This Ford Edge Sport AWD powered by the same 3.7L V6 found in the Mustang, another Ti-VCT unit that produces an impressive 305 hp and 280 ft-lb of torque.

6-speed Automatic Transmission this Ford Edge Sport comes standard with standard automatic and SelectShift paddle system to allow precise control for the driver.

The Edge Sport has comfortable seating for five and 32 cubic feet of cargo room with the rear seats up, more than double that with them folded. Available features include a power liftgate and Panoramic Vista Roof that combines a sliding sunroof with a large glass panel over the rear seats. Standard in the Sport is the new MyFord Touch, which utilizes a combination of 8-inch Sony powered LCD touchscreen and voice command to control audio and climate systems; the system replaces many traditional knobs and dials and allows drivers quicker, easier access to common devices. MyFord pioneers the use of iTunes tagging, which "captures" a song being played and stores it in memory for later purchase from iTunes. Included in the MyFord interface are two USB ports, three RCA jacks, and a digital media card dock that also accepts a mobile broadband card. Also available on the 2012 Edge is Ford's Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support. The system detects a potential crash and warns the driver, reduces vehicle speed, and pre-charges the brakes for a quicker stop. The Edge also offers Ford's Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert, which warns of cars in adjacent lanes and of approaching vehicles when backing out of parking spots. Finally, for teenaged drivers, MyKey allows Edge owners to program set vehicle speeds and to encourage seat belt usage with persistent beeping and reduced audio volume.

Saleen SA-30 Mustang, Camaro and Challenger help celebrate the big 3-0

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

After 30 years of tuning performance cars and building racecars, Saleen is celebrating its racing heritage with a limited-production car line called SA-30. Based on the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, Saleen will only build 10 of each SA-30 model at a base price of $95,000.
For that money, buyers will get upgraded suspension, brakes and engines, and while the power figures have not been released for the SA-30 620 Camaro and SA-30570 Challenger models, the SA-30 302 Mustang will be the top performer with 625 horsepower. Each car will be painted up in a custom pearl white hue with black and yellow accents, and get white wheels shrouding yellow powder-coated brake calipers. Inside, the SA-30 offerings will all get a proper Saleen interior with black leather and white Alcantara on the seats, along with the expected smattering of SA-30 badges.
On all three SA-30 models, customers will have various options available to further customize their cars, including a rear-seat delete option that transforms each car's cabin into a race-inspired interior with a chassis-strengthening rear cross brace. Perhaps the coolest feature of all, though, is the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass that is an option on the SA-30 302 Mustang. Similar to the Mercedes Sky Control roof first introduced on the Mercedes SLK, the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass allows the Mustang's optional glass roof and rear window to be switched from transparent to opaque at the push of a button.

2015 Ford F-150 gets Power Wheels treatment [w/video]

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

With the introduction of its forthcoming 2015 F-150, Ford is breaking with convention by shifting from steel-intensive construction to aluminum. But what if it weren't made of metal altogether? What if it were made of plastic instead, and packed an electric motor instead of an internal-combustion engine?
Feast your eyes, boys and girls, on the new Power Wheels F-150. Built by Fisher-Price and licensed by Ford, the third-generation ride-on toy started development nine months before the full-size version debuted at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, and is hitting sidewalks and driveways across the country this September.
The Power Wheels F-150 carries a sticker price of $349.99, and there's a special version at Toys R Us with LED headlamps (just like the real F-150) for an extra $10.

Project Ugly Horse: Part VIII

Now With More EcoBoost
There's an EcoBoost 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in there somewhere, and it's headed straight for Ugly Horse.
For the second time in my life, I'm staring at an engine in the back of a truck with no concept of how to get it safely into the garage by my lonesome. The first time this happened, I dragged home a $300 International 345 V8 in the back of my Scout Terra only to discover that the bounds of my manliness terminated well before my ability to muscle that 800-pound cast iron block out of the pickup bed.
