Not a bad van, a good van with a lot of miles - being sold as is/where is.  4 Captain seats, the full couch seat in back pulls down to a bed.  With almost 200K miles this work horse has a few issues.  I bought the van over two years ago as a transitional vehicle - I've transitioned to my next van.  Changed the oil regularly with additive.  Lots of dings, a couple small dents, a few small rust spots and starting to leak a bit of oil.  The check engine light is on, said to be an emissions sensor by two service garages - and not worth fixing.  The airbag light comes on intermittently ( I put a new clockspring in when I bought it - not sure if that's the cause of that airbag light), and the service brake lights will come on every once in a while, however the brakes are good and probably have another 20K plus miles on them. Transmission seems good, but sometimes has a few second pause engaging from reverse to drive.   Cruise works, AC works some times, power windows all work.  There is a (roughly 12") crack in the windshield that happened with a road rock last spring.  I stopped it with a window patch kit and it hasn't advanced in over a year - made it through a Chicagoland winter.  The secondary doors on both the side and rear have broken cable stops on the handles, so you have to pull the cables to get them open.   Just never bothered to fix them.  Missing one hub cap.  Carpet has stains and wear, interior has wear - but the vehicle doesn't smell like ick.   Rubber is pretty good (see pictures) and all the exterior lights work to the best of my knowledge.  If I think of anything else positive or negative - I will add it here right away.

I have attached numerous pictures and have a walk around video, which includes start up and engine running - I will send you that video if you ask.  The engine runs smooth..

You can visit the vehicle in North Lake County Illinois area - just ask.

$100 deposit on PayPal within 12 hours of winning bid.  Cash balance or bank check at pick up - or you may pay balance in advance on PayPal.

You can drive it home, and with some TLC this beast will go another 100K miles.

This vehicle is listed locally - so I reserve the right to end the listing without notice.

You can see the walk around video and hear the engine run on the youtube video here:

Ford recalling 65k Fusions from 2014 and 2015 because key can be removed

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

Ford is recalling an estimated 64,869 examples of the 2014-2015 Fusion, Fusion Energi and Fusion Hybrid in North America because the key can be removed when the vehicle isn't in Park under certain conditions. Specifically, the campaign covers 56,479 units in the US, 6,048 in Canada and 2,342 in Mexico, according to the automaker's tally on November 11.
Ford says a programming problem in the instrument cluster means that the key can be removed 30 minutes after the ignition is turned off, even if the transmission is not in Park. The situation where this could happen seems quite limited, and the company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. However, the fault puts the vehicle out of compliance with federal regulations covering theft protection and rollaways, and must be repaired.
The fix is easy: Ford will reprogram the instrument cluster at no cost to consumers. According to Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker in an email to Autoblog, "We will notify customers the week of January 5th." Scroll down to read Ford's announcement.

2015 Ford C-Max gets a corporate nose job [w/video]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

Ford might not have the splashiest booth here at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but the automaker is showing off quite a bit of hardware that will actually end up on roads across Europe. Parisians are no doubt tickled at getting to see the specifications of the Mustang tuned for The Continent (which has a revised suspension for European roads, and a few visual nips and tucks), in addition to the revised face of the family-friendly C-Max.
As you can see, C-Max styling has been revisited with a deft touch, grafting Ford's six-sided corporate grille on the nose, in place of the outgoing car's two-part affair. New headlights can also be found on the car's revised front fascia, though the rear end of the C-Max looks only slightly different than the current version.
Inside the cabin, Ford has consolidated controls and upped the ante in terms of material quality, with "black satin" and chrome details and more storage capacity, overall. Grocery-lugging moms and dads everywhere should appreciate the hands-free liftgate feature, as well.

70% of pickups could use aluminum by 2025

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

In the next decade, the auto industry will see an explosion in its use of aluminum to cut weight and increase fuel economy, according to a study from market analysts Ducker Worldwide cited by The Detroit News. We are already seeing the lightweight metal show up extensively in luxury models from Europe, but with the impending launch of aluminum-intensive 2015 Ford F-150 (pictured above), North America is using it even more, as well. The report predicts 70 percent of US pickups to have aluminum bodies by 2025.
It won't just be pickups that see the benefit, though. The average amount of aluminum in US vehicles is forecasted by the study to grow from an average of 350 pounds in 2013 to about 550 pounds by 2025. The most common parts to use it will be hoods, doors and - to some extent - roofs, as well.
The massive increase in pickups' aluminum content hardly seems surprising. The F-150 is predicted to use so much that it might cause a short-term shortage, according to one earlier report. At the same time General Motors is heavily rumored to be negotiating with suppliers for the next generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Ram is the last holdout of the Big Three, but the study predicts that not to last.
