 I'm selling my 2005 Ford F-150...

AS-IS.

The truck needs a new motor, or fix the one that is in it. It's 4x4, automatic, very nice looking truck. I've had it for 4 years, never had any trouble with it. But a couple weeks ago, I lost oil pressure while driving. By the time I was able to pull off the road I had no oil left in the truck and there was evidence of coolant having had leaked into my oil. I'm not a mechanic but I think this means my head gasket went? The truck will NOT start and does NOT run at the moment.

Transmission and 4 wheel drive worked perfectly.
5.4L Triton V-8.
Power windows and locks work.
Air conditioning needs a re-charge, does not blow cold.
Front tires are good, but rear tires could be replaced soon.
3 wheels look good, but the 4th lost the chrome skin that lays on the steel. I have the skin, but never found the center cap.
Passenger side mirror has no glass (housing is fine aside from a scuff mark, but the glass is missing)
Small dent in tailgate.
Running boards have a ding or 2 and some of the end caps are broke and/or missing.
Rear power sliding window is tempermental and works about 50% of the time (I suspect the switch is going?)
Tinted windows.
Bed liner.
2" hitch receiver with 4-flat and 7-round connections.
Tow package with transmission intercooler.
Stainless steel grille (upper and lower).
Keyless entry (remote and door pad).
Interior is in very good condition.

I am selling this truck as-is. I've had it 4 years and never had issues, but sadly I can not afford to fix it. If you have ANY questions at all, please contact me and I will answer everything to the best of my ability. If you live close enough that you can come see the truck in person, I strongly encourage you to do so. I have nothing to hide...the truck doesn't run! My mechanic said the motor is shot and will have to be replaced.

2013 Ford F-150 Limited

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

The Ford F-150 received yet another new model for the 2013 model year, the Limited trim, bringing the ways you can order this country's most popular vehicle to a grand total of 10. There really is an F-150 to suit any need now, and the Limited variant slots in at the very top of the range, above the already pampering Platinum model.
While normally I would admit that I'm the least-appropriate person to test a pickup, the fact that this particular trim places a much higher premium on luxury than anything with a bed and Blue Oval badge before it means that I don't need the workman chops of a skilled tradesman to judge how well this truck meets its true aim.

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?

Ford looks to space robots to improve car-to-car communications [w/video]

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Ford has partnered with St. Petersburg Polytechnic University for three years to research various kinds of connected vehicle communications. The university tie-up is part of its study of space robots, NASA systems created to enable space-to-Earth communication, and the university's own development of systems that enable communication between the International Space State and Earth.
The objective is for Ford to engineer layers of robust networks and redundancy systems that will allow your car to speak to other cars, to emergency vehicles, to infrastructure like traffic lights and buildings, and to the cloud. Benefits would come in just about every area of transit, from avoiding accidents, to getting medical workers to an accident more quickly, to improving the flow of traffic during rush hour.
Check out the press release below for details on what Ford wants to learn from the JUSTIN Humanoid and NASA Robonaut R2, and a video of technical leader Oleg Gusikhin discussing his interest in the project.
