Up for auction is my 1968 Ford F-100 F100 SHORT BED with almost no rust on it. most of the upgrades I’ve done are cosmetic but in my opinion unique. the truck has no engine or transmission but it's because I wanted to put in the engine, transmission, suspension, and wiring from my 2005 crown Victoria, the idea was to have a more reliable fuel injection system with disc brakes all around and a better suspension. a lot of people have done this swap, including the guys from gas monkey garage on their Frankenstein truck. There's some videos on youtube about that swap.  I’ve had the truck for almost 10 years so I figured that I’m not going to finish the restoration, my loss is your gain. Title in hand and No DMV back fees are owed on the truck since this ford has been on non-op. Truck is sold as is, where is, Local pickup only unless you arrange for delivery. The truck is being sold locally so the truck may be removed during auction.

some of the upgrades are:
shaved tailgate and moved the handle to the inside
custom fiberglass tonneau cover ( its not done yet, but almost there)
2003 ford f150 seats
front grill is a combination of a 68 and a 74, lights are from the 68 and grill from the 74 (looks sporty)
rear fiberglass bumper cap, im going to remove the corvette lights, I don't like how they look.

Aluminum lightweighting does, in fact, save fuel

When the best-selling US truck sheds the equivalent weight of three football fullbacks by shifting to aluminum, folks start paying attention. Oak Ridge National Laboratory took a closer look at whether the reduced fuel consumption from a lighter aluminum body makes up for the fact that producing aluminum is far more energy intensive than steel. And the results of the study are pretty encouraging. In a nutshell, the energy needed to produce a vehicle's raw materials accounts for about 10 percent of a typical vehicle's carbon footprint during its total lifecycle, and that number is up from six percent because of advancements in fuel economy (fuel use is down to about 68 percent of total emissions from about 75 percent). Still, even with that higher material-extraction share, the fuel-efficiency gains from aluminum compared to steel will offset the additional vehicle-extraction energy in just 12,000 miles of driving, according to the study. That means that, from an environmental standpoint, aluminum vehicles are playing with the house's money after just one year on the road. Aluminum-sheet construction got topical real quickly earlier this year when Ford said the 2015 F-150 pickup truck would go to a 93-percent aluminum body construction. In addition to aluminum being less corrosive than steel, that change caused the F-150 to shed 700 pounds from its curb weight. And it looks like the Explorer and Expedition SUVs may go on an aluminum diet next. Take a look at SAE International's synopsis of the Oak Ridge Lab's study below. To assess the primary energy and carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) implications of vehicle designs utilizing these materials, this study examines the potential life cycle impacts of two lightweight material alternative vehicle designs, i.e., steel and aluminum of a typical passenger vehicle operated today in North America. LCA for three common alternative lightweight vehicle designs are evaluated: current production ("Baseline"), an advanced high strength steel and aluminum design ("LWSV"), and an aluminum-intensive design (AIV).

There's a lot to love about Focus ST and Fiesta ST, but if neither of those is enough for you, we've got good news: Ford has even more potent RS versions of both in the works. The Focus RS we already saw last month, but here we have our first spy shots of the smaller Fiesta RS undergoing testing. Spotted alongside still-camouflaged prototypes of its big brother, the new Ford Fiesta RS is wearing a modified front end, flared fenders packing a wider track and a revised rear-end. The beefed-up bodywork is all well and fine, but we're looking forward to finding out what's underneath it all. Sources point towards a 250-horsepower version of Dearborn's 1.6-liter EcoBoost turbo four, along with upgraded brakes and suspension. The big question, though, is whether the production Fiesta RS will pack the new performance all-wheel-drive system from its larger counterpart, or stick with front-drive and some sort of clever diff. It may be too early to tell, as this pocket rocket is likely a good year away from its debut, but in the meantime you can scope out the spy shots in the slideshow above for a taste of what's to come. Ford is ending Australian production after 90 years in 2016, and with it may go perhaps the most iconic vehicles in its auto market - the ute. Car-based pickup trucks like the Ford Ranchero and Chevrolet El Camino were always more of a curiosity than a true market force here, but in Australia, they have long proven hugely popular.
As the legend goes, Ford invented the niche after a farmer's wife had asked Ford Australia's managing director for a more utilitarian car. Her request was simple: "My husband and I can't afford a car and a truck but we need a car to go to church on Sunday and a truck to take the pigs to market on Monday. Can you help?"
Ford's design team came up with a two-passenger, enclosed, steel coupe body with glass windows and a steel-paneled, wooden-frame load area in the rear. The sides of the bed were blended into the body to make it look more unified, and to keep costs down, the front end and interior were based on the Ford Model 40 five-window coupe. Power came from a V8 with shifting chores handled by a three-speed manual. Within a year, the new vehicle was ready, and production began in 1934. Lead designer Lewis Bandt christened it the coupe-utility.
