1956 Ford F100 Factory Custom Cab Big Window Truck on 2040-cars
Concord, California, United States
1956 Ford F100 Factory Custom Cab Big Window Truck. This Truck has been in our family for 35 years. It received a light frame-on restore at about that time. Every chrome piece was replaced and a few additional pieces were chromed. We drove the truck around until 1988 when it was parked inside a garage in mild California. There it has sat for 26+ years. It received a few nicks and scratches over the years it was stored. The paint does shine and the pictures show the condition of the truck very well. This truck has only 2 tiny rust spots in the very rear bottoms of the doors, Cab corners are perfect as is the whole rest of the truck. The bed currently has a piece of plywood installed but included with sale is a new set of bed wood and metal strips. As you might imagine you can’t just start a truck after sitting that long so my Brother-in-law & I changed the oil, replaced the water pump and hoses, flushed the fuel system, replaced the battery, replaced the brake master and bled the brakes. Tires need to be replaced as should be after 10 years on any car and the shocks need new bushings or replaced. Truck runs smooth and shifts into all gears but did appear to be leaking some trans fluid from the front seal. We put in some seal stopper and didn’t notice any more after driving a couple blocks. This truck has an uncut straight axle frame with the only changes to it being the engine and Trans from a 67 mustang 289/C4 and Tru Spoke wheels. Floors, battery box area are all in original metal. Un-hacked trucks in this condition are hard to come by, it leaves you the option to return to stock or customize into your dream truck. Also included with sale is a set of factory service manuals. If anyone wants pics of a certain area let me know and I will provide. Good luck and happy bidding.

Ford Escort testing, may be bound for Europe
Tue, 01 Apr 2014There has been little news about Ford's China-focused Escort concept since debuting at last year's Shanghai Motor Show, but the no-frills sedan has shown its camouflaged face again during cold weather testing in Northern Sweden. While far from a guarantee, the test location might hint that the Blue Oval plans to market the car outside of Asia.
The Escort's black robe and zebra paint make it hard to tell if anything specific has changed about the design, but the shape of the sedan looks close to what was shown in Shanghai. Under the disguise, you can still make out the hexagonal front grille from the concept. When Ford announced the model, the company said that the design wasn't supposed to be "arrogant or pretentious," and it certainly achieved that. The engine range is still a mystery, but it seems safe to expect small, economy-focused powertrains.
A report from last year indicated that Ford may be considering broadening the new Escort beyond Asia and possibly even selling it in Europe. The fact that the company brought it to Sweden for testing could bolster that argument. A release date hasn't been set yet, but the automaker has promised 15 new products for China by 2015. The basic sedan could be on the road soon.
Bill Ford wins National Pond Hockey Championship with employees
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Who says executives aren't people? This past weekend, Bill Ford, executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, and a group of employees trekked up to Eagle River, WI for a few games of pond hockey. Team Ford took part in the 2014 Labatt Blue/USA Pond Hockey Championship, capturing its fifth title in the 50+ Tier 1 Division.
"It feels great to win," Ford, who plays on the team alongside other Ford employees, told the USA Hockey website. "It was fun to play [River Valley Pioneers] because they're great guys and we play them every year. We finally beat them, which we were due. It was a very clean game, a tough game."
The FoMoCo team managed to score seven goals to River Valley's two, and went undefeated in all five of its games during the tourney. Take a look below for the official press release on Team Ford's win.
Hot-selling Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator get production boost
Mon, Feb 12 2018Ford is investing an additional $25 million in its Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville to increase by 25 percent production of the hot-selling and all-new Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition SUVs. The investment adds to $900 million in previously announced spending at the plant, which also builds F-Series Super-Duty pickups and employs 8,400 workers. Assembly-line workers are putting in overtime and working voluntary weekend shifts to keep up with demand. The new investment will cover upgrades to the assembly line but does not involve further hiring, Ford spokeswoman Kelli Felker says. The popularity of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator is a bright spot as Ford stock has been battered by Wall Street amid concerns concerns about the automaker's future vision and slowness to detect trends. Ford says the investment is an example of its bid to improve "operational fitness," one of CEO Jim Hackett's common refrains. Ford says Navigator retail sales more than doubled in January, and Navigators are spending an average of just seven days on Lincoln dealership lots as customers trade in vehicles including Land Rovers and Mercedes-Benz. Nearly 85 percent of buyers are opting for high-end Black Label and Reserve trim packages, contributing to an average transaction price increase of more than $21,000 in January compared to a year ago. The 2018 Navigator won the North American Truck of the Year award and also topped a Detroit News poll of public favorites at last month's Detroit Auto Show. Sales of the Expedition, meanwhile, were up almost 57 percent last month as the full-size SUVs also spent an average of just a week on dealer lots. Platinum trim models represented 29 percent of sales, pushing transaction price increases up $7,800. Ford gave the 2018 Expedition an all-aluminum body to save mass in its first significant redesign since 2007. The plant last year got nearly 400 new robots, mainly in the body shop, to help increase line speed, and Ford added a robot lab where employees can test software tweaks or troubleshoot issues away from the factory floor. The Louisville plant also benefits from extensive new data analytics, with seven big-screen monitors providing minute-by-minute updates showing progress against hourly targets or alerting workers to pending parts shortages. A huge spare-parts "vending machine" lets workers more quickly locate needed parts and keep inventory at necessary levels.
