f150.

There is a custom billet CNC machined logo in place of the ford emblem on the front grill that says strictly f150 as well.

The interior has green accents brought into the inside the trans cover was moved from under the carpet to above it and painted green as well as the shifters themselves

The truck has new carpet and insulation.

Lmc dash cover.

Door panels, new glass in side doors

New complete rear sliding window

New windshield

Tinted 15%

New window cranks

New stereo system installed by a local company, the system is basic with four speaker and CD player.

The inside of the cab was repainted in the build as well, there was no rust in the floors, and again, this was a southern truck.

A stupid amount of money was spent to build this truck, it is show worthy by all means, and it commands attention wherever it goes.

Detroit Three to lose dominance of North American auto output in 2017

Wed, Sep 27 2017

DETROIT — North American vehicle production by the unionized Detroit Three automakers will fall behind the combined North American output of Tesla and automakers from Europe and Asia for the first time this year, IHS Markit forecast on Wednesday. In 2017, the Detroit Three could build 8.6 million vehicles in North America, while Tesla and foreign automakers build 8.7 million, IHS Markit analyst Joe Langley said. By 2024, the gap will widen, with Asian and European automakers and Tesla combining to build about 9.8 million vehicles in North America. General Motors, Ford and the North American operations of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV will combine to build 8.1 million vehicles, down 6 percent from this year. Mexico is on track to increase its share of North American vehicle production, Langley said, moving to 4.5 million vehicles a year by 2024 from about 4 million vehicles currently. The milestone for the growth of Tesla and foreign automakers in North America comes as the Trump administration is pushing to limit imports of vehicles from Mexico in negotiations to overhaul the North American Free Trade Agreement. The declining share of North American vehicle production for the Detroit automakers also challenges U.S. and Canadian unions that represent their workers. Canadian workers are on strike at a GM factory in Ontario to protest the automaker's decision to cut jobs and move to Mexico some production of sport utility models built there. Foreign automakers over the past year have announced plans for a wave of new or expanded plants in North America, while Tesla is ramping up to build as many as 500,000 cars a year at its plant in Fremont, Calif. Often referred to as "transplants," the foreign-owned factories are poised to become the mainstream of the North American auto industry. Automakers are increasingly using factories in China or Mexico to build vehicles that used to be assembled solely in the United States, Langley said. He cited as an example Ford's decision to shift production of the Focus small car for North America to a Chinese assembly plant. An in-depth look at the Ford GT with Xcar

Sun, Jul 26 2015

Ford made big waves when it unveiled the new GT at the Detroit Auto Show this past January. But as far as details go, it's been rather quiet. Though Dearborn has revealed what engine will sit between those buttresses, it hasn't told us exactly how many horses or torques it will produce, or precisely how fast we should expect it to propel the new all-American supercar. Fortunately, the automaker let the crew at Xcar into the studio to give us a quick, four-minute rundown of all the information that is out there at the moment, along with all the most intriguing angles of the vehicle's design. The historically savvy among us will already know that the new 2016 Ford GT traces its roots back to the GT40 that conquered Le Mans half a century ago, and through the previous Ford GT that debuted a decade ago. Both of those featured V8 engines (supercharged in the latter case) while their modern successor goes with a twin-turbo V6. But as Xcar points out, six cylinders aren't without their precedence in the history of the GT-series Ford supercar: the GT70 rally car of 1970 originally packed a 2.6-liter V6. That engine was later replaced by a 1.6-liter inline-four, which puts another crack in the theory of the eight's hegemony over the history of the series – as does, we'll point out, the Bugatti-like quad-turbo V12 that featured in the GT90 concept of 1995 that sadly never made production. The point is that divergence from V8 tradition shouldn't dissuade anyone from getting excited over the arrival of the new GT, and we're looking forward to seeing what she can do – on and off the track.
