2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, Ex Commander's Vehicle with 117K original miles and only 781 idle hours. Like new conditions, everything works in the car, no rust. The car is original black - NOT a repaint, paint code is (UA). The paint is super sharp and shiny and I give it a 10 out of 10 - has some minor scratches and (1) small ding on driver side door. The car still looks and drives very nice, no holes anywhere in or out of the car, carpet floors, Cold A/C, heather works, defroster works fine, working cruise control, car is equipped with factory alarm system with (1) controllers, AM/FM stereo + CD, trunk kevlar, manual traction control button, all seat belts and buckles in place, car came with medium shade window tint all around, all (4) windows and doors fully operational, tires are in great conditions all around (235/55/17 by Firestone Firehawk), CLEAN TITLE, 64 service records on Autocheck report which is available upon request. Full new spare tire kit in the trunk. Everything works in the car. Pink slip and documents on hand, Smogged, Sold as is. Very fast car that needs nothing and is ready to go! READY FOR WORK AND ROAD READY!!

DoJ fines Japanese parts firms $740M in massive automotive price-fixing scandal

Nine Japanese suppliers have pleaded guilty in US court over charges of price fixing in the automotive parts industry, resulting in the Department of Justice doling out a total of $740 million of fines, according to a report from Bloomberg. The scandal, which has resulted in General Motors, Ford, Toyota and Chrysler spending up to $5 billion on inflated parts and driving up prices on 25 million vehicles has sent the DoJ hustling into investigations. "The conduct this investigation uncovered involved more than a dozen separate conspiracies aimed at the U.S. economy," Attorney General Eric Holder (pictured above) said during yesterday's press conference.
As the investigation stands, the DoJ has issued $1.6 billion in fines against 20 companies and 21 individual executives, with 17 of the execs headed to prison. Deputy Assistant Attorney General Scott Hammond said, "The breadth of the conspiracies brought to light today are as egregious as they are pervasive. They involve more than a dozen separate conspiracies operating independently but all sharing in common that they targeted US automotive manufacturers."
Big-name suppliers indicted in the investigation include Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi Automotive and Mitsuba Corporation. A list of fines and other corporations named in the investigation is available at Bloomberg.

The wait is finally over. After months of spy shots, rumor and innuendo, Ford has officially pulled the wraps off its new Shelby GT350. Judging by the spec sheet and the promises being made - especially that the Shelby GT350 will be "an all-day track car that's also street legal" - the wait appears to have been worth it.

When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point.
