OUR DAUGHTER IS NOW DRIVING AND WE HAVE DECIDED TO DOWN SIZE TO A SMALLER VEHICLE SINCE WE NO LONGER REALLY NEED THIS MULTI PASSENGER VEHICLE. AS YOU KNOW THE 5.4 L MOTOR IS A GOOD RUNNING MOTOR AND SHOULD GIVE YOU MANY MORE MILES. THE TRANSMISSION HAS ONLY 60,000 MILES ON IT AND STILL GOING STRONG. I HAD A NEW ONE PUT IN AT THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. THIS IS A SMOKE FREE VEHICLE AND ALL LEATHER IS IN GOOD CONDITION. NO TEARS. IT DOES HAVE A THIRD ROW THE TIRES ARE AT ABOUT 50% MULTI CD PLAYER AC AND HEAT WORKS GREAT. HEATED SEATS WORK AS WELL. THIS TRUCK HAS ONLY A COUPLE REPAIRS NEEDED ISSUES, ONE IS THE COIL PACK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, BUT STILL CAN BE DRIVEN. A COIL PACK RUNS AROUND $125.00. SECONDLY THE DRIVER WINDOW IS STUCK UP, AND PROBABLY WILL NEED A NEW WINDOW MOTOR . THE EXTERIOR SHOW SOME PAINT CHIPPING ON THE HOOD AND A FEW SCRATCHED ON THE BODY. Ward's Automotive Ten Best Engines of 2014 dominated by diesels, turbos
Thu, 12 Dec 2013With the Car and Driver Ten Best decided, the North American Car and Truck of the Year finalists announced and Cadillac, Ram and Subaru chalking up wins with Motor Trend, it's fair to say that the automotive awards season is in full swing. The next set of trophies to be handed out will be from Ward's Automotive, which has announced the winners of its 2014 10 Best Engines.
The latest contest was marked by the widespread emergence of diesel power and the continued success of turbocharged engines. There was even an electric motor on this year's list. In fact, only three of the ten winners were naturally aspirated and only two winners returned from last year.
"We weren't looking to throw the bums out, as they might say about an election. We were just really impressed with the flood of new powertrains," said Ward's Automotive Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter. Those new powertrains include the 83-kilowatt electric motor from the Fiat 500e, the 1.0-liter, EcoBoost three-cylinder from the Ford Fiesta and the 2.0-liter turbodiesel from the Chevrolet Cruze.
Ford builds USAF Thunderbirds Edition Mustang for charity
Tue, 02 Jul 2013Each year since 2008, Ford has created a one-off Mustang to celebrate military aviation, and the cars have been auctioned off at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Gathering of Eagles charity event to raise money to inspire the next generation of aviators. This year's charity car is the 2014 Ford Mustang GT US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition, which also helps celebrate 60 years of Thunderbirds air show excellence.
Of all the EAA charity cars, this Thunderbirds Edition is the most in depth. Painted to match the F-16 Tomcat fighter jets used by Thunderbirds, this Mustang also gets a widebody kit and 22-inch Forgiato wheels to go with the cockpit's Recaro bucket seats, rear-seat delete and modified navigation screen and gauge cluster. Even the Mustang's projector puddle lights have been changed to show an aircraft silhouette - rather than the Mustang's galloping horse logo - when the doors are open.
Themes for previous EAA charity cars include the Blue Angels, SR-71 Blackbird and the Red Tails as well as the F-22 Raptor-inspired AV8R and AV-X10 "Dearborn Doll" models. FL man fatally shot after urging driver not to do donuts in a Mustang
Tue, 18 Nov 2014Bradley Holt (pictured), the older half-brother of University of South Florida freshman quarterback Quinton Flowers, was killed in a random act of violence last week.
The 24-year-old Holt was throwing a football around with local kids in Allapattah, a neighborhood in Miami, when a yellow Mustang showed up and started doing donuts in the street. Holt, worried about kids playing in front his apartment complex, walked over to the driver and asked him why he was "driving so crazy with so many kids out here?"
The driver left. Holt's sister said the driver came back "about 15 to 20 minutes later" and fired two shots at Holt. One of them hit Holt in the back of the head, killing him.
