1977 Ford Bronco Sport, All Original, Uncut Fenders, Rust Free on 2040-cars
Tempe, Arizona, United States
Up for auction is a super clean, rust free 1977 Ford Bronco with the coveted Sport package, factory 302 V8, finished in light copper with white vinyl buckets and bench. I purchased this Bronco a few years ago from the second owner. The truck spent most of its days in Denver Colorado where it was used by the original owner who loved to go fishing and bird watching. He drove it only occasionally and never touched the original features of the truck. The rear fenders remain uncut from the factory. The driver and passenger floors were professionally replaced with OEM style floor pans and the fit is perfect. The original driver side floor pan was rusted through with a quarter size hole in the flat part of the floor. The passenger side was very clean with mostly surface rust but I had both sides and decided to pay to have them both replaced. The shop that installed the new floors finished the entire rest of the truck floor with black POR 15.
This truck has 72,919 original miles as documented by the working odometer and Box A (actual miles) Arizona Title. The title is clear and in my name. The truck runs and drives. I would recommend a tune up, new motor mounts, transmission mount, and interior. The original interior is in fantastic shape for a 1977 truck. I do have the passenger side seat, it was left out for pictures but it is included along with the rear bench seat. The top was repainted by a friend, it needs to be color sanded and despite his efforts the paint job was not perfect and I would recommend a re-spray along with the rest of the truck. The rear hatch glass and side glass have been removed and I do have new rubber all the way around for the removable top. The dash pad is new and the door panels are new. This would be a great fun daily driver or show truck restoration candidate. The old truck market is very hot right now, especially for early Bronco's. The Desert Southwest climate is perfect for these rust prone classics and this is a great example. Take a look at the pictures and you will see every detail. There is no rust on this truck, it is clean and solid. If additional pictures are wanted please message me and I will do my best to respond quickly. I have a two post lift in my garage so if you want any detail pictures of the undercarriage that I have not included feel free to ask. I will be available this weekend for picture taking and out of town Mon - Thur next week. If you e-mail me through eBay and would like to talk over the phone please leave a number and I will call you. The truck is located at my home in Queen Creek, AZ but I can accommodate out of state buyers. My office is 15 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and I would be happy to pick you up at the airport and bring the Bronco to my office for inspection. I also have a lift at my office. I will also be glad to help with transportation. I have used Reliable Carriers and they are located close to my office in Tempe. I can drop at their terminal which usually saves you a hundred dollars versus a residential pickup. Good luck and happy bidding.

Ford, Volvo, Google, Uber and Lyft form self-driving alliance
Tue, Apr 26 2016Five companies arguably leading the worldwide effort to develop autonomous cars said Tuesday they're forming an organization to lobby the federal government to better prepare America's roads for self-driving technology. The founding members include some of the biggest companies in the automotive, autonomous, and ride-sharing realms – Ford, Google, Lyft, Uber and Volvo. Operating as the "Self-Driving Coalition for Safer Streets," they aim to work with lawmakers and regulators to clarify a disparate set of rules and regulations at both the state and federal levels that could hinder the deployment of autonomous cars. "The U.S. risks losing its leading position due to the lack of federal guidelines for the testing and certification of autonomous vehicles." – Hakan Samuelsson David Strickland, a former administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration who issued the first set of autonomous-related policies in that role (pictured below), will serve as the group's counsel and spokesperson. "The best path for this innovation is to have one clear set of federal standards, and the Coalition will work with policymakers to find the right solutions that will facilitate the deployment of self-driving vehicles," he said in a written statement. In January, Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said his department would accelerate efforts to craft such federal standards. Those efforts include holding two public hearings on standards, the second of which is scheduled to be held Wednesday in Palo Alto, California. Foxx signaled the intent to deliver them by June. Google has been leading the efforts to ensure such standards are national in scope, warning their cars could run afoul of state-specific laws should they cross state borders or if standards varies between the federal efforts and regional ones. The complexity of such efforts was underscored recently, when NHTSA agreed that Google's software could be considered the driver of a vehicle for the purpose of meeting federal motor vehicle standards, an interpretation that would conflict with preliminary California rules that mandate a licensed driver operate a self-driving car that comes equipped with human controls like a steering wheel and brakes. At South By Southwest last month, Jennifer Haroon, Google's self-driving car business leader, said the company couldn't accomplish its goals under those regulations.
Ford adding stop-start to all major model lines
Sun, 24 Nov 2013Ford has gone all-in on its efforts to offer most of its new vehicles with a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, but the automaker is reportedly preparing to take another big step toward improving vehicle efficiency. Automotive News is reporting that Ford will soon expand the availability of start-stop technology, which was first offered - presumably the first non-hybrid vehicle, that is - on the 2013 Fusion (equipped with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine) as a $295 option.
The benefit of start-stop is reduced fuel consumption as it shuts the engine off at long stops, and AN quotes Ford as saying that drivers can save more than $1,000 on fuel costs over five years. Despite this, the option hasn't been popular on the Fusion thus far, but it could be more beneficial on bigger vehicles like the F-150. Ford also said that the next-gen Edge, which was previewed in concept form at the LA Auto Show, will be equipped with auto start-stop to help make the EcoBoost engines even more efficient.
Ford Fiesta becomes UK all-time best seller
Thu, 24 Jul 2014We may regard Ford as an American automaker, but ask a Brit and they may tell you otherwise. The Blue Oval has, after all, been selling cars in the UK since 1903, and started manufacturing there as far back as 1911 when it began local production of the Model T in Manchester. Last year Ford ended 100 years of vehicle manufacturing in the UK when the last Transit van rolled off the assembly line in Southampton, but it's still the biggest-selling automotive marque in Britain.
Ford has led the British market for 34 out of the past 45 years, selling more Fiestas than any other company sells any other car in the UK since 2009... when it overtook the Focus. In fact the Fiesta has now become the best-selling car in British history, topping 4,115,000 units since its introduction in 1976. The previous record was held by - you guessed it - another Ford: the Escort sold 4,105,961 units over the course of its 32 years on the British market.
Although the Fiesta is no longer manufactured in the UK (previous versions having been built at Dagenham until 2002), engines are: the EcoBoost line was developed at the company's R&D center in Essex and are built at the factory in Dunton, while its diesel engines were developed at Dagenham in East London. Even the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine in the Fiesta ST is built in South Wales.
