2005 Ford Excursion Limited 6.8l V10, 98k, Dvd, Leather, Extremely Clean on 2040-cars
Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, United States
If you've been looking for the perfect vehicle to get your boat out of the water or get that camper pulled to your favorite destination and need to haul the whole family, than my extremely clean 2005 Ford Excursion Limited V10 with DVD and just 98,000 pampered miles is for you.
Mechanically this truck runs strong. Motor sounds strong through all the RPM's and pulls nice through all the gears. Transmission shifts smoothly with no funny shifts or slipping. Rolls down the road well. No shakes or shimmies. Brakes feel good. A/C is ice cold in the front and rear. Tires have about 85% tread left. Just an all around well maintained truck that's ready to go when you are. Cosmetically this thing is pretty darn clean. Paint shines like new in the sun. Body is nice and straight with no door dings. Small scratch on the fuel door and a stone chip or two on the hood and fender that have been touched in are the only flaws I've found. Definitely garage kept. Interior is as fresh as they come. Leather, carpet and headliner are all in great shape with minimal wear. Smells great inside and hasn't been smoked in. You'll be thoroughly impressed with the condition of this Excursion. Overall this is a great all around truck to use as a daily driver or to pull your boat or camper around a few times a year. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call at 717-823-3349. My name is Zach. I am only human and may have missed something that is important to you so please ask any questions before buying. A $500 non refundable deposit is due at the end of the auction. Ford recalling 126,000 Fusions and Milans over wheel separation concern
Fri, 09 Dec 2011Ford has announced a recall of certain Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles after an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A total of 128,616 2010 and 2011 models equipped with steel wheels may have been manufactured with wheel studs that could crack and split over time. If that happens, the vehicle may experience a wheel separation.
According to The Detroit News, the company is aware of a total of 30 wheel separation incidents, one of which occurred on the front of the vehicle. Even so, no injuries have been reported as a result of the defect.
The problem apparently stems from the fact that the mounting pads on the vehicles' steel wheels may have been faulty from the factory. In addition, the wheel mounting face on rear disc brakes may not have been installed properly. Ford will inspect the rear disc face and replace them as necessary. In addition, the company will replace all of the vehicle's wheel studs free of charge. Head to the NHTSA website for more information, and click past the jump to view the full recall notice.
Watch the Hennessey Ford GT makes its record run at Texas Mile
Wed, 27 Mar 2013We said they'd probably be out with an official video, we did not lie. The Hennessey-powered camouflage Ford GT sat at one end of the runway at the Texas Mile sitting still. At the other end of the runway it had broken its own speed record, the twin-turbo 5.7-liter V8 pushing the aerodynamic supercar up to 267.6 miles per hour, a 4.3-mph improvement over the old mark.
There's not much in the video you haven't already seen, this just makes it official. That said, who doesn't want to see a twin-turbo Ford GT set an incredible speed record? You can watch it below.
Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.
