This !0 passenger Braun Conversion Ford E-350 Super Duty Wheelchair Van is in great shape. The van is ADA Compliant. It had a New Jasper Transmission installed about a year ago. The engine runs smooth with no known problems.. We have been very satisfied with this van but no longer have a need for it. You can put 1 wheelchair and 8 passengers or 2 wheelchairs and 6 passengers or 10 passengers.in this unit comfortably. Tires and exhaust are in good shape. This vehicle seems to be rust free and came out of High Point, North Carolina . The interior is in great shape but as you can see in the pictures one fold-up seat has two small tears and one stationary seat has a small tear. Other than that the interior shows very little wear.. The Braun Lift is in good working order. The Dual A/C blows cold. It is in great shape for its age and is easy to heat in the winter and cool in the summer. We have owned it for one (1) year and have been extremely happy with the van. We no longer have a use for it. We have tried to be very accurate in our descriptions as you can see in the photos. The winning bidder is to pay $500 down payment within 48 hours after the auction ends. We do accept PayPal. The balance will be due on or before delivery in the form of cash or Cashiers Check. Ford recalling nearly 700k Escape CUVs, C-Max hybrids over two separate safety issues
Fri, 09 May 2014Poor Escape. Ever since its launch in 2012, Ford's small CUV has been the subject of many, many, many recalls. And today, The Detroit News is reporting that Ford is adding two more recalls to the 2013-14 model year Escape's permanent record, one of them also involves the C-Max hybrid hatchback.
The first recall, covering 692,500 Escape and C-Max vehicles, is due to a software glitch that could cause the airbags - specifically, the safety canopy - to not deploy in a timely fashion during rollover crashes. According to the News, Ford says no crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this problem.
The second recall, covering 692,700 Escapes, is related to the door handles. The News reports that the exterior door handles could open while the vehicle is in motion, and could also fail to latch properly. Once again, no crashes or injuries have occurred because of this. The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration has not issued an official notice on either recall as of this writing.
Ford Recalling 70k Escape and Mariner Hybrids for cooling issue
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Ford is recalling about 70,209 examples of the 2005-2008 Ford Escape Hybrid and the 2006-2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid because the cooling pumps for their hybrid systems could fail.
According to the company's defect notice, it's possible for the original "Motor Electronics Coolant (MEC) Pump" to wear out and fail, which would could cause the hybrid system to overheat. If this happens, the vehicle goes into a safety mode that takes away most or all of its power. However, braking and steering still operate normally. After cooling down, the affected models restart normally. The company says that it's not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.
Ford will begin repairing the vehicles in late October, and dealers will be installing improved, brushless pumps on the affected models at no charge to owners. If drivers had their pumps fail before this recall, they can contact Ford for a possible reimbursement. Ford hiring 2,200 salaried US workers this year
Fri, 11 Jan 2013With its influx of popular new products made in the US, Ford Motor Company has announced that it intends to hire 2,200 new salaried workers domestically this year. This is the biggest increase of salaried workers for Ford in the last 10 years, and it is all a part of Ford's contract commitment to the United Auto Workers union to bring 12,000 new jobs to the US by 2015.
There were no specifics as to where in the US these job openings will be, but Ford did reiterate that it will be spending $773 million on equipment upgrades and capacity expansion at six plants located in southeast Michigan; as a whole, Ford is investing a total of $6.2 billion to its US assembly plants over the next couple years. According to recently appointed president of the Americas Joe Hinrichs, the new jobs will be focused on areas such as engineering, manufacturing and computer software. Ford will post its job openings online at careers.ford.com, and it will also use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to recruit new workers, including military veterans.
