This is a true garage find I ran across. It's a rare 1976 Ford Early Bronco Bicentennial 4x4 with the Ranger trim package. Powered by the a 302 V8, Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Lockout hubs, Original hubcaps & wheels, Roll bar, Chrome trim package, Even the smog pump is still there and works!!! This Bronco was purchased new in Omaha Nebr., from Markle Ford that is still in business today. This is a One family owned bronco that the original owner passed away and was given to his brother who I purchased it from. I was going to keep this one for myself but have decided to finish the 1968 that I already started redoing.  I was told it was repainted back some time in the 80's. Very little rust for a bronco of this era. Mostly bubbling in spots but if you know these early broncos its expected. The Bronco runs & drives good but the tires are old & cracked. The dash pad is nice with no crack as is the seats & carpet that is just faded some over is life & dirty from long term storage. All the lights seem to work as does the gauges other than the temp gauge. Speedo works fine also. All the glass is good, the horn works, as do the wipers. The dual fuel tanks both seem to work but the fuel gauge works only part time. Good tight power steering & good brakes. You are looking at it just as I did when it was pulled from the garage. I did put some wax on the left front fender & the upper left door just to see how it would clean up. It looks like with a good detail you will have a very nice driver quality Bronco. It was lasted tagged in 1988. No major oil leaks, just seeping from age. I'm just going to offer it up as it sits before I have it detailed so everyone can see it as I purchased it. If you have questions call Mike at 402-362-7938. These Broncos are getting hard to find in this Original uncut condition. This one deserves a good home not to be made into a rock crawler or mud racer. Thanks for looking & HAPPY BIDDING!!!!

1976 was the second year for the unleaded fuel powered broncos so you don't have to worry about fuel issues. The exhaust still retains the cat also. I've already had several questions about a Buy it now price. I'm going to let everyone have a chance at owning this Bronco so the auction will go to the end unless I get an offer that will work for me and the new owner. If you want it you will need to bid or call me and make a good offer. I reserve to end the auction in case of the right offer comes in. Thanks, Mike.

The Bronco has met the reserve so I will not be ending the auction early now for any reason. You will have to enter a bid on it if you want it so don't miss out!!!! Thanks to all bidders and someone is going to get a rare Bronco. Thanks again, Mike.

Hertz goes Dutch with Ford Focus ST-H

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

Want to take a performance car for a ride? Hertz can make that happen. Spin by your local rental location (depending, of course, on availability) and you can take out a Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, even a Corvette as part of the Adrenaline Collection. Hertz's Dream Cars lineup even includes Porsches and AMGs. But the really interesting stuff is what you can't get anywhere else: cars built specifically for Hertz.
Back in 1966, Hertz had Ford cook up a special run of Mustang GT350H models in back with gold stripes. It became an icon in and of itself, and in 2008 Hertz had a new batch of Shelby GT-Hs made. Earlier this year, Hertz contracted Penske to deliver another fleet of specially-built Mustangs you can rent. But if your travel plans include a trip to the Netherlands, Hertz has a completely different type of specially-prepared Ford on offer for you.
Back in August, Ford delivered a couple of Focus STs made specifically for Hertz in Holland. Now it's expanded that fleet even further. The Ford Focus ST-H features the same 252-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four (and everything else) as the standard Focus ST, but gets that signature black exterior with gold stripes and a black leather interior with Recaro buckets. So in case a trip to Amsterdam doesn't hold enough thrills, now you can throw a hot hatch into the mix as well. Scope out the press release (in Dutch - isn't that weird?) below.

Detroit automakers observing 8:46 of silence to mark Juneteenth

Fri, Jun 19 2020

GM Executive Vice President of Global Manufacturing Gerald Johnson, right, talks with employees at the Fairfax Assembly & Stamping Plant in Kansas City, Kansas. (file photo - GM)     All three Detroit automakers are observing Juneteenth, a day commemorating the end of slavery, on Friday by observing 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence, among other companywide efforts to advance the causes of social and racial justice and equality. Juneteenth marks the date, June 19, in 1865 when Union soldiers, led by Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger, arrived at Galveston, Texas, and announced the Civil War had ended and enslaved African Americans were to be freed. President Abraham Lincoln had officially ended slavery more than two years prior via the Emancipation Proclamation, but Union forces didn't reach Texas until that time, so there was virtually no enforcement. The 8:46 timestamp is significant because it was the length of time that a police officer in Minneapolis knelt on the neck of George Floyd during an arrest, ultimately killing him and sparking waves of protests across the U.S. and overseas. Autoblog asked automakers about their plans to mark Juneteenth, what they were doing to advance the cause of social justice for Black people, and how many African Americans they employ in both blue- and white-collar jobs. We heard back from GM, Ford, Fiat Chrysler and Honda but not from Nissan and Toyota. General Motors GM’s U.S. workforce is 17.2% Black and 69.2% white, according to its most recent corporate Diversity and Inclusion Report. GM's total global employment is 173,000, and it says women and minorities represent 40% of its team of corporate officers. For reference, the Census Bureau says African Americans make up 13.4% of the U.S. population of roughly 328 million people. White people constitute 76.5%. As previously reported, GM planned to pause production at its factories on each shift today and observe silence for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. The company will also have a digital countdown clock atop the GM's headquarters in Detroit for the moment of silence. Additionally, Chairman and CEO Mary Barra has said she will lead a new Inclusion Advisory Board made up of people from within and outside GM to suggest areas for change and hold the company to its commitments to fight injustice and racial inequality.

2020 Ford Escape, Lincoln Corsair ace crash tests, earn Top Safety Pick from IIHS

Fri, Nov 15 2019

The redesigned 2020 Ford Escape and its platform-mate, the 2020 Lincoln Corsair, have both just completed their bout of crash tests at the hands of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and while they did not emerge unscathed, they did come away with the agency's Top Safety Pick Award. One caveat: The rating only applies to the Escape equipped with the available LED headlights, which were deemed Acceptable. Similarly, the Corsair needs the available curve-adaptive LED headlights, also rated Acceptable, in order to achieve Top Safety Pick. The Escape's standard halogen headlights scored only a Marginal rating, while the Corsair's base LED headlights were deemed Poor due to glare. Those low headlight ratings knock the vehicles out of contention for Top Safety Pick. Had either vehicle offered headlights able to achieve a Good rating, that would have been enough to get them the agency's Top Safety Pick+ rating. Outside of their headlights, the 2020 Escape and Corsair acquitted themselves well. The Escape saw a big improvement in the difficult small-overlap front crash test, going from a Poor result in the previous generation to Good with the new one. The Corsair performed identically, and both achieved Good ratings in all six crash tests. The IIHS also tests automatic emergency-braking systems, and the standard and optional systems in the Escape and the Corsair both earned Superior ratings.
