I am selling my 512TR. Divorce forces the sale. The car is serviced. In December 2011, I had a complete 7year 36000 mile service performed. This was necessitated by a missed shift that required transmission disassembly and rebuild. I did many other items while the engine and transmission were out. I replaced the pinion gear with a much more robust pinion used in high performance/ racing applications. the exhaust was processed with "Jet Flow" which is porcelinizing the inner and aluminizing the outer aspects of the exhaust headers. this increases the efficiency of the extraction of heat. I will include photocopies of the work order and title. I have many more photos than can be shown on this ad. The car is set up well with adjustable spring seats and great shocks. The exhaust is by TUBI. TUBI Exhaust make all the difference in the world as far as power output and musical exhaust note..."think rocket launch or thunder". Pirelli Supercar Tires. The rears are from 2011 with maybe 1500 miles on them. The interior is red and black as can be seen in the pics. Everyone loves it. If you have never driven a 512TR but have driven a Testarossa....your in for a treat. The 512TR has so many little but meaningful improvements over the Testarossa. The car is much more drivable. The engine is internally improved. The 512TR engine is lowered to reduce lateral rolling mass. As can be seen in the pictures of the engine compartment, there are quite a bit of cosmetic accents in the way of bright polish and chrome. This will either blow you away, and you will just do whatever you have to do to get this car, or you won't like it... no in between . Everyone, including the local Ferrari club Pres., likes it a lot!

I would like to take a moment to discuss the title. This car has a clear California Title...now. In this car's past it was insured or should I say under-insured. The car had a side scraping shunt that did not involve the suspension or frame in any way. The left side panels were replaced. The car was repainted by a famous collectors personal painter to slightly BETTER THAN FACTORY NEW. The upshot of all this is that the car was salvaged to the insurance company because that's what happens if you under-insure your car. The insurance company just pays you off and takes the car whether you like it or not. Then the car was repaired as any Ferrari would be. I mention this in detail because when they say "Watch out, the car is a salvage" they are doing great harm to many and certainly this car. A salvage is important when a car is under water or in a fire or a clip job. NONE OF THESE APPLY HERE.

So if you want the best low mileage drivable (fast and safe) 512TR...look no further.

Vettel says halo would have saved Wilson, Surtees

Fri, Mar 4 2016

Sebastian Vettel reckons the aesthetics of the new halo protection system do not matter as long as it helps save lives in Formula 1. The Ferrari driver ran with the device for the first time on Friday, after teammate Kimi Raikkonen tested it on Thursday. The halo, however, was subject to harsh criticism from some drivers like world champion Lewis Hamilton, who said it was the "worst-looking mod in F1 history". Force India Nico Hulkenberg was also against the device and labelled it as "horrible". Four-time champion Vettel, however, is convinced drivers like Justin Wilson and Henry Surtees - who died after being hit in the head by objects during races - would still be alive today had the halo system been used in their cars. "First of all, to go around is okay. You can see what you need to see," Vettel told reporters on Friday. "I think we can improve the system in terms of aesthetics and also in terms of how much it's in your way, but I tested it as well in the simulator and I think we will see evolutions of it very soon. "In principle I agree it doesn't look very nice but equally it helps increase the safety, it helps saving lives. "There would be at least two drivers in the last four years there I remember that would still be around – Henry Surtees and Justin Wilson – if we had this type of system. "I think it can be very ugly but nothing justifies not having these two guys around." Scuderia Ferrari displaces relatives of missing passengers at Malaysian hotel

Sun, 23 Mar 2014

The action and glamor of a Formula One race coming to town is usually more than enough to shine an international spotlight on a host country, but Malaysia has made headlines recently for another reason entirely. That, of course, would be the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight 370. But with the two events coming together, something's going to have to give, and unfortunately in this case, it's the grieving families of the flight's passengers.
The clash came to a head when the Scuderia Ferrari came to town to set up for next weekend's race. Team members were booked to stay at the Cyberview Hotel in the capital of Kuala Lumpur, arrangements which F1 chief Bernie Ecclestone points out were likely to have been made long ago. The trouble is that over a dozen relatives of MH370 passengers who had come in from China were still staying at that hotel while awaiting word on their loved ones' fates, and with the hotel apparently filling up fast ahead of the grand prix weekend, those family members were forced to leave.
Just where they've gone, we don't know, but while the development may not look good for Ferrari or for F1, it strikes us as one of those unfortunate situations where no one is really to blame. The race has been booked for months, the team likely made their reservations long before the flight went missing, the hotel is obliged to honor the reservations and the grieving families need somewhere to stay. The tendency to point fingers often prevails, but in this situation we're afraid no one is to blame but the circumstances. That, and the still as-yet unknown cause of the flight's mysterious disappearance.

Hugh Jackman will play Enzo Ferrari in upcoming biopic

Fri, Mar 10 2017

Following the success of his latest film, Logan, it seems Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman already has a new gig lined up. According to Deadline, Jackman has accepted the role of Enzo Ferrari for a biopic manned by Michael Mann. Interestingly, this is the second actor with a major superhero role under his belt to be asked to play Ferrari. Christian Bale, who played Batman in the Christopher Nolan trilogy, was originally chosen for the part, but he quit when he felt he couldn't gain the necessary weight before filming began. To us, casting a famous Aussie as a man as synonymous with Italy as Pavarotti is a bit odd. But if Sean Connery, a Scottish man, can play a Russian submarine commander in Hunt for Red October, then Jackman shouldn't have much issue. Jackman won't be alone in playing the Ferrari role either. Another biopic about the racing driver and sports car builder is in the works from a different studio. That film will feature Robert De Niro as Ferrari, which seems like a match made in heaven. However, the subjects of each film are a bit different. The Jackman film focuses only on an early part of Enzo Ferrari's career, specifically the year of 1957. The de Niro flick will take a broader look at Ferrari's life from the 1940s until his death in the late '80s. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
