1953 Ford F-100 pickup truck
This truck is all steel. The top has been chopped 3 inches. It has a Chevy small block 350 blower motor with a B&M supercharger. The drive train is from a 70’s era Chevy Nova or Camaro. The transmission is a 700R4 and a 10 bolt rear end. The tires are new. Has power windows and door poppers. This is a really good driving truck. The engine and transmission are trouble free to the best of my knowledge. I acquired this truck last year and know very little about it. We have worked on it tweaking some of the problems we observed such as tires, battery, replacement door poppers, rebuilt the alternator. The truck is painted PEPTO BISMOL PINK inside and out. This truck was built locally around 15 to 20 years ago. I believe the gentleman who built it also built a 53 Ford panel truck and painted it the same. He has since passed away. I have decided to sell off a lot of “gear head stuff” as I am getting too old and tired to fool with all this anymore and I just don’t seem to have enough time. I also have a 36 Chevy Sedan Delivery, a couple of Yamaha Wave Runners and a 78 Malibu with a big block I am planning on selling soon. That is all I really know about the truck. It is a nice truck and it would cost a fortune to build it the way it is built. People either love or hate the color. It has ghost flames on the sides of the front fenders that you may not see in the photos. I have never sold anything on Ebay before although I have been a buyer for 10+ years. If you buy this truck it is what is, as is, where is. I have a perfect rating score on Ebay and want to keep it that way. If you buy it I require NON-REFUNDABLE $500.00 deposit via Paypal within 72 hours of the auction ending and arrangements to pick up the truck within 10 days of receipt of the deposit. The remainder is to be paid in cash. I understand there are a lot of shady deals with payments and I do not want to be taken advantage of. The information provided is not warranted. Some information is assumed as passed along from hear say and some I have deducted from my observations. I am trying to be as honest as possible regarding what I am describing the truck as being and as to how it is equipped. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them as time permits. It is possible I may withdraw this truck from the auction if I get a response from word of mouth regarding its being for sale. A lot of people I know and that have heard about it would love to have it but do not have the funds or can not justify purchasing it. The $500.00 deposit is not refundable. |

Ford continues autonomous tech development
Sat, Jun 27 2015Some of the autonomous-driving features that Ford offers in Europe will come to the United States as soon as next year. The Blue Oval will add the pre-collision assist and pedestrian detection technologies that it has already installed on the Mondeo sedan in Europe. Those features, part of what Ford calls the "second of three phases" in driverless technology, will be brought stateside in a yet-to-be disclosed model, while most of Ford's US vehicle line will have the features by 2019. It has been testing an automated Fusion for more than a year. Ford is looking to build upon the autonomous-vehicle technology that it already has on models such as the Fusion, Taurus, F-150, Edge, and Explorer. Those amenities include active-park assist, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring. Ford said early last year that it was working with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Stanford University to develop algorithms for use in driverless cars. The effort is part of Ford's so-called "Blueprint for Mobility" geared toward autonomous driving features that are being developed over the next decade. FORD COLLABORATES WITH SILICON VALLEY INNOVATION ECOSYSTEM ON AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES, 3D PRINTING, WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY Autonomous vehicle technology is another step closer to production at Ford – moving from a research effort to an advanced engineering project Ford announces it is working with Silicon Valley-based 3D-printing firm Carbon3D to quickly produce high-quality automotive-grade parts Ford kicks off wearable technology development with MyFord® Mobile app extension – coming soon to smartwatches including Android Wear – providing customers the ability to check vehicle driving range, battery charge and more for their plug-in hybrid or electric vehicle quickly from their wrists Autonomous vehicle technology is another step closer to production at Ford, moving from a research effort to an advanced engineering program, the company announced today. Ford has appointed a director of autonomous vehicle development – 29-year Ford veteran Randy Visintainer – and created a global team to work on the advanced program. Ford Research and Innovation Center Palo Alto is working on the global Ford team to deliver the Ford Smart Mobility plan, which aims to take the company to the next level in connectivity, mobility, autonomous vehicles, the customer experience and big data.
2016 Ford Taurus to ride atop reworked Fusion platform
Wed, 19 Mar 2014Generally, cars get bigger and heavier as they get older. That's why it looks so ridiculous when you park a classic Mini next to a modern version. The same can be said of the Corvette, the BMW 3 Series, Porsche 911 and, of course, the Ford Taurus. In the Taurus' case, though, that size has become a liability, particularly because the big brute isn't nearly as sizable on the inside as it is on the out.
For 2016, Ford is aiming to rectify that. According to Edmunds, the 2016 Taurus will ride on a stretched and widened Ford Fusion platform. Ford is expecting this move to go a long way in trimming the Taurus' ample body fat.
"The problem with today's Taurus is that it is overweight and even the high performance SHO is not really competitive," said a source that spoke to Edmunds on condition of anonymity. The 365-horsepower SHO variant, "actually weighs about as much as the stretched Audi A8 L. Of course, Audi uses an extensive amount of aluminum, but it is a much bigger car."
Autoblog's June 2019 Editors' Picks
Wed, Jul 10 2019Each year we review, test and rate hundreds of brand-new cars, trucks and SUVs. We rate these vehicles using the Autoblog score, giving a select few our Editors’ Pick. Here are the best cars we drove in June 2019. 2019 BMW 8 Series Everyone on the Autoblog staff loves a good grand tourer, so we were excited to get behind the wheel of the revived BMW 8 Series, specifically an M850i Coupe. A good GT needs to be as fast as it is stylish and comfortable, and the new 8 Series delivers. We particularly like the 523-horsepower twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8Â’s copious power and smooth ride quality, even on MichiganÂ’s pockmarked post-winter roads. We dig the interior design, too, though not everyone was in love with the exterior. ItÂ’s not the best-handling car in its class, and doesnÂ’t hide its sizable proportions very well, but itÂ’s still worth a look if youÂ’re looking for a big, fast cruiser. 2019 Ford Expedition Crossovers may be the hottest vehicles on the market, but thereÂ’s still a sizable demand for traditional body-on-frame SUVs like the Ford Expedition. These behemoths offer plenty of space in addition to truck-like capability. We like the Expedition's smooth ride, powerful twin-turbo V6 and sharp exterior design, though the interior can feel a bit cheap, especially on some of the more expensive trims. Adding options quickly puts it into Lincoln Navigator territory, and itÂ’s hard to recommend the Ford over the Lincoln when the latter packs the same capability into a far nicer package. Still, the Expedition is as good or better than the competition in most respects, and thatÂ’s why itÂ’s one of our picks. 2019 Toyota 86 Few cars at any price point are as much fun as the Toyota 86 (and its twin, the Subaru BRZ). We like the 86Â’s balanced chassis and sharp steering, and while itÂ’s not as nimble as its close rival the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the ToyotaÂ’s back seat and trunk make it a more usable vehicle. But while we like the 86Â’s driving position, the rest of the interior feels cheap and dated, especially the infotainment system. We complained about the anemic powertrain back in 2012, and itÂ’s only gotten worse as the years have gone by.
