Gulfport, Mississippi, United States

You are bidding on a beautiful 1967 early bronco with the legendary 289 mated up to a Ford AOD 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission that has undergone a restoration within the past year. Some items covered in this restoration were engine and suspension work, metal work, new paint and various other odds and ends that will be described in the next few paragraphs. Included with the sale is a 1967 Bronco specific shop manual as well as receipts that date back to 2007 spanning 3 owners. I purchased this vehicle back in November of 2012, the odometer at the time of purchase
was 62,954 although I suspect it has rolled over. Ive put 5400 miles myself since having
the gauge cluster rebuilt. In 2011, at
approximately 57,000 miles the previous owner had the engine rebuilt and added a few power options to include; 351 cam,
roller rockers, installed new edelbrock performer intake and 1403 electric
choke carburetor, headers, starter, spark plugs and wires, air cleaner,
etc. New 3.5 inch lift and extended
radius arms, as well as new rebuild kits for the axles and new gaskets for the
differentials. Installed a used AOD with
an advance adapter kit. New gas tank with sender. Class 2 hitch. Stainless steel quick release door hinges. Floor and rust
repair and upgraded front Chevy disc brakes, 15 inch black daytona wheels with 33x12.5 Toyo MT open country, to name a few. When I picked up the Bronco back in 2012 it was having transmission and electrical problems. Transmission issues were due to a cracked case and an incorrect rebuild which caused the trans to slip at low rpms and shift hard at high rpms. I spent $2700 to find and rebuild a whole new AOD case over at Advance Automatics in El Cajon, CA. The day I got the Bronco back with the fresh trans I took it for a drive only to have it break down on me as a bundle of wires caught fire under the dashboard. That's when I decided to build my own harness keeping only a few of the stock wires that were untouched. About 90% of the wires from the firewall forward are new. What started as a simple daily driver build turned into a continued restoration. Since ive owned the Bronco here is a short list of work ive done, any work outsourced was performed at Advance automatics or Beach city broncos in El Cajon. All parts purchased were from well known vendors such as; Wild Horses, LMC truck, BC broncos, James Duff, CJ pony parts, Jegs, Summit, Oreillys, etc... Within past year: Various door, tailgate, hood gasket sets and seals Rebuilt carburetor Rebuilt AOD transmission with correct advance adapter
case. $2700.00 - case and rebuild / $634.00 Advance adapter kit New flow kooler water pump and robert shaw high flow thermostat New old stock timing cover with gasket New power steering pump, pulley, belt, and hoses New 1 wire alternator New old stock fan shroud New fuel filter and hoses New spark plugs New upper and lower radiator hoses with lower anti-compression spring New vacuum hoses, PCV valve Rebuilt distributor, installed pertronix II electronic ignition Flamethrower II coil New H4 headlamps, wire harness fused and relayed New horn Most wires under dash replaced Rebuilt gauge cluster Installed Autometer water temp gauge Installed but not wired in Autometer oil press gauge Recovered front and rear stock seats in black leather/gray fabric, drivers seat has 1/4 tear New paint, paint supplies total $1000 alone without labor Undercoat interior floor Lizard skin + undercoat underside floor Undercoat inside of doors + 3M wax spray in doors and rockers New front and rear chrome bumpers and side view mirrors BC Broncos media console w/IPOD hookup and speaker 90's ranger steering colum with working intermittent wipers, horn, etc. all electric works Bronco custom car cover Painted but not installed classic bubble scoop New speedometer cable, gauge speed is accurate New e-brake cable, parking brake springs New tailgate silencer Cutout fender heat exchanger
Within past 4 months: New BC Broncos soft top. Side windows and rear are removable to run as a Safari top. $1600 after shipping New power brake booster with proportioning valve New James duff steering dampner New DOT approved front 3 point seatbelts and 2 point rear
belts (Not cheap, DOT legal in all 50 states) New valve cover gaskets Readjusted roller rockers New fuel pump and hoses Repainted engine in correct Ford blue New DOT approved windshield There are various other odds and ends I have fixed. I also still have some parts on order. For example, ive cleaned and rebuilt the
original WARN hubs but they continue to stick so I have brand new WARN premium
hubs being shipped. Waiting on 2 tie rod
rebuilt kits and stop lamp switch. Ordered aftermarket 3 spoke steering wheel and momo adapter hub. With all the work that has been completed please keep in
mind this is a 47 year old vehicle and it should be driven as such. In the past 2 years I've only put approximately 5400 miles because my job keeps me away. I hate to see this one go but Im only selling this to
fund a family wagon overland build. This
is not a concourse level restoration but it is very nice as I get compliments
everywhere I go. I built this rig
exactly as I wanted. While I was
stationed in Port Hueneme I drove this vehicle every other week from Port
Hueneme to San Diego, a 180 mile trip one way without issue. Im now stationed in Mississippi and use this
as my daily driver. It has performed flawlessly thru Los Angeles traffic in 90 degree weather, and thru the snow packed woods in 28 degree winter weather in Gulfport. If you have further questions or would like to check out the vehicle in person feel free to contact me. I can also give you my screen name on classicbroncos.com so you can see every issue ive had since taking ownership. The odometer reading will fluctuate as this is my daily driver. That being said there are subtle rock chips and wear tear blemishes from being driven that I am currently taking care of. As stated above, I installed a new DOT approved windshield this past weekend to replace the cracked one it came with. This vehicle is being sold "as-is" with NO warranty either expressed or implied. I reserve the right to end this auction early in the event it sells before the auction ends. Offers are welcome but please no trades. Only payments accepted are cash in hand or wire transfer from your bank directly to mine. I bank with Wells Fargo. Huge, pricey trucks haul jobs and profits for the Detroit Three
Tue, Feb 5 2019DECATUR, Texas — Mickey McMaster is on his 12th pickup truck. The 61-year old farm equipment dealer in Decatur, Texas, two weeks ago treated himself to a 2019 GMC Denali for around $69,000 — a reward for long hours at work. "For me this is the Cadillac of trucks, it's a real luxury vehicle," McMaster said. "I've worked my way up to afford a truck like this and it shows that I've earned it." McMaster is the kind of customer General Motors Co is banking on as it plans to add 1,000 jobs at a plant in Flint, Michigan that will build a new generation of its largest pickups. Demand from Texas and other heartland states for big pick-ups is providing a lifeline to many workers the No. 1 U.S. automaker is laying off at plants elsewhere. The Detroit Three automakers and thousands of their U.S. workers are counting on customers like McMaster to keep buying bigger and more luxurious pickup trucks even if overall U.S. vehicle demand weakens this year, as most analysts predict. At Flint, GM will build a new generation of its heavy-duty Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierras, including luxury models that are some of the most profitable vehicles on the planet. GM, Ford Motor Co and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV's Ram division own the segment and are each doubling down with new or redesigned models launching this year. Sales of heavy-duty pickups in the United States have grown to more than 600,000 vehicles a year, up more than 20 percent since 2013, according to industry data. Prices for luxury models can easily top $70,000. GM on Tuesday celebrated the launch of a new generation of heavy-duty GMC and Chevrolet pickups at the assembly plant in Flint, Michigan, that is now building all such trucks for the company. At the same time that GM is laying off thousands of U.S. workers and planning to shutter five North American factories, Flint is hiring. The plant runs on three daily shifts, six days a week. As the new model's assembly system ramps up, the plant's capacity will increase by more than 25 percent, plant manager Mike Perez told Reuters. The Flint plant plans to add 1,000 workers, more than half of the 1,500 factory workers who have asked to transfer from plants GM has targeted for shutdown as part of CEO Mary Barra's restructuring plan. "We're bringing in 50 to 100 people every week," said Perez. Workers last week were still finishing the job of retooling the Flint factory to build the new heavy-duty trucks as part of a $1.5 billion investment project.
Ford cuts F-150 fuel use through CNG-capable fleet sales, EcoBoost
Tue, May 13 2014The possibility of $1-a-gallon fuel would make a lot of US governmental entities sit up and take notice. The state of Oklahoma and the city of Dallas are making that happen. Those two entities are buying up a bunch of Ford F-150 pickups retrofitted to run on compressed natural gas (CNG), all in the name of cost savings and emissions reduction. Oklahoma is buying 256 of the F-150s, while Dallas is buying another 65. The trucks, which cost between $6,000 and $9,500 to retrofit (on top of the original price), can run on either CNG or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). And while that's a substantial hit, conversion costs are typically paid back in three years thanks to lower refueling costs. CNG prices are as low as $1.07 a gallon in parts of Oklahoma. How much lower? The national average price for CNG is about a buck and a half less than the $3.67 average per-gallon cost of gasoline. And CNG prices are as low as $1.07 a gallon in parts of Oklahoma, where CNG is plentiful. CNG also cuts tailpipe greenhouse gas emissions by about 20 percent compared with gasoline, while the retrofitted trucks can go as far as 450 miles from their CNG tanks in addition to the 300-mile range from their conventional tanks. That's useful in a bit state like Texas. This week, the US Energy Department trumpeted a $5.9-billion loan program that Ford accessed to upgrade its factories for production of its EcoBoost engines, noting that Ford has sold a half-million F-150 trucks with EcoBoost engines. Those trucks have collectively cut fuel use by almost 57 million gallons of gas during the past three-plus years. Check out Ford's press release on the F-150 purchases below and the Energy Department's statement about its loan program here. OKLAHOMA, DALLAS ORDER 300-PLUS CNG-CAPABLE FORD F-150 PICKUPS AS DEMAND GROWS FOR ALTERNATIVE FUEL OPTION The state of Oklahoma and its agencies to buy 256 Ford F-150 trucks prepped to run on compressed natural gas; Dallas orders 65 for its fleet 2014 F-150 available with gaseous-fuel prep option on 3.7-liter V6 engine; can run on CNG or liquefied petroleum gas (also called propane autogas) By summer, Ford will offer eight vehicles that can run on clean-burning, affordable CNG; the company is on track to sell more than 15,000 such vehicles in 2014 The state of Oklahoma, its agencies and the city of Dallas have ordered a total of 321 Ford F-150 pickups that can run on compressed natural gas.
Ford pulling out of V8 Supercars after 2015
Tue, Dec 2 2014Australian racing fans are staring down the end of an era as news breaks that Ford will no longer participate in the V8 Supercars series. Although the official announcement has yet to be made, the decision – as reported widely in the automotive press Down Under and in global motorsport publications – indicates that the Blue Oval automaker has already confirmed its intentions to its shareholders early on Monday to shut down its factory effort in the popular tin-top series at the end of next season. The move will mark the end of an era for what has become the International V8 Supercars Championship. Alongside GM's Holden division, Ford was one of only two manufacturers competing in the series from its inception in the late 1990s through last year when a change in regulations opened the door for entries from Nissan, Volvo and Mercedes. Further rule changes are expected to attract even more manufacturers to the series, with Lexus said to be first among them. Over the past eighteen seasons, the V8 Supercars Championship has been won in a Holden Commodore fourteen times, leaving Ford to win the title only four times with successive versions of the Falcon. Eleven of the cars on the grid this season were Commodores, compared to only seven Ford Falcons between two teams that will need to switch to another manufacturer for the season after next – although some could opt to stick with their Fords for one more season, even without factory support, until the open 2016 regulations take effect. The decision follows Ford's announcement last year that it will cease manufacturing in Australia by 2016, ending a 90-year presence Down Under that stretches back to 1925. Blue Oval models like the Falcon, previously unique to the Aussie market, are being replaced by imported models like the Mondeo and Mustang.
