Crown Victoria Police Interceptor
I am putting my beloved Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (aka PI P71) up for sale. I am looking to reduce my number of vehicles. It is a well maintained car in the rare paint color "Light Tundra" with light Stone (two tone) interior. It was a leased car used by the D.A. in Salt Lake County, Utah. I own it over 5 years and put 50,000 trouble free miles on it (90% hwy and 10% Town/country). It was used primarily for long interstate road trips. It now has 96,200 miles and around 250 incredibly low idle hours. Its factory options include Cruise, very rare Traction Control and Civilian Velor Six Passenger Seating Interior, Power D/S seat with power lumbar, Side Air Bags, rear Sylvania Osram goose-neck reading lamps over back seat, ceiling ticket lamp, AM/FM with CD. I added HID fog lights w/ factor switch found in the Mercury Marauder and the plastic throttle body engine cover and hood insulation only found on the Civilian Model Crown Victoria which really quiets down the ride. It never had any holes, antennas or spot lights on it. All paint is original and no evidence of any body work. The underside of the car is like it came out of the showroom. The car is stored in the garage for winters as I need 4wd so I switch to my Pick-up. The Good Year RSA tires are 50% and the matching spare is brand new. I am very anal with my cars being in top condition. This car does have some minor light scratches and a golf ball dent in the bottom of the ft. pass. door and not noticeable. The interior is perfect except for a small pink gator aid stain on the rear carpet which is covered by the molded floor mat. If you are looking at this ad you know these cars and their performance and capability of getting upwards of 400K when cared for. No Reserve Starting at $7000 with ABSOLUTELY NO Interest in selling it for any less. I would rather keep it as a spare car as I am using it now. If you want the car exported I will only deal with Berlin Motors Auto Importers in Berlin, Germany. I will do a BUY IT NOW. I will export it or do a bank wire sale through them only for export. If you are in the U.S. they have an office in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. Attention: Auto Advertisers please do not reply as I interested for you to sell my car . |

Inside Ford's high-tech climate chamber
Sat, Dec 27 2014There are two ways an automaker can test its vehicles in extreme climates: it can send said vehicle around the world – from Death Valley to the Arctic Circle – in search of the harshest weather, or it can recreate those conditions in an enclosed environment. We're sure that many automakers undertake some combination of both, but in this latest video clip, Ford shows us around inside it's state-of-the-art climate chamber. At its Driveability Test Facility in Allen Park, MI – inaugurated in 2010 just across the street from the Roush Technology Center – Ford can simulate all sorts of extreme conditions. It can drop the temperature down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit or raise it up to 130, and take it up to a simulated 12,000 feet above sea level or drop it down to 280 feet below. blast it with 150-mile-per-hour winds. It can control the level of humidity, approximate the intensity of the sun and even blast the test vehicle with artificial snow, just like your favorite ski resort. The facility strikes us as an engineering feat as impressive as some of the vehicles it's used to test, but don't take our word for it – scope it out for yourself in this brief two-minute video clip, which even includes some helpful tips for winter driving this holiday season and beyond. How Ford made its 2015 Ford Mustang safer for toupee wearers [w/video]
Fri, 28 Feb 2014Ford is ready to tell the story of its 2015 Mustang Convertible, the can't-miss bits being the easier, quicker and quieter roof operation, a more robust roof build for a coupe-like cabin noise, more trunk space, better visibility and reduced in-cabin buffeting. The top release system has been completely redesigned with a single, center-mounted latch on the windshield frame instead of the dual latches of before. The driver can now release the roof without having to lean over into the passenger space, after which the top goes down fully automatically with the press of a button. Ford doesn't say how long it takes to stow, but it's apparently done in half as much time as before, so figure around 8 seconds.
The roof uses a five-bow structure, with the fabric outer and full inner headliner sandwiching ten millimeters of insulation. Detailing work on the top has eliminated "unsightly folds" in the corners when the roof is up and made it more compact when down; its Z-fold assembly is 6.7 inches lower than before at its highest point when put down. Ford says the new electric drive internals make less noise when in operation, and the fully-finished droptop look is achieved with snap-in caps that flank the rear seating and stow in the trunk when not in use (the outgoing Mustang's top was higher and the front when folded and always looked like it was catching air and creating drag).
The compact roof and newly independent rear suspension setup in back means liberated trunk space, 11.4 cubic feet ready to swallow golf bags and tourist swag. You can read a lot more about it in the press release below, check it out in the short video of running footage and learn about the aerodynamic improvements made to the entire Mustang lineup that decrease drag and increase fuel economy.
Even Ford executives had issues with MyFord Touch
Fri, Oct 7 2016MyFord Touch is one of the auto industry's more controversial features. The media broadly panned the infotainment system developed with Microsoft for its slow responses and reliance on voice commands to navigate its deep menus. Oh, and Ford executives weren't big fans, either. Newly revealed court documents in a California class-action lawsuit demonstrate the level of venom Ford employees, both big and small, reserved for the Blue Oval's infotainment system. An error caused Bill Ford's navigation system to crash, leaving the family scion stuck on the side of the road in an unfamiliar area. The documents, unearthed by Forbes, detail current CEO Mark Fields' aggravations with MFT, too. A mechanic emailed an image of a cracked infotainment screen on an Edge to one of Ford's top Sync engineers, Kenneth Williams, suggesting "Mark Fields may have been a little aggravated with the system." But Ford and Fields' issues are nothing compared to the woes of the engineers that had to work on MFT. In a collection of emails obtained by Forbes, one engineer called the system "a polished turd," while another simply said, "These poor customers." And after one engineer suggested using a photo of Ford's Oakville Assembly Plant – home of the Edge, Flex, Lincoln MKX, and MKT production – as a background for the system, one of his coworkers said in an email that someone should instead Photoshop the image to read "abandon hope all ye who enter here," the Detroit News reports. Another summed up the problem, saying: "Ford's quality reputation is completely on the line ... another model year with the same crap is not acceptable." MyFord Touch almost single-handedly torpedoed Ford's reputation in widely reported quality metrics, including JD Power and Consumer Reports. Ford responded with a refreshed Sync3, a wildly improved rethink of its infotainment system that is far more responsive and easier to live with every day.
