You could drive some bland and boring Toyota and get 34 MPG or drive this cool FIAT with style, convertible AND better gas mileage. You don't have to compromise between fun and sensible. Exterior Color: Mocha Latte (Tan) / Looks AMAZING in person, you cannot help but smile when you see this car. It'll definitely brighten your day parked in your driveway (and even more when it greets you in your spot after work or school). This color is a tribute to the Italian car colors of the late 50's and 60's and is very nostalgic. You can definitely say you live the Dolce Vita when you are in this car Top: Tan. Cloth top retracts with a touch of a button (and even a secret trick on the key fob). Let me be clear about the top since there is some mis-information on the internet. The top has 3 modes. The first opens it about a foot, so you have something like a little sunroof. The second position opens the roof completely so you have a super big sunroof <-- in THIS position you still have perfect view out of your back window. Then, there is a third position, which takes the roof all the way to the trunk. In that position you can still see out the back, but you have to adjust the rear view. But that one is the "money" way to drive. Super cool and feels like a proper cabrio. Interior Color: Seats are part cream color and part dark brown cloth. Very light and airy. Fiat recalls nearly 30,000 Fiat 500L models
Wed, 30 Jul 2014Fiat has announced a recall of 29,500 Fiat 500L hatchbacks in the US and Canadian markets due to concerns that the roomiest member of the Fiat range features knee airbags that won't deploy unless the occupant's seatbelt is fastened.
There have been no injuries reported due to this issue, which affects vehicles from model years 2014 and 2015. Of the nearly 30,000 vehicles covered in this recall, 25,500 come from the US market, while the remaining 4,000 are from Canada. It's not clear what the underlying cause of this issue is.
Fiat knows of no injuries relating to this problem. As per usual, owners will be notified and asked to report in for a free repair.
Merged Fiat-Chrysler HQ will be in London
Fri, 09 May 2014You won't be seeing Sergio Marchionne in his famous sweaters running day-to-day operations of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles from Michigan. Although, he won't be doing it from Italy, either. The FCA CEO recently announced that the company's corporate headquarters would be located in London.
"Headquarters will be in London. It's clear that group executive functions, the board, my office, some of my functions, need to operate out of London, but that doesn't mean that I'm giving up my operational responsibilities of the US," said Marchionne to Automotive News at a press conference.
When the creation of FCA was announced, the company said its tax domicile would be in the United Kingdom. But it gave no specific location at that time. The business is still keeping most of the details under wraps.
Marchionne assures Fiat jobs will stay in Italy, amid Chrysler merger talks
Sat, 01 Jun 2013Even though Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne has repeatedly said he won't pick up, leave Italy and take his Fiat factories with him, his occasional pointed comments about the challenges of running operations in that country has worried Italian politicians dealing with government, economic and labor-force seizures the past few years. After Fiat Industrial announced it was moving its headquarters to London and it was rumored that the car division's HQ would move to Auburn Hills, MI after the merger with Chrysler, it was worried that more Italian jobs would disappear.
Industry Ministry Flavio Zanonato sought assurances from both Marchionne and Fiat chairman John Elkann that they would "commit to the country," and it appears those assurances have been given. Unemployment in Italy is at 20-year-highs and car sales are at 20-year-lows, but Marchionne said "We have confirmed our commitments for Italy" and the company will hold steady on employment. The nation and the corporation said they would work together to "relaunch Italy's car market," although it's not clear what either of them will be able to do beyond wait it out. At the very least, Fiat's stance means there's one less ball the country's politicians have to juggle.
