Up for sale is my absolutely one of a kind beauty 2009 Black on Black Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. ONLY 113K Miles. These were highway miles. This unit was the agencies pride show car used as their D.A.R.E unit assigned to one commanding agent who gave classes against drugs in many schools. This was not your average patrol car running 24/7/365days. It is becoming harder to find P71s that are in great shape this one. If you are in the market for a reliable and absolutely clean Police Interceptor this is the one for you. This unit is so clean it could easily be put back to service. These legendary P71s are built to last and will serve you and your family for a long time. The engine runs very smooth, very responsive, strong, and super-fast. Absolutely NO LEAKS of any kind!!! PAINT SHINES AS NEW only minor scuffs!!!! Every single factory option functions as it should. Now warning lights of any kind. One small scuff by the driver side door handle and the passenger side lower corner of the rear bumper that I touched up and took care of it for you. Other than that the paint is its very clean and absolutely no rust. Underneath the car is as clean as you could get and looks as if the car just rolled out of the assembly line. Please understand that I take pride in buying and selling P71s. I simply will not sell a car that has any issues. In fact I only invest in P71s that are solid and absolutely need nothing to fix. I don't have the time or means to fix cars at my residence. So what you see is what you get and believe me you will absolutely have nothing to be concerned about when you buy your next P71 from me. My word is my bond and I tend to keep it that way. You have to see it in person and test drive it to understand how clean and solid this black beauty really is. Options include factory bucket seats, cloth back seat, and factory carpet, even heated side view mirrors. The interior is exceptionally clean with no rips, stains, or odors of any kind. The rear seat looks like new. Factory black carpet shows ONLY minor wear by the driver side. Mechanically, this unit is in excellent shape. It absolutely needs nothing. Even the under carriage is super clean which confirms the fact that the government agency that owned it and the agent who drove it took really good care of it. Absolutely NOR RUST!!!! All windows are clean with no cracks. The paint shines as new w/Only very minor scratches. Four matching tires in good shape and a full size spare in the trunk. I have been selling P71s for two decades now. I religiously take my time and cherry pick every P71 that I intend on selling. The great things about this P71 include: 1- ONLY 113K miles. 2- Factory carpet. 3- Mechanically speaking, this P71 is in great shape and needs nothing. 4- It is RUST FREE!!!!! 5- It rides smooth with absolutely no rattles or odd noises. The suspension is solid and in great shape. 6- Beautiful factory paint that is superb shape almost as new. 7- Both the engine and tranny run strong, very responsive, and super fast. 8- Absolutely NO leaks of any kind. 11- Windows are clean with no cracks. 12- All factory options are in great working order. 13- At high speeds this unit hugs the road and takes on sharp corners with ease. Ford 'working very hard' on F-150 hybrid
Thu, Dec 4 2014The lighter, aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 gets (at best) 26 miles per gallon. That's not bad for a truck that size – and we should always remember that improving gas guzzlers can make a big difference – but what if the popular truck came with a gas-electric hybrid powertrain? How efficient would that be? We heard Ford talking about such a vehicle last year, and now we learn that Ford is still "working very hard" to make a F-150 hybrid happen. You want details? Well, we all want details, but those will not be coming for quite some time. Last year, Ford's global product development chief, Raj Nair, said that the company was planning to have hybrid pickups and hybrid SUVs on sale by 2020. With fuel prices dropping, Nair is now saying that a hybrid F-150 makes more sense, financially, than a diesel, but Ford could make both options available, depending on customer demand. The diesel wouldn't require all that much work, Nair said, since "we've got diesels in the portfolio." To date, the only hybrid F-150s we've seen have been conversions, often PHEVs, like this example from HVET or this one from Quantum. Pickup trucks from other manufacturers haven't been greeted with huge sales numbers. General Motors stopped making its big two-mode hybrids and cancelled the next-gen program.
Ex-PR chief Vines accuses Ford of bugging cars, phones
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Jason Vines, former head of communications at Ford among other automakers, is accusing the Blue Oval of bugging his company phone and his car during the Firestone tire recall for the Explorer in 2001. The allegations have come to light in Vines' upcoming book What Did Jesus Drive? Crisis PR in Cars, Computers and Christianity.
According to The Detroit News, which has an advance copy of the book, Vines (pictured above) claims that after leaving the company, someone with security within Ford advised him that he had been bugged around the time of the recall. The allegations don't stop there, though. Vines further contends that he might not have been the only one to get this treatment, noting that then-general counsel John Rintamaki also believed he was being listened to.
According to The Detroit News, even if it had been a company phone, recording Vines without his knowledge still would have been a felony under Michigan law.
