This truck is a 1970 Body and chassis and drivetrain, that has been upgraded with the axles and brake system from a 1977 Bronco: Dana 44 w/disk brakes, large bearing rear 9" with large dia drum brakes (Keep in mind; to upgrade an earlier model Bronc to the later heavier axles and disc brakes can cost $$$!) The engine, transmission, axle and wheel bearings, brakes, suspension electrical system were all completely rebuilt approximately 30K miles ago; all still running perfectly. The engine is a 302: PAW modified heads, Crane cam/roller lifters, brand new Edelbrock 500cfm, Performer intake, headers, electronic ignition (exact specs available). Hurst Master Shift kit. Custom roll cage with STC Fastrac Top and bikini top. James Duff 3.5" raceing suspension kit. Includes several reference materials: Ford Bronco History book, Original Chilton's Repair Guide, Carb Tune up book, lots of extra parts.
The body is solid, but has some rust in all the usual places; top of front fenders, front of hood, rocker panels, drivers floor board (see pics) and some minor dings; right front fender, right rear quarter panel. The rear quarter posts for the STC Top got two 3" dia holes chewed through them by field mice, other than that the top is in perfect condition.
The truck is ready to go as a dependable daily driver, beach cruiser or off-road vehicle.

NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs

It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.
