I am the second owner and have had it since April 2006. It's priced to sell. Compare from link on bottom. Also do not contact me just to drive it. It's a 5.4 Supercharged engine. It is fast, has plenty of torque and handles amazing. This truck was professionally serviced on a routine schedule. Never raced and was truly babied. The famous JDM Engineering (LIghtning and SVT specialists) just had a look at this Ford Lightning on Feb 07, 2013. It was given a thumbs up and was acknowledged regarding the care taken of the truck.
Upgrades are; Bassani Exhuast, 20" American Racing Rims, solid Tonneau cover with power lock, Lightning emblem covers, custom Lightning floor mats, Towing package (but has never towed a thing). 6CD changer..
This truck shines, runs and rides like new. Adult owned. It's an eye catcher and is commented on regarding how nice it is everywhere it goes. This is not a brand new truck! It had been involved in a minor accident. A deer that creased the drivers door. I can provide a report showing this. Car Fax is a great guide to be sure a vehicle was not salvaged or totalled but is in no way always accurate. There was no intrusion or damage beyond cosmetic. All work was done at Branning Auto Body in East Brunswick. Any replaced parts were factory. They have full records and did a job that made it like it never happened. Top notch.
This truck has been maintained and serviced on time. Only Royal Purple 5W/30 oil has ever been used.
Pay Pal accepted. No delivery. This vehicle has been gone over professionally and checked thouroughly. If you want it checked on your own, bring a mechanic. It will not be driven anywhere to meet you.
The 2001 SVT F-150 Lighting is another leap over the 1999-2000 model. Today's truck can do 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds and finish the quarter-mile at 100 mph in 13.9 seconds. And we can assure you, those 13.9 seconds go by very fast indeed. (That's being conservative).
SVT engineers worked diligently to improve the performance of the supercharger even though the supercharger itself was untouched. Compared to the 2000 model the Lightning's front air intake opening is 50 percent larger, with a 26 percent larger inlet opening in the filter box, providing more airflow to the supercharger and immediate throttle response. Additional rows of cooling tubes in the intercooler under the supercharger help improve power and efficiency.
The Lightning only comes equipped with a four speed automatic transmission with overdrive. No manual is offered contrary to what most enthusiasts might want. Ford doesn't have a manual transmission that can handle the Lightning's 450 ft-lbs of torque.
For its suspension the Lightning adds brand new Bilstein monotube shocks with better dampening than the tubular, gas-charged shocks found in last year's truck. The rest of the suspension and chassis remains unchanged. Compared to the 2000 model truck on hand during the drive you feel much more secure in tight corners and during hard driving. The Lightning hugs the road like Lycra on a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. When combined with the limited-slip differential in the rear and specially formulated Goodyear Eagle tires, the Lightning exhibits the best handling found in a pickup truck not sporting all-wheel drive. Any of the understeer you normally expect to find in a pickup during aggressive cornering was quickly overcome
The 2001 Lightning's exterior has received several enhancements over last year's model. Though the front fascia is still the same it sports a new billet-like grille and lower air intake. The headlights and tail lamps take a cue from the aftermarket import crowd - clear lenses. It's a great way to set the Lightning apart from the rest of the F-Series crowd and the rear lamps are especially striking.

From Expedition to Navigator: our predictions for Lincoln's SUV
Tue, Feb 7 2017In the midst of all the buzz surrounding the new aluminum Ford Expedition and Expedition Max, we remembered the other large SUV the Ford Motor Company showed last year, the Lincoln Navigator concept. And since the Navigator has historically been built on the Expedition platform, we figured there's no better time to focus some of our predictions for the big Lincoln. First off, let's take a look at design. Having seen the new Expedition, we're fairly confident that the Navigator will look almost exactly like its concept. The strong similarities between two mean the Expedition serves as a preview of what a production Navigator will look like. For example, both vehicles' greenhouses we can see that the shape of the C-pillars are nearly identical. The only difference is that the Expedition's are painted body color, while the Navigator's are painted black. Additionally, the character line running along the top of the doors on both vehicles is roughly the same height. The same goes for the more subtle crease near the bottom of the doors. We also see no reason why Lincoln wouldn't use the full width taillights, fender vent, and grille treatment it used on the concept. Those are all easy design changes to create differentiation, and they're all right inline with the cues set by the Continental. View 15 Photos For powertrain, we're pretty certain the 400-horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 previewed on the concept is a certainty now. The Expedition and Expedition Max will be offered with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost as well, so we know it will fit. We expect the Expedition's engine will produce 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque as it does in the F-150. That's less power than the Navigator concept, but it would be reasonable to make the production Navigator a bit more powerful than its lowly Ford brethren to help justify the increased price tag. Towing capacity will probably be about the same between the Ford and Lincoln, which should be something over 9,000 pounds. The Navigator will probably use the same two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive drivetrains, too. Inside is where the Expedition and Navigator will likely differ the most, particularly in seating. The Expedition offers seating for up to eight with an available second-row bench seat, and the Navigator concept had captain's chairs for every row. We're expecting the Navigator will only offer second-row captain's chairs since the cramped third row would be a waste of nice buckets.
Apollo Edition Mustang is a moonshot for charity
Wed, Jul 15 2015By putting a man on the moon, the Apollo Program stands as one of the greatest engineering achievements in human history. Ford is paying tribute to that massive triumph with the company's latest one-off Mustang for the charity auction at EAA AirVenure in Oshkosh, WI, on July 23. This Apollo Edition 'Stang is probably never leaving Earth's atmosphere, but it's going to shoot like a rocket down the road. The Apollo Edition starts as a 2015 Mustang GT, but project manager Melvin Betancourt from Ford Design comprehensively overhauls the pony car. The exterior is finished in a handsome mix of black and white, and the coupe also shows off some serious patriotism with the Stars and Stripes adorning the outside. In an especially clever touch, orange LEDs underneath are meant to make the bottom look like its heating up under re-entry. Inside, the leather upholstery gets upgraded with embroidery inspired by the Apollo Program. Whether trying to launch into space or go quicker through the quarter mile, weight is the enemy, and power is crucial. The Apollo Edition boasts carbon fiber parts for the rear diffuser, side sills, and some trim. The 5.0-liter V8 also gets a Ford Performance supercharger to take output to 627 horsepower and 540 pound-feet of torque. A set of six-piston Brembo calipers should help slow this rocket down, and 21-inch custom wheels add some style. "With this year's stunning Apollo Edition Mustang, we salute that spirit of American ingenuity with the quintessential American automobile – Ford Mustang." Edsel B. Ford II said in the special model's announcement. The coupe is the Blue Oval's eighth charity car to support the Experimental Aircraft Association. The seven before it have raised nearly $3 million for the group's work to get young people interested in flying. Watch how a Ford Raptor rolls down the assembly line in Dearborn
Sun, 30 Mar 2014Bloomberg TV reporter Matt Miller is the proud new owner of a pretty killer truck. How do we know? The reporter headed to Dearborn, MI to Ford's assembly plant, with a film crew in tow, to see exactly how his new F-150 SVT Raptor and its mother-loving 6.2-liter V8 engine, was screwed together.
The resulting video does an excellent job of summing up how an assemblage of parts and pieces is turned into a triple-black Raptor, thanks to the work of some 1,000 employees and about 20 hours of real time. Click through below to see how the truck is born, with a surprise cameo playing the part of delivery driver at the end.
