1962 Ford F100 Unibody Long Bed on 2040-cars
Central Point, Oregon, United States
|
1962 Ford F100 unibody long bed pickup. 292 cu. in. V-8, 3 speed on the floor. Starts and runs good, no smoke, transmission shifts smooth and brakes work. Gauges work (even the gas gauge) lights, turn signals, heater, wipers and cab vents all work. Volt meter and tach have been added to the original gauges and they also work. Seat is in good shape, has one small tear (easy fix). Glass is all good, none broken. Head liner is missing. Dash and doors have never been cut. Has five good tires including the spare and they all match. Recent work includes fuel tank , battery, muffler and radiator all replaced. Also has had recent tune up. Body is very solid, Doors close like a vault and included are the original door keys, locks work. The only rust that I see is just starting in the drip rails above both doors and is still easy to repair, not rusted through (see pic's). Doors, steps inside the doors, cab floor (has good floor mats) and bed floor are in good condition. Has been painted top to bottom, even the frame (see pic's) and will need to be repainted to make it look nice. If you are looking for the rat rod look it already has it. Pickup is in driver condition, would make great rat rod or total restoration candidate. The only thing that I know of that is not original is that the transmission shifter was moved to the floor from the column after the shifter broke. Original shift handle is included but the collar on the column will need to be replaced to fix it. Pickup has not been licensed since 2013 so should probably be trailered. Local pickup only but I will load it on a truck for new owner if you make arangements and pay shipping. Vehicle odometer shows 66799 but is probably not original mileage. Comes with clear Oregon title. E mail with questions.

Ford E-Series chassis cabs and cutaways to survive mass Transit onslaught
Fri, 18 Apr 2014In March 2013, Ford announced we'd be getting chassis cab and cutaway versions of the Transit. Since incoming Transit vans will soon be rolling over the grave of the E-Series van, it was assumed that all E-Series models would go six feet under as well. According to a report from PickupTrucks.com, however, that's not the case, the report claiming that the highly modifiable E-350 and E-450 chassis cab and cutaway versions will continue being produced in Avon Lake, Ohio "at least until 2020."
Being decades old, the be-cabbed E-Series platform has found its way under an army of heavy-duty shuttle buses, work truck and ambulances. Ford spokeswoman Jessica Enoch verified the production horizon, telling Autoblog that the particular E-Series configuration "are a higher GVWR than the Transit chassis cab and cutaway (available this summer), which is more Class 2 and a new segment for us." So there you have it.
Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has a bit of a dyno issue
Tue, 28 May 2013We're of the mind that each and every dyno should come with Murphy's Law painted in big, visible letters down the side. For every ten successful dyno runs out there, it seems there's one where events to horribly wrong. Take, for example, the video below. The clip shows what happens when a Ford Shelby GT500 and a mobile dyno have a bit of a disagreement at the Performance Expo 24 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. We won't spoil the results for you, but we will say there's some substantial carnage involved.
It's unclear just how much damage ensues from the dust up or whether anyone was harmed in the incident, but from the looks of things, everyone made it out without serious injury. If only we could say the same for the machines involved. Check out the video below.
