1978 Ford Bronco on 2040-cars

Year:1978 Mileage:62300

Condition: Very good condition 1978 Bronco Custom. Runs and drives very well for 35 year old car that has not been fully restored. It would be difficult to find original Bronco in better condition. Completely reliable and easy to start in cold or heat -- always turns over on first try. Body in good condition with little to know rust, unlike many Bronco's from this era. Bright blue paint is not original color -- not certain when paint job was completed but looks to have been done in last 10 years. Starting to see minimal signs of surface rust on interior corner of doors and door wells (so minimal that it is difficult to see in pics). The car was located in AZ until 2008. AC doesn't work. AC Compressor is present but not hooked up. Heater works. Heater vent fan bearings are starting to go and making noise but works (~$35 for new fan). New alternator and battery in Spring 2013. New exhaust/muffler in summer 2013. New Brakes in Fall 2013. $1500 spent on completely new brakes replacement/overhaul (new front rotors, calipers, rear drums, and brake lines). Tires have plenty of thread. The rear window, which is often an issue with these vehicles, is fully operational. Interior is black vinyl floor with some tears. Front seats and rear are original blue vinyl. Front seats have some tears and are covered with cloth seat covers. Rear seat is in good shape with minimal tears. Constantly getting compliments on this truck.

Features: 451M. 3 speed automatic transmission. NP203 full-time 4WD transfer case. Removable top is great for summer. Has aftermarket CD player and set of rear speakers (no door speakers). Aftermarket polished American Racing wheels, including spare wheel, with 33"x11.5" all-terrain tires. Spare tire is 31"x10.5".

History: To the best of my knowledge, the car was in AZ until 2008, which is why the body has little to no rust present. After the vehicle was moved to southern WI. I purchased vehicle in May 2013 and currently reside in Chicago. I hate selling, but I am moving across the country. Must sell vehicle before leaving in a few weeks.

Shipping and Payment: Winning bidder is responsible for $1000 deposit within 48 hours of auction close. Remaining full payment via certified check is required within seven days of auction close. Clear title in hand to make for quick transaction. Shipping arrangements and cost are the responsibility of the winning bidder.

Ford Mustang to get four-cylinder in Europe, but not US

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Fans of the Ford Mustang SVO, which was produced from 1884 through 1986 with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine and a manual transmission, may be interested to know that Ford is reportedly going to introduce something similar for 2015. But don't get too excited if you live in the US, as Edmunds reports that the vehicle will be offered in Europe only. Boo!
According to the report, Ford will put a version of its EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder into the engine bay of the Mustang. The engine would be enlarged from its current 2.0 liters to 2.3 liters, taking horsepower from 252 to around 300. The well-known 5.0 V8 engine will also be available in Europe.
"The Mustang is uniquely Ford and has a huge fan base here in Europe. Now those fans have something to look forward to and we look forward to providing more details in the near future," says Ford of Europe CEO Stephen Odell. That's great... but why not offer buyers in the States the (likely) fuel-efficient turbo option, too?

Court puts kibosh on apartheid lawsuit against Ford, Daimler

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Ford and Daimler have scored a major victory in a long-running lawsuit filed in US federal court by unnamed South African nationals. The suit alleges that both manufacturers and their subsidiaries sold their vehicles to the South African military, despite knowing that they'd be involved in violently putting down anti-apartheid protesters.
According to Reuters, South African plaintiffs filed the case under the 223-year-old Alien Torts Statute, a law which allows foreign nationals to file charges in US courts for perceived breaches of what was originally international law, but now more closely relates to violations of human rights.
And while the case - which also involves computer manufacturer IBM - has been tied up in federal courts for years, a recent case from the Supreme Court struck down a similar suit against Royal Dutch Petroleum (Shell), arguing that the ATS doesn't apply to corporations or to conduct if it occurred outside the US. In short, the law applies to individuals, but not corporations like Ford or Daimler. A US appeals court ruled that the conditions apply in this case, potentially drawing this long-running saga to a close, as the defendants will now be allowed to request that the case be dismissed in district court.

Ford is building this sweet back-to-basics SUV in Brazil

We're use to forbidden fruit teasing us in Europe. Hatchbacks and diesels from Renault, Citroën, Peugeot, Skoda, SEAT and Alfa Romeo have been a regular torment that we've grown accustomed to over the years. This vehicle, though, is one piece of forbidden fruit we aren't entirely sure we can get over. We need it.
It's called the Ford Troller T4, and if you accidentally read that as either "reborn Ford Bronco" or "Americanized Land Rover Defender," we wouldn't be rushing to correct you. It's a basic, badass SUV, and is the first new vehicle to come from Troller since Ford gobbled it up in 2007. For those with longer memories, you'll recognize this vehicle from the concept that preceded it, the Ford T-R Concept. The production model remains remarkably true to the T-R, as well as past Trollers, but it's a slightly more modern look overall, with LED taillights, contrasting colors
You'll have to bear with us on the details, as we've been forced to rely on the notoriously literal Google Translate to convert the original Portuguese into English, which means some of the details were lost along the way.
