2006 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Base Coupe 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Boca Raton, Florida, United States

2006 FERRARI 612 SCAGLIETTI. I purchased this car from an Insurance Company. It has been driven into a puddle and sucked water into the left cylinder bank. One or two cylinders damaged (probably broken cylinder pin). Now the engine can be turned (by hand) only 3/4 rotation. There was no water inside the car. Everything else is works except two messages displayed on the dash (Tire Pressure Monitor system need calibration and suspension system need service). The headliner need to be fixed also.
The body is nice and straight, no accident damage. Interior nice and clean, no (water) smell. I bought the car with rebuildable Florida title and after I transfered the title to myself. It now has South Carolina salvage title. South Carolina does not do rebuild to out of state cars. That means you can register this car in Sc, Fl or any other state without the rebuild procedure. I believe this engine needs 1 or 2 cylinder liners, piston pins and connecting rods with bearings, and gasket sets. I have seen cylinder liner on ebay around $ 400. If you have any question call me at 407-558-5362 (Larry). |

2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale
Thu, 12 Dec 2013Where the current roadgoing Ferrari coupe with its rear-mounted V8 can go beyond this Speciale edition, I don't know. The 458 Italia and Spider already hold a very dear place in the hearts of anyone who has driven them on a sunny day over great roads or tracks, and I was pretty sure nothing could beat the heady sensory combo presented in the 458 Spider when I first drove it back in 2011. I may have to change my opinion now.
Companies like Ferrari are in the enviable position of sprinkling performance dust on their already-great base cars, all just to make them a skosh better and grab us again by the loins for one more model year. Some perspective: in 2002, the legendary Enzo set its personal best around Ferrari's 1.9-mile track at Fiorano, pulling a 1:24.9. This 458 Speciale with four fewer cylinders and more weight beats it with a time of 1:23.5, and not once during my laps did I feel as though I might die if my slightest judgment behind the wheel was less than on the money.
Race Recap: 2014 Spanish Grand Prix is boom and bust [spoilers]
Mon, 12 May 2014The Spanish Grand Prix's 2.892-mile Circuit de Catalunya is considered a preview for the rest of the season, since it's a combination of long front straight and twisting middle sectors mimic sections from every other Formula One track to follow. After the long break following the flyaway races to open the season, teams and fans have also been looking forward to this race to see if anyone had a realistic hope of catching Mercedes AMG Petronas; Infiniti Red Bull Racing honcho Christian Horner boiled his team's outlook for the season down to the line, "We've got to [beat them in Spain] if we're going to make a championship of it."
If we take that as our starting point then the weekend began as a bust. Lewis Hamilton only just beat Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg for pole, the Brit's final effort getting him 0.178 seconds clear of the German. Daniel Ricciardo, proving Red Bull is at least the best of the rest, took third but did so more than a second behind Hamilton. Valtteri Bottas of Williams lined up fourth, almost 1.5 second behind and Romain Grosjean delivered overdue good news for Lotus by taking fifth on the grid, more than 1.7 seconds behind pole. Kimi Räikkönen in sixth outqualified his Ferrari teammate Fernando Alonso in seventh, but he couldn't be happy about it because the Ferraris were nearly two seconds behind, and Jenson Button in eighth in the McLaren was more than two second behind. Felipe Massa put the second Williams in ninth, and Sebastian Vettel overcame a terrible start to the weekend to make it into Q3, then didn't set a time when his gearbox failed, then got dropped five places to 15th on the grid when the gearbox had to be changed.
When the lights went out, then came the boom...
One more LaFerrari will be built to benefit Italian earthquake victims
Wed, Aug 31 2016Today, Ferrari Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne announced that the company was planning to build one more Ferrari LaFerrari coupe in order to raise money for victims of the earthquake that struck central Italy last week, killing nearly 300 people. Production of the car officially ended in 2015, with 499 examples produced, though preparations for the LaFerrari Spider are in the works. The 500th LaFerrari will be auctioned off, though no word on when the car will go on sale. The lucky owner will take home the most powerful and expensive road-car the Italian automaker has ever produced. The LaFerrari, which sold for $1.3 million, makes 949 horsepower from its V12 hybrid system. It remains, and mostly likely will remain for quite some time, one of the quickest vehicles on the planet.
