OK, THEN, I'M GOING TO GO THRU THE TIME & EFFORT TO COMPLETELY EXPLAIN IN GREAT DETAIL BY WORDS & PICS ABOUT THIS TRUCK'S CONDITION & ORIGIN SO THAT YOU FULLY & COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU WILL BE BIDDING ON. SO THIS IS WHAT I ASK IN RETURN--ANY & ALL TRADES ARE NOT WELCOME, ONLY TRADE WELCOME IS YOUR MONEY FOR MY TRUCK. IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT THE MONEY, DO NOT BID! YOU MUST HAVE PAYPAL FOR THE $2000 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT.AS FOR SCAMMERS, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY BUT I DON'T NEED THE BS, I'VE HEARD IT ALL. NOW THAT WE'RE THRU THIS. THIS IS A 1979 F150 SHORT BED, ORIGINALLY A FLEETSIDE, WHICH NOW HAS A 1994 STEPSIDE BED IN EXCELLENT COND. ENGINE IS 351M WITH A 4 SPD TRANS. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK FROM THE ORIG. FAMILY OWNER WHO HAS GIVEN ME THE CLEAR TITLE IN SPRINGFIELD, MA WHERE IT WAS SITTING IN A DELAPITATED GARAGE FOR NO LESS THAN 20 YRS. BY NO MEANS WAS THIS A "BARN FIND." THE ONLY THING THE TRUCK HAD GOING FOR IT AT THE TIME OF MY PURCHASE WAS VERY LOW MILEAGE & A SOLID UNDERCARRIAGE. AS FOR THE SHEET METAL, IT WAS PRETTY MUCH DESTROYED--SO IT IS ESSENTIALLY A FRAME-OFF RESTORATION. FOR STARTERS, I INSTALLED A '79 F350 CAB FROM A U-HAUL TRUCK. FYI--U-HAUL WAS THE ONLY COMPANY THAT FORD ESPECIALLY APPLIED SOME VERY SPECIAL RUST INHIBITOR IN EVERY CORNER & CREVICE OF THIS CAB, SO ALL THE COMMON ROT SPOTS ARE NON-EXISTENT. ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION--ROOF LINE, DRIP EDGES, LOWER COWL AREA, FRONT BODY MOUNTS & REAR BODY MOUNTS& ROCKER PANELS & CAB CORNERS. HOWEVER, I MYSELF HAVE REPLACED CAB CORNERS & REAR BODY MOUNTS (I'M A PROFESSIONAL WELDER).AS FOR OTHER BODY PANELS, SOME WERE NEW & SOME WERE USED. I INSTALLED A FIBERGLASS LIGHTED LUND VISOR WHICH I HAVEN'T WIRED TO THE SWITCH. ALL USED PANELS WERE IN GREAT COND. HOOD--USED. FENDERS--NEW. CHROME GRILLE & HEADLIGHT BUCKETS--NEW. ALUMINUM GRILLE SHELL--USED. FRONT BUMPER--NEW, BACK BUMPER--NEW,  DOORS--USED, SEAT NEWLY UPHOLSTERED, CARPET--NEW, BLACK DASH PAD--USED, HEADLINER--USED. REPLACED MECHANICALS--NEW RADIATOR, NEW CARB, NEW EXHAUST SYSTEM, BRAKES ARE 80%, TIRES ARE 50% ON 16" ALUM MAGS. AS FOR THE BLACK PAINT JOB, THIS IS FRESHLY NEW & NOT FROM MAACO. ALSO WHEN THIS WAS STRIPPED DOWN TO JUST THE CHASSIS, I COMPLETELY STEAM CLEANED EVERY SPOT ON THIS CHASSIS, HOWEVER, BLOWING OFF ANY & ALL LOOSE FACTORY UNDERCOATING SO A LOT OF THE CHASSIS HAS A PERFECTLY NORMAL VERY FINE RUST AS IT SHOULD. I REFUSE TO JUST COVER IT OVER FOR A MUCH BETTER LOOK. IT'S MUCH BETTER BEING LEFT ALONE OR TREAT THE FRAME FIRST& THEN UNDERCOAT--YOUR CHOICE. THIS TRUCK RUNS, DRIVES, HANDLES, SOUNDS OUTSTANDING. NOT A SQUEAK, NOT A RATTLE, VERY STRONG & POWERFUL RUNNING TRUCK. IT HAS POWER STEERING & POWER BRAKES BUT NEVER EVEN HAD A RADIO INSTALLED. THE WIRING HARNESS IS COMPLETELY UNMOLESTED. EVERY SINGLE THING WORKS AS IT SHOULD.

Next Ford Raptor spotted wearing aluminum skin

Wed, 07 May 2014

Well, look at what we have here. Judging from these spy shots, Ford is indeed working on the next generation of its off-road-ready F-150 Raptor pickup truck. We've made no attempt to hide our appreciation for the Baja-style truck, which combines most of the usability of a fullsize truck with heavy-duty suspension components to make a kind of performance vehicle that is unique in the market.
What we haven't known, until now, is whether Ford would push forward with its Raptor program now that it has a completely new F-150 to serve as its base. And that's especially true since Ford made the bold move of switching the bodywork of its best-seller from tried-and-true steel to aluminum. As you can see above, the front and rear of this silver truck are clad in current-gen Raptor bodywork, while the center section that houses the occupants appears to come from the upcoming 2015 F-150.
Dissecting the views above, we note a few interesting tidbits. First, there looks to be a bulge in the truck's hood. Second, we see a new grille between the current Raptor's headlights, sporting a mesh finish and two horizontal bars. Lastly, our eyes can't help but lock in on those burly A-arm suspension pieces down below, not to mention all that ground clearance the specialty suspenders bring to the table.

2015 Ford Mustang: Obsessively covered [w/videos + poll]

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

Here at Autoblog, we've officially stamped December 5, 2013, as Ford Mustang Day. Sure, the sixth-generation Pony Car started leaking out onto the web days ago, but all of the official, non-embargoed hotness has come out today. And man, there's been a lot.
In terms of new car debuts, this is a really big one - not unlike all of the Corvette madness that kicked off the 2013 automotive season. So to make sure you haven't missed anything, here's a wrap-up of everything you need to know about the 2015 Ford Mustang.

2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor vs. 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon: How they compare on paper

Tue, Jan 21 2020

(Editor's Note: Due to inconsistencies in manufacturer reporting methods for ground clearance, an earlier version of this article stated the Ram Power Wagon's "ground clearance" to be 14.3 inches when in fact that is its "running clearance," which is deemed the ground to the lowest point of the truck MINUS the axles. The numbers below now reflect true ground clearance, or the ground to the lowest point of the truck, period. The chart and text have been updated to show both measurements for maximum accuracy and clarity.) For several years, the Ram 2500 Power Wagon has been the unquestioned king of heavy duty off-roaders. But competition is coming, and some of the strongest is from the 2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor. We decided to take a look at these trucks' specs and features to see how they compare in the realm of capability. The raw numbers are below along with some notes on each truck's unique features that go beyond the spec sheet. Off-road capability While both of these trucks boast impressive clambering abilities, each with particular strengths. The Super Duty Tremor earns points for better ground clearance and axle clearance, as well as approach angle. Some of the credit goes to the larger 35-inch tires and a shortened front air dam. On the other hand, the Power Wagon leads the Ford in departure angle, and in the ramp travel index. The latter is largely the result of the Power Wagon's electronically disconnecting sway bars, and for those unfamiliar, the ramp travel index measures articulation by having a truck drive one wheel up a ramp with the other on the ground. The farther the truck goes with the ground wheel in contact with the, well, ground, the better the score and the better the articulation. Numbers aren't everything, though. It's important to look at the equipment each truck offers, and things are closer, here, but the Ram still has an edge. Both feature off-road-friendly solid axles at both ends, but only the Power Wagon has fully locking differentials front and rear. The Tremor has a locking rear differential while the front is a limited-slip differential. The Power Wagon comes standard with a 12,000-pound integrated Warn winch, whereas such a winch is an option on the Tremor. The Tremor has its own unique features, though, including the 35-inch tires rather than the Ram's 33-inchers, and it has Ford's fancy off-road cruise control function called Trail Control. Both trucks have shocks and springs tuned for off-road use.
